Hey, Artumbo, quick explanation about the strange lack of Numby Advancement! In Numby's description, there's an often overlooked clause that never really mattered much when she was first released, but is now incredibly important to know when playing her with Feixiao, which reads as follows: "The action Advance Forward effect cannot be triggered during Numby's own turn." Most players read this and rightly assume that this is to prevent Numby from Action Advancing themself, but it also has an unfortunate side effect due to what Honkai Star Rail constitutes as "A turn". Long story short, once Numby takes action, it is considered "Numby's turn" until another character (ally or enemy) starts their turn. That means any follow-ups that Numby's attack itself triggers, such as Feixiao Talent/Aventurine Talent/Moze Talent, will not advance Numby, because they will occur in the space between Numby's attack and the next turn, when Numby will be able to benefit from Action advance again. This clause ALSO applies to all attacks that occur during Numby's Ultimate State after Numby Attacks, but before another character starts their turn- including Aventurine's Ultimate, in this video. Judging by Numby's place in the action order at the beginning of the cycle, Numby must've gotten the killing blow at the end of the first wave, and Honkai Star Rail turns DO IN FACT carry over between waves, therefore Aventurine's Ultimate wave used in between Numby's last turn in the last wave and the first turn in the second wave, preventing him from being advanced! It's a strange mechanic, one I think makes Feixiao's team interesting to play, seeing as you can interpose Feixiao's Ultimate at opportune times to advance Numby and manipulate when Numby takes their turn. If not paid attention to, you can lose upwards to 2-3 Numby attacks in a fight, which is 1.5 stacks on Feixiao, and could make a serious difference in clear speed!
First off, thank you for taking the time to write out the explanation! Really appreciate it and it definitely makes sense now that I'm looking back on it. Numby did in fact deal the killing blow and when the new phase started and Aventurine hit Kafka with his follow-up attack, Numby wouldn't advance because of the restriction that you mentioned where he can't advance on his own turn. And I agree, it's VERY interesting. I think there's still a lot to explore with min maxing Numby advances. In this case, it could've been optimal to not pop Aventurine's ult right away to squeeze out that one extra advance - and it has a cascading effect like you said: 3 missed Numby attacks can be 1.5 stacks on Feixiao, and it's also missed damage (toughness too), Concerto procs and energy for Robin, Aventurine stacks, and so on.

For a unit given for free months ago, Ratio ages like fine wine. Feixiao is bound to outperform him as she IS the newer and shinier 5*, but not by much. Dr. Ratio truly L+Ratio-ed the Genshin shills claiming he's just another Aloy.
Just as I thought theres barely a difference. Thanks for the video, I wasnt 100% sure if skipping her is a big mistake but now Im pretty much sure its not, I handeled the new AS with my Ratio to 12 stars no problem too so Im fine
The difference is pretty big. Ratio had 2 chalks left that were hitting for 19% of Kafka's HP so ~38% overkill. But Feixiao didn't even get out of concerto, her entire team had 2 full attacks left. She probably could've 0 cycled that stage even if you doubled the number of Kafkas and Reavers.
Getting ratio'd in a comment thread about the crit ratio Dr Ratio has would be a bit cruel, friends. So for reference the original comment is a joke about how talking about Ratio's crit ratio sounds like a dad joke, i.e a pun.
Topaz eidolons help ratio so much for the 100% chance, for the dmg comparison dont change much, but without the debuffs missing the Ratio FuA hurts so much
this is my exact problem with ratio if u only have an e0s0 topaz the follow up is so inconsistent, aventurine helps too if u have his lc or trend of universal market(rng), but for most f2p like me its better to just pull for new characters
@@TheoDimitry moze is great and honestly a pretty ideal teammate for him (only being slightly behind an e0 topaz if he's e2) since he has 2 innate debuffs in his kit :)
The fact that ratio can keep up with games content even after top tier dps present in game just shows that giving him for free was one of greatest hoyo blessings 😊

I knew Ratio was strong, but I didn't expect it to be as close as it was; thought Feixiao would absolutely annihilate Ratio when it comes to this- well, I suppose Feixiao definitely was clearly better, just not as big of a difference as I expected. Anyways, in our hearts we all know that Luocha will always be the best girl (and speaking of abundance, we need a comparison between Gallagher and Lingsha when she comes out).

I'm a Ratio main but I still got Feixiao. Moze E4 was to good to skip and even with both sharing their best teams (I have Robin and Aventurine), I don't have any other DPS in my account and Love the Follow Up Archetype (I have Jade, Herta and Xueyi built just bcs of FUA).
aventurine will make it so it becomes almost impossible to die but robin will give crazy amp to any team you put her in id still recommend robin tho overall since there are good alternatives for aven, while none can really do what robin does

I was confused by your Fei damage until I went back and saw Topaz and Robin. You have a little more CD than me, and a little less ATK, but I'm using her recommended set, but your Fei is hitting like an absolute freight train by comparison. I'm definitely hoping to snag Robin E1 before she leaves, but it took all I had just to get Fei and Robin in the first place...
The problem with ratio is that he is expensive I mean my ratio is rank #50 in seeleland but in action he sucks(i can't reach 100k with fua) cuz he is f2p and i don't have sw,topaz or robin
duran is definitely the better set for him, but my salsotto quality is much higher than my duran (dont have a single usable atk/imaginary orb on it) so it ends up being his best option on my account!
or if you barely have any fua units like me, (i only have robin) then feixiao completely overshadows ratio. went from a 3-4 cycle with ratio to a comfy 1 cycle with feixiao in current moc first side.
@@Ah-wz6nn You're using Ratio wrong then. He doesn't need fua units. Debuffers like Pela, Silverwolf or Jiaoqiu + a harmony like Sparkle or Bronya give him all he needs. And E2 Moze is a cheap fua unit for him that has as many debuffs for Ratio as E1S1 Topaz
@@BananaCake26 no sparkle + jiaoqiu + silverwolf + didnt build gui + moze didn't exist yet + used bronya on side 2. best i could do was ratio + pela + ty + hh, relying on ult fua procs with ty and hh energy battery. Replacing either ty or pela with robin in that team didn't help much either. meanwhile feixiao robin march gall/hh got me 1 cycling with a lot of room to spare. might've even been a 0 cyc if i had feixiao lc and e6'd march. point is even though at their best feixiao is only a little stronger than ratio, she's much more flexible than him and performs exceptionally better in an f2p scenario
I think what makes Feixiao better than Ratio is that Feixiao synergizes perfectly with the FUA team core (Topaz, Robin, Aventurine), while Ratio doesn't. Ratio needs at least 5 debuffs on the enemy to deal full damage. Ratio applies 1 himself, Topaz applies only 1, Aventurine aplies 1 with his ult, but it has terrible uptime, and Robin applies none. Best case scenario you'll have 3 debuffs on the enemy, which is not enough for Ratio to deal full damage, and most of the time you'll have only 2. If you were to take out either Topaz or Robin to place a debuffer, you'll take a MASSIVE dps loss, because even Silver Wolf, the best debuffer in the game, is nowhere near as good as them at amplifying Ratio's damage. Should Hoyo release a debuffer that is as good as Robin, with lots of different debuffs, then Ratio would be pretty much equal to Feixiao, if not better.
duran is bis for both but my salsotto pieces for ratio were cracked and actually i just didnt even have an attack or imaginary orb on duran at the time :')
Oh cool, another E2 Aventurine haver. Most ppl either busted (E0) or took em all (E6). See what I did there. I opted for E2 for my E6 Ach and didn’t go any further as E4/6 only benefits himself not the team.
Well i have to pull for robin im on the edge right now deciding to skip feixiao or not........?? If i pull robin now then i have to save until Feixiao Reruns to e2 s1 her while getting Acheron's lc and Aventurine
that's quite the list of things to get 😳 if you really like feixiao id highly recommend getting her but if you're looking for pure strength robin takes priority hope this helps! :)
I like Ratio’s design and personality more but Feixiao is really fun to use (and debuffs are annoying to keep up) so I’ve been using Feixiao lately. I haven’t abandoned my Ratio, I’m just giving him a bit of a break 💔🥲
i usually add some more vibrance, increase sharpness and tone down the film grain during editing i know you're asking for hsr but i made a video a while ago showing how you can adjust your visuals using nvidia filters (can do it with amd as well) - let me know if you're able to access the link: ua-cam.com/video/bWpoj87czzQ/v-deo.html i recommend playing around with the filters since they'll have a completely different effect in genshin compared to hsr but overall they make the game look a lot more lively and crisp
I managed to 0c MoC 12 without a lightcone on Feixiao and she still did more damage than Aventurine and Topaz combined(my Topaz is top1% on Seeleland for E0S1) i used E1 Robin tho, but still a lcless clear for a crit dps. I might upload it tomorrow.
how they both still compete, and with many FUA charas that feixiao bring along, we can still use both of them in different sides. How moze can be an option for ratio team if you dont have topaz sign or e1. Maybe just they try to take over each other robin & aven lmao
it'll be a fight for robin/aven haha but yeah im pretty happy with moze cause he unlocks ratio for a LOT of players who were lacking a debuff type support and he's almost on par with e0 topaz (if he's got his e2) great 4 star overall :)
I don't know...I just pull for fun and got her but during my testing I found out that feixiao without her LC and Robin does trash damage,my ratio still does better..
if were at a point where were comparing these two, then dr ratio wins by the mere fact that hes free LOL (i am salty i lost 50/50 on feixiao banner cryge)
i get where you're coming from but i'd say the only real advantage is he's getting is slightly more dmg% from his a6 trace (10% per debuff, which translates to a ~3.3% increase in actual damage per stack after 3 and capping at 5 for a ~6.6% increase) definitely not an inconsequential increase from having additional debuffs but also not gamechanging :)
Dude why did you compare them? I dont remember that the doctor ignored all the elements... will the doctor cope with a boss that doesn't have his element in exactly the same way?
good point! that's the main reason i compared them vs wind/imaginary enemies and im sure he'd struggle a bit more against non weakness matched since he doesn't have that toughness ignore (tho both are still subject to res% since neither have res pen/ignore in their kits)
I think Feixiao is better than Ratio in term of investment need because even with Moze you can sometimes not get his fua and with Topaz you need at least e0s1 or e1s1 to guarantee it

Ohh so that's why my numby sometimes doesnt advance at all after i hit the enemies with multiple attacks. Thats really helpful to know

duran is definitely the better set for him, but my salsotto quality is much higher than my duran (dont have a single usable atk/imaginary orb on it) so it ends up being his best option on my account!

@@Ah-wz6nn You're using Ratio wrong then. He doesn't need fua units. Debuffers like Pela, Silverwolf or Jiaoqiu + a harmony like Sparkle or Bronya give him all he needs. And E2 Moze is a cheap fua unit for him that has as many debuffs for Ratio as E1S1 Topaz

best i could do was ratio + pela + ty + hh, relying on ult fua procs with ty and hh energy battery. Replacing either ty or pela with robin in that team didn't help much either.
meanwhile feixiao robin march gall/hh got me 1 cycling with a lot of room to spare. might've even been a 0 cyc if i had feixiao lc and e6'd march.
point is even though at their best feixiao is only a little stronger than ratio, she's much more flexible than him and performs exceptionally better in an f2p scenario

I think what makes Feixiao better than Ratio is that Feixiao synergizes perfectly with the FUA team core (Topaz, Robin, Aventurine), while Ratio doesn't. Ratio needs at least 5 debuffs on the enemy to deal full damage. Ratio applies 1 himself, Topaz applies only 1, Aventurine aplies 1 with his ult, but it has terrible uptime, and Robin applies none.
Best case scenario you'll have 3 debuffs on the enemy, which is not enough for Ratio to deal full damage, and most of the time you'll have only 2. If you were to take out either Topaz or Robin to place a debuffer, you'll take a MASSIVE dps loss, because even Silver Wolf, the best debuffer in the game, is nowhere near as good as them at amplifying Ratio's damage.
Should Hoyo release a debuffer that is as good as Robin, with lots of different debuffs, then Ratio would be pretty much equal to Feixiao, if not better.

I like Ratio’s design and personality more but Feixiao is really fun to use (and debuffs are annoying to keep up) so I’ve been using Feixiao lately. I haven’t abandoned my Ratio, I’m just giving him a bit of a break 💔🥲

i recommend playing around with the filters since they'll have a completely different effect in genshin compared to hsr but overall they make the game look a lot more lively and crisp

I managed to 0c MoC 12 without a lightcone on Feixiao and she still did more damage than Aventurine and Topaz combined(my Topaz is top1% on Seeleland for E0S1) i used E1 Robin tho, but still a lcless clear for a crit dps. I might upload it tomorrow.

you can actually equip a light cone from any path! but if the character doesn't follow said path it won't have any effects (only the base stats)

i get where you're coming from but i'd say the only real advantage is he's getting is slightly more dmg% from his a6 trace (10% per debuff, which translates to a ~3.3% increase in actual damage per stack after 3 and capping at 5 for a ~6.6% increase)
definitely not an inconsequential increase from having additional debuffs but also not gamechanging :)

good point! that's the main reason i compared them vs wind/imaginary enemies and im sure he'd struggle a bit more against non weakness matched since he doesn't have that toughness ignore (tho both are still subject to res% since neither have res pen/ignore in their kits)
I think Feixiao is better than Ratio in term of investment need because even with Moze you can sometimes not get his fua and with Topaz you need at least e0s1 or e1s1 to guarantee it
yeah it can still be tough for him but im glad we have moze now with 2 innate debuffs in his kit :)
