Being honest. Your buying almost red light cars. Yellow light cars are not very far from red light. Your trying to fight buy backs for cars above 100k that are beat up. I have done a lot of diag work for small (cheap dealers) for a while. Your gambling (trying to buy really bottom dollar popular cars (10+ yrs old) and complaining when they will not buy it back. I used to get paid to go to the auction and get an assessment to the best that I can within the time given. I used to even make decisions as the car was rolling to the line. Seriously man. The fact that your having these issues is tells me , Imo your more than likely a buy here pay here. From experience it's rare to get a diamond from the cars that you buy (not saying they don't show up every now and then) its gambling. You get back the equivalent amount (effort pun in searching) that you put in. You don't disclose your lane purchases so people thinks that the auction house your talking about is bad. So your viewers are only hearing complaints. By the way flipping cars takes effort. You have to put in some work and not take somebody's word for it. Not unfair, the business takes some due diligence and knowing when to cut a loss before it gets bigger. Time and volume is the key. Don't think you can sit behind a keyboard and buy top condition cars through the yellow lane consistently because you had a few in the past. Buy green light, inspect quickly, then if bad make a claim. A test drive is not an inspection (part of it yes), that just tells you a customer with no knowledge may buy it after its been detailed. Straight flip.

I became a dealer 25 years ago. Left the business in 08 I’ll give you what I never had. Solid advice, You have no idea the scams and illegal activity that goes on at Mannheim auctions. Around 1999 when they began to monopolize the auction industry these practices began to take place. Don’t buy OVE or post sale cars. Nothing beats going in person the day before or at least 2hr before sale to inspect and track drive anything you want to bid on. This is paramount as you know you make money buying cars not selling them. Detail yourself and turn your own wrench goes a long way. Make long term plans because a successful dealer is a physically grinding business that is not long term sustainable. And for the love of god stay away from floor plans! I hope this post makes its way to you. Good luck and god speed brother.

Thank you very much for the good advice! I have definitely learned that buying cars in person is much much better. I have saved myself from a lot of bad purchases this way. And I rarely purchase from out of state now.
About flooring plan, I use it here and there....and see why I should not be using it 😅, again thank you very much for the comment! Blessings to you!

Was the Mazda sold with Guatantee green light? If so it should arbitrate talk to the regional arbitration manager not the one at that auction but usually they always side with the big volume dealers

You bought that VW as is, they don't have to disclose any issues. If it was green light then you can take it back.

They do this a lot battery inoperable is an excuse to not check. But there is no excuse for the Volkswagen.

I agree, and most of my cars come from there. The have their slip ups, but it feels like when they get something wrong it's really wrong.
