I went with mx master 3 mainly because it was having connectivity issues with my M1 mini, the better ergonomics ended up being a perk and the multiple profiles came as a pleasant surprise.
the better ergonomics are a myth, nothing beats the magic mouse ergonomics, you have to give every mouse 3 months for your hand to adapt, no matter which model, but the mechanical scrollwheels are really a hard downgrade and only useful on windows, which is another huge downgrade.i mean the resolution is a joke, nothing beats the magic mouse 360 scroll

Apple desperately need to make a "Magic Mouse Pro" that has the ergonomics of a MX Master, USB-C cable IN THE FRONT that besides charging allows non-bluetooth use with faster refresh for 120+Hz displays. Because the trackpad of the Magic Mouse still beats the crap out of any scroll wheel(s) including the MX Master.
This is a great idea. I'm an Industrial Designer and the problem with that is that it won't match the minimalist aesthetic that apple has established for the ecosystem.

Aren’t you tired to repeat that mantra? I charge my mouse once per two-three month. I can give it 10 mins to charge to work 2 days at least. Even if you forgot to charge it, plug it, go grab a coffee and you are good to go. I use my mouse ~5 hours a day, for reference.
I never thought it was a problem. Whenever I work and it gives me the low battery warning, I just plug in after I’m done with the task. Now I just occasionally plug in during breaks and it’s never an issue.
After switching to the MX Master 3 I don't think I can ever go back to using the magic mouse. I just simply programmed the thumb buttons to do the main 3 gestures I normally use and I've never once said "oh I miss..."
Thx, I'll do that for my Magic Mouse 1. When I raise the back, taping a bit of plastic underneath its rear, it already behaves better! The days of invention are over for Apple. They just add anything that seems fancy and sells. Just take somebody's iPhone, take 3D photos, make a 3D model, boolian substract it from your preferred mouse shape, print it. For tinkerers only, of course. Ask your closest FabLab or Maker Space.

Apple needs some competition in that space. I have no idea why more manufactures don’t offer 27” 5k displays for people like me who are software engineers
@UrbanBDKNY I suspect it's because the pixel density at 4K looks great in Windows and Linux on screens as big as one is likely to put in right front of themself. The industry shouldn't have to innovate solely to accommodate for what's less a lack of options in the market, and more a widely criticised issue with scaling in MacOS caused by Apple developing products in a vacuum that aren't designed to fully work independently of each other. I develop on a M1 MacBook Air and love the hardware and performance-per-watt. But it's a tool, nothing more; and if/when there's a need for a better tool, MacOS won't be the first place I look.

Maybe it has changed but windows computers don’t age well and they were too easy to hack with malware. I got tired of that and switched. Never had. A problem w malware or a computer giving me a blue screen of death and maybe window computers have gotten better but I don’t find a need to go back Linux on its own is not an option for me
@UrbanBDKNY Windows OS != Windows laptop. You still need to choose solid hardware. And Apple's computer hardware is indeed more premium than most mainstream PC hardware (ignoring GPU hardware). WSL 2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux) has changed the game, IMO. But that's not to say the developer experience is bad on MacOS; it's the everyday inconveniences of MacOS and iOS that bother me.
Not that the Magic Mouse isn't an ergonomic disaster, but until apple itself creates a new ergo-mouse or puts adapters like this in its store, it aint admitting nothing!

I always get baffled by complaints about the magic mouse. I personally love mine as it is. I've been using it for years. It's my favorite mouse. And the charge port is not an issue for me since you only have to charge it once every 3 months or so.

To YOUR situation it's not important to have a better mouse, for a video editor or graphic designer the apple mouse is mostly an obstacle to an efficient workflow
My main complaint is how uncomfortable the mouse is to use. I probably could have used it back before I tried something more ergonomic, but now that I’ve gone that direction I can’t go back haha.
the only use for that god forsaken mouse is that if you put it in your pocket it makes for a good clicker when presenting slideshows, just tap your pocket and put black tape on the sensor
If you've actually used it, it's great minus the crappy design. The gestures and scrolling actually works really well on it. But I guess it's not for everyone.
@@AndrewPL5 Hard disagree. The gestures work like shit in my opinion. Even in the Apple Keynote when they introduced it, Craig had to grab the mouse with his other hand cause he couldn't perform the gestures properly. Good proper mouse and Trackpad for left hand is much better solution.
Could have had a charging pass-through to put the port on the front. I actually love this though as you can pop it out to take the Magic Mouse on the go with its slim form factor then dock it at home in the base for extended desktop use.
I would have still liked a USB port on this thing for $29.99, even if it shuts off the mouse while charging. I just think I'm going to put something down on my desk while it's angled up during charging and snap the port on the mouse.
It's a shame how Apple didn't realise their mouse was too flat, I bought the iMac and threw the mouse away coz no body in the house wanted a flat mouse, its an absolute mockery.

However, once I forgot my Logitech and went on a trip for several days and had Magic Mouse in my backpack. I gave it second shot and it was great. Now I use it on a daily basis.

I was fully onboard until the $30 price tag. My honest opinion, that's a $15 piece of plastic at most, mainly because of production and shipping costs because that part could also probably be easily 3D printed. $30 is just taking advantage of the Apple user base.
Three reasons why I use the Magic Mouse - The ability to navigate in both x and y directions with the magic scroll (Figma, DaVinci, etc..) is quite irreplaceable. - Even with ~8 hours of daily usage, I only have to charge it once or twice a month, so charging has never been a problem. I really wonder if people who complain about the charging port have actually used these devices. - Unparalleled connectivity to Mac devices. These pro's were enough to make up for the TERRIBLE ergonomics, so I'm really looking forward to trying out this fix.

Imagine buying a wireless mouse for 20x the price of one just because it's made by Apple and called a "magic mouse" and then complaining it's uncomfortable, rich people issues.
Does that attachment come for left-handed folks like myself? That's why I can't see myself putting money in a Logitech mouse because they don't have any of the premium ones for left-handed folks.
@@martinthe3rd664 i never had a problem with the ergonomics of it. in fact I find ergonomic mice clumsy. refresh rate while not being a problem for me as a non-gamer, I could see being an issue for some others.
Is the charging an issue for you? I ask because in my experience it only needs charging every 3-4 months and warns you very far in advance when the battery is getting low - and then only takes a few hours to charge (so when down to like 5%, just charge overnight?) I'm curious as to what the challenge is for you.

I have an older Magic Mouse on an iMac that has a replaceable battery. I also recently bought a Magic Mouse (2?) for my newer M1 MacBook Pro. Other than the battery both appear to be physically identical. Maybe the recent purchase Apple mouse is not a 2?
the stand has a connector that slides in the lightning port, so the older model of magic mouse would not fit, as it does not a have a hole for that "pin"
Instead of sticking with that stupid design, i'd rather they design a magnetic charging dock that we can purchase as an add-on. That way the mouse can be docked whenever its not in use, and then detached fully charged easily. Just having it charged like a beetle on its back is ridiculous
The problem with these ergonomic mice is that they're not ergonomic at all. An ergonomic mouse should allow you to hold it with your palm facing out to the left. Your hand shouldn't be on the mouse, it should be grabbing it. If you have the carpal tunnel, you need a handshake position mouse. If you're okay with these so called ergonomic mice where your hand is still on top, then you probably dont even have carpal tunnel that badly. You're fine with no accessories at all. Enjoy the minimalistic look of Apple's Magic Mouse otherwise get a real ergonomic mouse.

i love and hate the magic mouse! They need to make a mouse with softer clicks... ugh not just a add on. I have the Logi lift so much nice then apple's.
After seeing this I placed an order and I just got it the other day (South Korea). First impression, not that bad? but considering the amount of money I spent and a few key improvements it needs, it's 2.5 star at best with $30 price tag. There are some aspects Amazon reviews didn't quite cover when I purchased this. 1.the left and right side of the mouse needs separate teflon feet, it wobbles if you press hard on your thumb or carelessly move your mouse. 2.The ridge that portrudes between thumb and index(towards thumb) just sticks out and needs to be more curved. 3.the weight distribution is off to front and needs an iron stud or some sort of weight at the palm area. 4.a thin layer of rubber or silicon around where the Magic Mouse2 could've gone a long way. All four of the points I made begs the question spending $30(w/o shipping) is justifiable. If it was $10 price range than I would've accepted this as is but $30 (lets face it 29.99 is basically 30 and thankfully shipping to Korea wasn't huge so it was about $38 but with currency exchange it feels more like $50 to me according to my credit card bill)
I actually use both the Magic Mouse and the MX3. The MX3 is my desktop and editing mouse that never moves from my station. The magic mouse is perfect to slip into my backup and use for short on the go studying or editing sessions.
I’m the complete opposite built a PC bought a 130 “gaming” mouse and it was so uncomfortable it was so light it felt so cheap and uncomfortable bumps returned it for black apple mouse and keyboard and everything is right in the world now
Having a lighter mouse can actually benefit gamers, but if you're not into gaming, you won't really need it. There's plenty of other more comfortable gaming and non gaming mice out there. Personally I don't get how the shape of the magic mouse can be comfortable for anyone, but I guess people have their own preferences.

I was fully onboard until the $30 price tag. My honest opinion, that's a $15 piece of plastic at most, mainly because of production and shipping costs because that part could also probably be easily 3D printed. $30 is just taking advantage of the Apple user base.
I have a gen 1 Magic Mouse and I am confused as to why this MouseBase would not fit on it.

Three reasons why I use the Magic Mouse
- The ability to navigate in both x and y directions with the magic scroll (Figma, DaVinci, etc..) is quite irreplaceable.
- Even with ~8 hours of daily usage, I only have to charge it once or twice a month, so charging has never been a problem. I really wonder if people who complain about the charging port have actually used these devices.
- Unparalleled connectivity to Mac devices.
These pro's were enough to make up for the TERRIBLE ergonomics, so I'm really looking forward to trying out this fix.
I tried using it, but inability to make separate button clicks was simple monstrous omission. I clicked video because I thought Apple finally fixed this problem...

Imagine buying a wireless mouse for 20x the price of one just because it's made by Apple and called a "magic mouse" and then complaining it's uncomfortable, rich people issues.
Does that attachment come for left-handed folks like myself? That's why I can't see myself putting money in a Logitech mouse because they don't have any of the premium ones for left-handed folks.

@@martinthe3rd664 i never had a problem with the ergonomics of it. in fact I find ergonomic mice clumsy. refresh rate while not being a problem for me as a non-gamer, I could see being an issue for some others.
Is the charging an issue for you? I ask because in my experience it only needs charging every 3-4 months and warns you very far in advance when the battery is getting low - and then only takes a few hours to charge (so when down to like 5%, just charge overnight?)
I'm curious as to what the challenge is for you.
@@jamesfinney8382 not a huge issue as i have spares but had i not it would since it ceases to operate during the charge and it is in a dumb location. also as it gets older charge hold times do get shorter.

ergonomi was never the problem. I can't use the damn thing while charging. that is the whole issue.

1.Speed compared to usb mouse
2.Drag drop not working
3.Middle click not working

I have an older Magic Mouse on an iMac that has a replaceable battery. I also recently bought a Magic Mouse (2?) for my newer M1 MacBook Pro. Other than the battery both appear to be physically identical. Maybe the recent purchase Apple mouse is not a 2?
the stand has a connector that slides in the lightning port, so the older model of magic mouse would not fit, as it does not a have a hole for that "pin"

Instead of sticking with that stupid design, i'd rather they design a magnetic charging dock that we can purchase as an add-on. That way the mouse can be docked whenever its not in use, and then detached fully charged easily. Just having it charged like a beetle on its back is ridiculous

The problem with these ergonomic mice is that they're not ergonomic at all. An ergonomic mouse should allow you to hold it with your palm facing out to the left. Your hand shouldn't be on the mouse, it should be grabbing it. If you have the carpal tunnel, you need a handshake position mouse. If you're okay with these so called ergonomic mice where your hand is still on top, then you probably dont even have carpal tunnel that badly. You're fine with no accessories at all. Enjoy the minimalistic look of Apple's Magic Mouse otherwise get a real ergonomic mouse.

This is a great mouse for creators I tried it with Blender and other editing software the workflow is very enjoyable though gaming with it is just no.

You can usually go months without charging.. it effects you for 2 hours per 12 months that it’s on the bottom lol

@@gregorymoore2877 exactly. Apple makes a ton of wireless stuff (keyboard, mouse, trackpad, AirPods, etc.) that you’d rarely want to use while plugged in anyways and so it barely matters where the port sits
i love and hate the magic mouse! They need to make a mouse with softer clicks... ugh not just a add on. I have the Logi lift so much nice then apple's.

After seeing this I placed an order and I just got it the other day (South Korea). First impression, not that bad? but considering the amount of money I spent and a few key improvements it needs, it's 2.5 star at best with $30 price tag. There are some aspects Amazon reviews didn't quite cover when I purchased this. 1.the left and right side of the mouse needs separate teflon feet, it wobbles if you press hard on your thumb or carelessly move your mouse. 2.The ridge that portrudes between thumb and index(towards thumb) just sticks out and needs to be more curved. 3.the weight distribution is off to front and needs an iron stud or some sort of weight at the palm area. 4.a thin layer of rubber or silicon around where the Magic Mouse2 could've gone a long way. All four of the points I made begs the question spending $30(w/o shipping) is justifiable. If it was $10 price range than I would've accepted this as is but $30 (lets face it 29.99 is basically 30 and thankfully shipping to Korea wasn't huge so it was about $38 but with currency exchange it feels more like $50 to me according to my credit card bill)

Horrible mouse. However, I love the current Apple trackpads. For PCs, I like the Corsair Ironclaw wireless mouse.

I actually use both the Magic Mouse and the MX3. The MX3 is my desktop and editing mouse that never moves from my station. The magic mouse is perfect to slip into my backup and use for short on the go studying or editing sessions.

I’m the complete opposite built a PC bought a 130 “gaming” mouse and it was so uncomfortable it was so light it felt so cheap and uncomfortable bumps returned it for black apple mouse and keyboard and everything is right in the world now
Having a lighter mouse can actually benefit gamers, but if you're not into gaming, you won't really need it. There's plenty of other more comfortable gaming and non gaming mice out there. Personally I don't get how the shape of the magic mouse can be comfortable for anyone, but I guess people have their own preferences.
@@Niels_f2704 yeah I play some games on PC but not competitive in any way I like the simple smoothness of the Magic Mouse it feels very high quality and well made. The solid feel and weight helps me have more precise control so I’m not flinging the mouse all over the place because it feels like air
@@Reebok4523 you should check out g502 from Logitech the most comfortable mouse I've used, the scroll wheel is the best I have seen in a mouse.
