    I get a lot of questions about whether I focus on my form or not, how I never get injuries or knee pain - I definitely believe running while engaging my core is what gives me the ability to run everyday without pain. I hope this answered some questions for you guys!

    I now see why core engagement is important. I found out last Friday on my run. Even my dance teacher said it and I never did it. But now I do. I must start engaging my core from now on. That’s a cheat code for sure. 👍🏻

    i love running i wanna reach 10 miles everyday!! i try to run almost everyday. atm if i ran everyday its 2-3miles. my longest was last week with 8 miles. i should start off with the 10 minute runs everyday or THREE 10 minute runs. ONE 3 mile run and ONE 8-10 mile run per week.

    Is your workout routine strictly running or do you implement other forms of training? It’s just crazy to think you built all that muscle by just running

    • @HellahGood
      @HellahGood  6 років тому +45

      No way man I didn't build it just from running.. it's a product of years and years of all different types of training, soccer, weight lifting, you name it. I played soccer my whole life and lifted heavy throughout college. I was pretty built before I started running and leaned out from there

    I’ve been running for a month and a week now. About two miles a day and 1 mile a day when I have games or practice. I’ve lost 13 pounds so far I’ve always been skinny until i was 13 and I’ve been chubby since. I’m finally starting to make a change. Thanks for motivation

    What do you do outside of training ? Working, studying? And if so when at the time of a day do you take your time to train? And for how long? (Sorry for all the questions haha, best Wishes from Sweden)

    • @HellahGood
      @HellahGood  6 років тому +3

      I graduated from college a few years ago so I work now and make my own hours which makes training easy to do at any time of the day really. I usually run first thing in the morning, do yoga at night and go to the gym at night during the week. No problem for the questions.. thank you for asking!

    I’ve started running for the past 2 weeks and I’ve noticed a lot of lower back fatigue during my run and after, it goes away after 30 min so I don’t think I’m injuring anything. Hope you can give me some advice. Love your videos and keep up the good work!

    • @HellahGood

      This video and making sure you engage your core should definitely help! I'm not a trainer so I can't promise anything but I know it's helped others as well and most trainers do tell you to engage your core no matter the exercise. Sneakers and uneven surfaces can also be to blame for back fatigue

    • @Opi395
      @Opi395 6 років тому

      I used to have lower back pain when I first upped my mileage to 100 per week for base training before marathon training cycles.
      I benefited mainly from supermans and glute bridges. Superman helps work lower abs and lower back as well as entire core. Weak glutes can also lead to lower back pain so the bridges were helpful.

    • @HellahGood
      @HellahGood  6 років тому +2

      Glad to hear it! I would say go to a specialty running store to hear more about what sneakers are best for what you're doing and the surface you're doing it on. In terms of pace.. start out slow and gradually, maybe weekly, try to take time off of your distance

      A specialized sneaker store will measure your feet/stride/gait, and recommend some shoes specifically for what you're trying to do. It's a bit more pricey than just going to a store & buying some random shoe, but it's worth it.

      Nah I couldn't "coach" someone virtually. I couldn't stand by something generic like other athletes do such as training plans that anyone can buy. I can only train someone one on one in person to do it the right way and be able to make sure exercises are being done correctly.

    I plan on going vegan during spring break are there any food suggestions or main foods I should focus on during the transition?

    • @HellahGood
      @HellahGood  6 років тому +1

      Awesome! For the transition I always suggest (if they still like and want to be able to have a similar meat taste) trying mock meats.. my favorite brand for this is always gardein.. they have all different vegan products that are great replacements like chicken patties, pizza pockets, too many things to list. I also suggest bringing it back and simplifying meals.. so say you'd usually have rice and beans with steak.. do the rice and beans and add a vegetable on the side but just eat more than you usually would if there was meat... tacos or burritos you can replace the meat with beans, refried beans.. they also have "beef" crumbles in the freezer vegan sections usually. You can find a ton of pancake/waffle recipes that you'd never know were vegan, too. Just try to replace the staples with the vegan version in the beginning. Milk to almond, coconut, organic soy milk.. butter to earth balance, can't believe its not butter vegan version, miyokos butter... Let me know if you have any other questions! If you have instagram it's usually easier for me to reply there if you do have further questions

    Hello I used to run cross country and I recently tried to run after a couple of years and my quads and hamstrings are constantly fatigued during the run do you have any tips?

    • @HellahGood
      @HellahGood  6 років тому

      That's completely normal. Your body has to adapt to the intensity that it has been missing for years. But keep it going and your body will get back into shape and the fatigue will fall away. It's all about the consistency. Don't push yourself too much to the point of pain but push yourself just to your tipping point.

      I am surprised I am so slow, I have started doing jump squats they seem to work a lot better then air squats!

  • @clray123
    @clray123 6 років тому

    Forget the core. The real question is: do you also activate pelvic muscles? As in pulling in/tightening your anus or what is known as mula bandha in yoga. It causes a kind of rising sensation of pulling the torso up from your pelvis. I suspect that this muscle activation comes first and core follows.

    why is there a gap between your abs?!?!?!?

  • @ryocunami455
    @ryocunami455 2 роки тому

    This is pretty bad man. In life there is no point in tightening your core while running it all came naturally the way our body is formed right now. Abs should be straight, close together and symetrical. So just sprinting, planks and sit ups are enough for perfect abs.
