    Lili!!! This was so thoughtfully and beautifully created. When you spoke about the post 9/11 fashion and the vulnerability the Muslim community felt in the US during that time, it brought tears to my eyes. Your generation is so healing. So unapologetic and so bent on seeking the truth. Adore this content. Keep going. Wishing you all the best!!!

    Gorgeous Educational video.
    It is so important to be aware of this topic, especially in times like these. Once 2016 came around, I decided to dress “loudly” to show where my political voice stood. I haven’t stopped because there has not been a change worth stopping for; there is still a long way to go to be heard.
    Thank you for this video

    Hey you forgot the red maga hat! Loved the video, thank you . Seems that most groups caught up in political friction weren't deliberately trying to dress politically but rather just to conform to and represent their people.. One of them days I didn't like as much it reminded me of the Friday movies which are better . I did recently see the Bob Dylan one and Amira which I both liked. Nosferatu is next

    Yes, it's defined political, because it has always moved depending on the needle of what the people believe in of its artistic times it shows, if it's time when people tend to be money driven, conservative it shows, if people start thinking nationalistic it shows, if people define themselves as slackers, like my Generation (X), it shows... not only is it political, but like anything else in politics, fashion is used as any other object of our lives at the behest of whatever political feelings and inclinations we live at.

    I don't think it should be, not everything has to be political because fashion is a form of expression and art of dressing.
    Imo making it political takes away what makes it appealing which is: a boost of confidence in what you wear and playing a part of yourself you can't express without a style,its kinda like wearing a "you" costume if that makes sense
    Before anyone starts arguing with me, pls keep in mind I said this literally before I watched the video, it's better to have an open mind than to jump into mindless conclusions and force a belief onto someone

    • @lilrotini
      @lilrotini  4 дні тому +8

      thank you for your insight & sharing your opinion!! I agree that fashion is a form of artistic expression and a great way to showcase yourself. I don't think it should take away from what makes it appealing at all, and if purely aesthetics make it appealing then I say go for it! I just wanted to provide some historical context to popular fashion trends/ pieces

      Ppl don’t “make it political” it just is political. Art is political. Whether are not you’re informed enough to realize that what goes on politically correlates with how we express ourselves, the fact that everything is political still stands.
      There are moments where fashion choices are deliberately political, but there are a lot of choices we make that we don’t even realize are tied to current political realities.
      Clean girl aesthetic, wearing modest clothing, wearing clothing that is deemed more “sexy”, black women wearing Afros, ppl who mostly thrift, trends/aesthetics that are based around being masculine or feminine, Carhartt being a big part of streetwear fashion rn, and so many other ways we express ourselves are trickle downs from politics.
