Jason, you have such extraordinary artistic talent and want to thank you for sharing this gift you have with the rest of us. Your video's are so detailed and so informative and I have learned so much from the video's. Keep them coming and Happy New Year to you!!
Thank you so very much, I really appreciate it!!! I love sharing my passion for this hobby with others! Happy modeling!!!
Good evening 🌆 Jason!
Can You give a recommendation on how to paint polyurethane surfaces? I got a piece of polyurethane retaining Wall in the (random stone format)! Do You have a video or suggestion for painting such material?
Regards,
RR
What brushes are you using for your pastel application? Are they flat brushes that you have trimmed down to just stubs?
Sorry, but I think it looks like a caricature of a real water tower, however that's on Rusty Rails not you.
Just bought $50 worth of Rusty Rail Castings! I'm working on a Steam Works kit that needs lots of Junk!!
That's awesome! I absolutely love Rustyrail.com . Happy modeling!!!
Nice techniques and tips!
Thank you so much for watching!!!
Great looking water tank! You did a marvelous job of painting and weathering it. You have a great eye for detail and it certainly shows in the end result!
Thank you so much Tom!!! I really appreciate it! 👍
I just ordered the kit and this is what I informed Mr Rusty...
Ordering Instructions
I bought this after watching Jason Jensen Trains on UA-cam....
Thank you
Best regards
Spanky.
Jason,
If I like the kit a hope to order assemble and paint, several and send them to my old veterans friends that are to old and shaky build to paint!
Happy Rails.
So great to hear that I inspired you!!! Have fun and happy modeling Spanky!!!
Thanks Jas, just got this kit in the mail along with some other of Ricks kits down in Oz
Looking forward to starting, your video was a great help.
Cheers. Aaron.
Thanks for watching and happy modeling Aaron!!!
I really enjoyed this one !!!...I think a neat detail to add, would be a smokestack...these old water towers, with the shack, and woodpile, generally had a wood stove to help keep tank from freezing !..
Thanks for watching Tim!!! It was fun to work on!
Hi Jason,
I'm a fairly new subscriber and I just want to say that your work is absolutely amazing. A couple months ago I finished building a N Scale wooden laser cut kit.
After seeing your videos, particularly the videos on the FOS diorama, I really wish I had have used your technique to give it an old look.
I would really love to see you do a N Scale structure and also do a freight car. It would be interesting to see if these techniques will have the same effect on a freight car.
Do you have a model train layout? If so, is it possible you could do a video on it?
Looking forward to seeing more.
Dan
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!! I do not have a layout right now. As far as N scale work you may want to check out a UA-cam channel called Ron's Trains N Things. Awesome videos all about N scale.
Yeah I'm subscribed to Ron.
Also, do you seal your structures with dull coat once they are finished?
I NEVER spray a dull coat on my structures. It's not necessary because you dont handle the structures once there done.
4 hrs!! Wow I done a few of those towers think last one took me 45 min but I mostly airbrush some pastels not sure they look as good as yours but they look pretty close .. I BUILT SOME Fos scale models those tested my patience to the limit!! 😆
Thank you so much for watching Leo!!! Happy modeling!
@@JasonJensenTrains Jason you have take modeling into the realm of fine art! Your craftsmanship is just superb 👌 I am just happy if get anything finished its looks good enough 😊

You have patience and a steady hand for doing such intricate details. Love the gradations on the stone walls. Your finished unit is as close to perfect replica as I've ever seen !! Great work, thanks for sharing your expertise and experience to assist others.
Thank you for the kind words and Thank you for watching!!!
Thanks Jason, your modeling is ALREADY at the next level!
Thank you so much!!!
great video. learned a lot of a different way to go about painting. such as the layering technique you use. thanks for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching!!!
Great kit Jason. I've seen many old tanks that sat directly on the beams. I like that better. All in all, super job.
Thank you so much Craig!!! I appreciate you watching so many of my videos!!! 👍
Your videos are WORTH watching. At 74 I keep learning ...lol
Jason, your work is so outstanding! Thanks for showing everybody how you do this type of modeling!
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!!!
Gosh, Well Done,Sir
A terrific video. A real pleasure to watch a true artist. Many thanks Jason.
Thank you for this detailed and awesome Video tutorial
Your welcome and thank you so much for watching !!!
Not happy with the water tower kit. To many bubble pockets and broken ladder.
Looks like this one was cast with a old mold.
No instructions were with the kit. I know it does not take rocket surgery to figure it out. At least a picture of how it should look would have helped.
On the plus side fast shipping.
Sorry to hear that. You can always contact Rick the owner. He's a great guy! He may help you out. I've filled holes in castings with Liquid Nails. It works really well.

Using putty and touching it up!
You have to be real careful when cleaning this kit.
So far the paint work is turning out nice!
Thank you fir your response.
Spanky
I wish there was a way to send you photos of what I have accomplished!
Jason. Rick at Rusty Rails too good care of the issue!
Happy Railroading!
Why wouldn't there be rust stains on the wood underneath the tank?
Adding rust stains on the deck would look great!!!
OUTSTANDING!!

That's awesome!!! Have fun!
Looks perfect!!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate Martin!!!
Nicely done
Thank you so much!!!
