I've already commented on another video that skipping medication is not a good idea in itself, so I don't want to harass you. That being said, if you decided to go ahead anyways, you should definetly do it under doctor's control and more frequent testing, especially since you cut the dosage by 66%, which is not nothing. They can't force you to take your meds, but at least they will catch early when something is about to derail. I don't see why would you also remove that layer of reasonable protection on top of this risky exercise. It's not about the unhappy doctor, it's about you.
45:23 is exactly why i have decided not to date while my children are young. So many men do not care when you are on mom duty and have to care for your children at home. They expect you to just be at their beck and call, even when they aren't consistent with their own actions. Huge turnoff. No thank you!
It's ultimately your choice if you want to lower the frequency with which you take your ARVs, but I will just say that you looked significantly healthier during your podcast 2 weeks ago. For what the opinion of an internet stranger is worth to you, I honestly don't think you're doing yourself any favours by cutting back. I'm neither a doctor nor a virologist, but if I were to hazard a guess I'd say that your viral load is sharply increasing and your CD4 count is sharply decreasing. Again, this is all ultimately your choice, but I don't think medication reduction is a good idea.
I've watched your previous podcast. The specialists in HIV care I'm sure would have said you don't need to take a daily tablet. I'll follow your journey and will be interested to learn if your reduced dosage continues to keep you undetectable.
Thank you for being so transparent! I’ve dabbled with this for various reasons and access issues in a very structured way and yes I could feel all the crap coming back slowly. I know my body so well but it’s manageable and we have to consider that we could lose access at any moment due to wars etc., supply chain issues.. this isn’t talked about enough.
I got emotional when you were talking about Owen's senior night & having his dad there when 6 months ago, things looked bleak. I am so glad y'all got to experience that as a family! I pray he continues to stay sober & can be present in all of these milestones & memories.
You actually dont have to identify as an alcoholic to attend AA meetings. Their literature says the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. "Hi, I am -- - - - and I am an alcoholic" is a customary greeting, but not required.
Hey!! I was the one who recommended the Deva Curl. I never use the Deva curl gel alone either. I always use my anti frizz oil and brush it through (before using the gel.) Then I twist my hair in large sections around my fingers to get the curl pattern started back (since I brushed the antifrizz stuff through). Then I bend my head over and scrunch the gel into my hair all over. Then I flip it back over and scrunch more. I sometimes just let it dry naturally and sometimes I diffuse it with my head upside down. If I have a long day ahead and I don’t want it to frizz at all throughout the day, I will give my hair a couple sprays of Tresemme Flawless Curls hair spray. I just wanted to mention this so you know what works for me with the Deva Curl gel since my hair’s curl pattern looks similar to yours.
Thank you for this. Yeah, I did try it alone and it worked pretty good, but I just feel more confident with a few other products as well (just like you). :)
wow jen you really are spoiling us lately with these frequent uploads! i’m soooo happy you have no idea lol. i remember a while back you said there was this tiktoker you loved to watch and whenever she uploaded you would get so excited- that’s how i feel when i see a new podcast from you! i ate my chipotle burrito while listening to this one 😊 i apologize in advance for what will be a majorly long comment but i have so much to say for this one lol … first of all i wanna say thank you so much for all you do for the little ones. i can see how deeply you care for them and what a nurturing heart you possess. your last podcast “i miss my mom” moved me to tears. my son hasn’t been officially diagnosed with autism but it’s been suspected by his speech therapist (he’s still a bit young for a formal diagnosis but i expect to receive an autism 1 diagnosis one day in the future). it’s my biggest hope that he will be surrounded by teachers like you who are so exceptionally caring and patient. you deserve so much good for all you do! children with special needs are often neglected and resented for being born different as if they had a choice to be living a more difficult experience! it’s such a shame. may you be infinitely blessed for what you do jen, your heart is so in it and i really really love to see that. they honestly do not make women like you anymore! 🤍
also: the fire fighter still messaging you kills me!! 😂 thank you for sharing with us because that was truly the most bizarre saga and i STILL re listen to the whole thing because wtf! it would be hilarious for you to see him again or even cancel on him but that’s too petty 😅😅 best to just ignore him like you’re doing
Hi Jennifer I have a question to asking you about HIV in the US, I’m French and from France and I would like to live in the US that’s my dream, I live also with HIV virus but I don’t know if medication supplies is free in USA or I have to buy it ? Do you need a private health care ? Because I’ve seen we can use Medicare with Part B plan for not pay HIV medications.
Yes, HIV medicine is free for migrants regardless of immigration status. Here are some resources that can help migrants access HIV care: Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) RWHAP-funded organizations provide free or low-cost care for people with HIV, regardless of immigration status. Eligibility policies vary by jurisdiction. Health centers Health centers provide HIV testing, PrEP, and medical care to patients regardless of their ability to pay.
I'm pretty sure that you can get medication without insurance, but it will be costly. Insurance could pay for it fully, or pay a part of it, but you would still have to pay partly out of pocket. It is going to depend on the type of insurance you get & what state you choose to live in.
What she means is that you are in the Wavy hair category 2b or 2c but definitely not a 3 if you were you wouldn't put just anything in your hair, curly hair is more difficult, and mentioning that she was POC was uncalled for
It was only "uncalled" for if they were purposely being an azzhat. Sarcasm is fun sometimes. Anything over a 2c in hair texture is POC hair typically but there are some POC that have finer hair than non-POC.
She was ready to tell you that you calling your hair curly was cutlural appropriation but in the end she thought better be subtle and so she decided to educate you and inform you that your hair is actually wavy. What a sweatheart!
Leigh please do not cut down on ur meds I don't know the history to why u're cutting down but you're looking considerably slim and little fatigued. Have you consulted ur doc for this cutting down
Is it possible for someone to be tested positive later say after 1 yr or more considering 4th generation test negative after 4 weeks from brief exposure and also considering no risky behaviour after that specific exposure
Thank you for sharing your hair products. I just ordered the shampoo and conditioner. I’m gonna start with that. I may pick up some moose if I can’t find any in my basement lol thinking I don’t have any lol really enjoy your videos and by the way you drinking coffee I had to go make myself some even though it’s in the afternoon totally addicted to coffee lol good luck on your Journey of getting on with the school district would definitely help to get paid during the summer and holidays and if you have snow days like we do lol you don’t have snow days probably lol we have them here in Ohio. Good luck please keep us updated.
Have already commented on why an HIV specialist will not advise to reduce the frequency of medication. Simply , over time only taking a tablet every 3 days will not suppress the virus and will cause it to replicate. Respect HIV , don't think you are bigger than HIV, it will always win. I hope Leigh realises the implications of what she is doing, don't act as though you know more than the medical experts simply because you are HIV

You remain undetectable by adhering to your ARV's on a daily basis. Cannot understand why you are deliberately compromising your health
