Another awesome video! I’m sparring today, too. When you slip, you lean back a bit too much, which can leave you off-balance and open to follow-up shots. Also, you sometimes go unnecessarily low when slipping (6:02-6:03, 6:13-6:19). Try keeping your movements tighter and more efficient. Besides that, keep working on the stuff I mentioned before. You’re looking better every day, champ!

Thank you! I will work on all of this. It will take time, but I hope to improve even more. What kind of sparring do you guys do?

@burpyTKDI do sparring that includes striking, kicks, punches, clinching, and sweeps-similar to kickboxing and Muay Thai. I haven’t been grappling much lately, but I’m hoping to start again after the Christmas break

Amazing. Is it an MMA gym? Or Muay Thai?

@burpyTKD Well, it used to be an MMA gym, but now they’ve split it into stand-up/Muay Thai and Jujutsu on separate days

Well you're Canadian - why stop watching hockey? I mean your market for hockey up there is as much our market for football is down here. Have you ever played hockey before? I can't skate that well but the closest thing I've done is floor hockey in gym. There's also the addage I've heard that when one has a background in martial arts, they will generally do better at other sports - why do you think is? I trust some TKD skills and routines would enable one to be better at basketball or volleyball for example lol.
Ouch, you've bled in TKD and boxing - well what context in TKD is there bleeding and what happens when there is? I assume a match is stopped right away when that occurs. To me watching UFC and blood isn't exactly appealing - it seems more violent than boxing lol. I find it fascinating how some boxers will get up before a ten count to keep going if they are injured. Helmets help right or what's your view on using boxing helmets? Well rough housing in 9th and 10th means just jostling or wrestling around with ones friends, I trust you did a lot of that in ninth and tenth? Good luck on those senior finals.

You watch every UFC PPV? That must cost quite a bit - do you follow any specific competitors? I personally find UFC more brutal - I mean a fight is permitted to continue even with bleeding? No other sport permits that and how would UFC not have internal bleeding? With the amount of kicks and elbows - I wouldn't be too surprised. Do you enjoy doing face shots? One can be safe by just body boxing honestly - besides in TKD there's not many strikes to the face either? Well do make the effort to record when you have friends over. How do you like rough housing and how common was that in ninth and tenth?

It can seem more brutal, but you're also mixing that up with takedowns and grappling, so they are not always getting hit. Boxers have passed away because of the head trauma, but not in the UFC. Continuing a fight with bleeding is in boxing and UFC, but that's better than continuing a fight after a KO, which boxing does.

Have you tried shadow boxing? Its a great workout and lesser risk than regular boxing. We do it sometimes in my class and do you agree with the whole match continuing despite blood in UFC? To me that part just turns me off, I mean who wants to grapple or get soaked in another's blood right? Doesn't seem very sanitary. Being Canadian though, surely you must watch hockey more than UFC right? That is what your country is known for. I'm confused, how does a fight continue in boxing if there's a KO? There's also less bleeding in wrestling and boxing than UFC. None in TKD almost heh.
How do you like rough housing with your peers and how common was that in ninth and tenth? The new dojo uploads are great - what about a clip of you teaching a class? Try to get some new mat content in that room set up this weekend. Being busy doesn't preclude you from dropping in your friends jiujitsu class for one lesson?

Of course I've done shadow boxing, great way to warm-up and get a feel for the punches 👍 Yes, I've bled in boxing and taekwondo fights, and they teach you how to push through adversity. Don't worry too much about UFC, they have a commision who stops it when it gets to bloody, but for the most party, UFC fights aren't that bad. I used to watch Hockey, but not much anymore. Watch some boxing fights. There's a 10 second count after every KO, and if you can get up, the fight continues right after you just got a concussion. I was only doing taekwondo in grade 9 and 10, if that's what you are asking. It's finals week, so i'll see what I can do. It does right now sadly. 🥲
