We know you love SIG but at the end of the day you’ll keep it buck. I recently got some Signess as well. First firearm I ever purchased and never had issues but put it away due to drama. Took time to do research on how it works to have peace of mind.

Great content. I’m not the biggest fan of Sig (probably cause the good stuff isn’t in my budget). I did buy a 22lr Sig handgun for my son to shoot and he likes it. I’m in the Army Reserve, so I got to shoot the hell out of the M17/M18 a couple of weeks ago at the qual range. It was ok. I like shooting my Caniks better. I will say those M17s and M18 stood up to some punishment. We put over 5,000 rounds spread out between 8 firearms and there were 0 malfunctions. That impressed me.

Wondering what's the effective weight reduction, as on their website they report the weight with mag for the new iteration, while for the .308 version the reported weight is without mag.
Also, I refuse to believe that the previous iteration is no longer forward compatible. That would be ridiculous.

@tony so far as recoil on the fuse what do you think about it ? Like without being sig biased tho sig is my top 3 fav company but you never spoke on the recoil like I got the x macro love it but dislike the hellcats recoil so much and being the fuse slide isn’t ported is the recoil a bit much
My bad I should of spoke on that, the recoil is not bad at all. Not being funny but like I honestly feel like that is why I didn't bring it up because it really wasn't a factor or something that I felt overbearing. So as you know I got the Hellcat Pro Ported and XMacro, I would say I prefer the XMACRO more especially since it is a LEGION Metal framed compared to the Poly Hellcat. But I do prefer the Hellcat ported over the regular Xmacro ported. I really do like the fuze and I feel like they will eventually port that one too, when they port that as well as make a metal framed module it is going to be A1. But overall the recoil is not bad at all if anything the longer slide reduced it.

If what he says is true about the 308 spear not being able to accept the 6.8x51 barrel I will be getting rid of my 308 spear and never buying another SIG firearm again. I was told by SIG customer service that once the barrels were available my current 308 spear would accept the 6.8x51 barrels without any issue.
Ya I am going to double check on that one too. Apparently the NEW spear will have 308 caliber down the road. The old SPEAR which I have too is not forward compatible but the new one is backwards compatible.
@@2WildGuns According to SIG customer service they are stating that the current 308 models are intended to have exchange kit to accept the 6.8x51 barrels in the future. The comemorative spear models ($7k versions) will not be able to do any Caliber Xchanges though due to the changes in the lower and upper receiver designs as those were the firearms that were released prior to the NGSW contract being awarded. Which makes some sense as the gentleman in the video references the contract had not been awarded yet. If we wall remember the Spear 308s was released over a year after the contract was awarded. Again this was customer service not a product manager speaking. Hopefully this was all a mix up and us early spear adopters will get our 6.8x51 exchange kits in the near future.
Not saying you are wrong, I am quiet positive that the 308 versions will get 6.8 kits down the road. But the NGSW will come in 308 and 6.5 down the road, as well as a barrel kit as well. The first night there was a big dinner where they went over everything and had a presentation going on, they mentioned the modularity and the fact that the Spear(NGSW) can change calibers with a simple barrel swap and that those options will be coming in the future. They are still selling BOTH of them so they are still supporting both so I think everyone is fine. It is like you said, its like a P320 and a M18/M17 you can buy both and both are supported but the M17/M18 has a different slide I believe.
