With the all-new KONA, Hyundai Motor has brought its commitment to sustainable mobility and technology-led design thinking to expand its EV offerings - innovated and advanced by the award-winning IONIQ lineup - while also meeting the diverse mobility needs of its customers with a variety of powertrains.
The all-new KONA has evolved into a larger yet still urban-centric SUV with bolder styling that conveys a more dynamic road presence and driver-centric interior. To provide maximized ‘living space’ for customers, the all-new model grew to 4,355 mm in length, which is 150 mm longer from the previous generation, based on the EV variant. It also gained 25 mm in width and 60 mm in wheelbase length compared to the outgoing model without losing any of its iconic design identity.
Unlike most vehicles that are made available with a variety of powertrains, the KONA started with the EV variant design, which was then adapted the design for the ICE, HEV and N Line models. This unconventional approach allowed Hyundai to bring tech-centric design thinking to all KONA variants. Despite the shared architecture, EV, ICE/HEV and sporty N Line model has distinctive futuristic styling.
The all-new KONA’s clean, distinctive nose characterizes the front section’s pure volume, which contributes to the model’s smooth aerodynamic performance. The pure volume is highlighted by the stretched Seamless Horizon Lamp, which is pixelated on the EV variant, marking the first Hyundai model with a Pixelated Seamless Horizon Lamp that adds to the EV’s distinctive character. KONA’s use of Parametric Pixels also propagates a distinctive design element from Hyundai’s popular EV lineup.
here are several styling variations between the powertrain variants. The EV gets pixel graphic details on the intake grille and rear bumper, a pixel-inspired 19-inch alloy wheel design, black embracing line and optional black side mirrors and roof. The ICE and HEV share a bold and rugged bumper and skid plate design, and black wheel arch cladding. The N Line boasts optional black side mirrors and roof, wing-type spoiler, more aggressive front and rear designs with wing-shaped bumper to emphasize a lower stance, distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels, twin muffler and silver side skirt.
The all-new KONA’s larger interior ‘living space’ provides practical features and an evolved in-car experience to accommodate diverse lifestyles. The EV-derived universal architecture accommodates a sporty layout with floating horizontal C-Pad to emphasize KONA’s slim and wide interior, providing a versatile space for driver and passengers.
The 12.3-inch dual wide displays and floating module impart a high-tech impression. Ambient lighting enhances the user experience and convenience. With the column type shift-by-wire relocated from the center console to behind the steering wheel, it provides an uncluttered layout and additional space for belongings in the central tunnel.

During my recent visit to Hyundai to check out the new Kona, I was disappointed by the quality of the interior. Although the steering wheel and infotainment, as well as the space inside and in the boot, were satisfactory, the interior seemed to be of poor quality. Even though I don't have anything against plastic, the plastic used on the doors and other areas where you put your hands and elbows felt cheap and looked unappealing. Considering it's the price of the Tucson, this level of quality seems unacceptable. If the price range were to be between 20k-25k, the overall quality of the car would be more reasonable.
Besides Tucson, you can get a Nissan Qashqai, Mazda CX-30, Kia Sportage, or Cupra Formentor 1.5TSI for a similar price.
Tucson price will probably increase with the restyling.
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏
Very futuristic looking car reminds me of robocop. Sat in one today felt very spacious but eerie inside I just wish that centre console was higher like the Tucson. I like it very on trend. Great video as usual sir, you never have a bad word to say about cars👍🏻.
We just ordered one after doing a test drive last week. Re Apple carplay I connected mine throught Bluetooth so no need for a wire.
Cool 👌
do you know how long you have to wait?
Does this have heads up display option? Thanks for review
About the seats, in Spain, the top version called N-Line Style comes with Alcantara seats, heating and ventilation.
Thanks for info 👍🙏Sounds great
This car would be perfect, if it only had a second motor for AWD!
👍
This is the best review video of the kona 2024 on the internet and I watched A LOT of them!
Thanks for feedback my friend 🙏🤗really appreciate
Very impressed. Love to see it .Many thanks for all information
Thanks also 🙏
Can the infotainment display be turned off temporarily?
Yes 👍
Wow cars 🚗 😳 😍 😕 Hyundai kona n line 🚗 😳 😍 😕 🎉😊
👌😁
The 4 dots on the steering wheel are morse code which would make the H for "Hyundai"
Thanks for info 👍🙏
I ordered the Basic Model of the 2023 Kona Hybrid my one is going to have The Multimedia System and The Bluelink app that I have already downloaded on my iPhone and mine is going to be a automatic.I’m so excited I can’t wait for my 2023 Kona hybrid to arrive in October-November this year😍💖😁🚙
Nice 👌
The 4 dots on the steering wheel are morris code for the letter "H" for Hyundia
Cool 😁 Thanks for tip
*Morse
4 dots in Morse Code stands for "H" so Hyundai? Not sure about it. Thumbs up for the great review, very detailed.
Thanks 🙏 yes is the morse code i have also find out 👍
Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the video of you test driving the car. I had a test drive of the hybrid version last week and was quite impressed with it.
Thanks 🙏 Will come soon 👍👍
Thank you for this very informative video. Very helpful! I look forward to your video on a test drive. I’m hoping the ev version will be faster than the hybrid version which I think you said had a 0-60 time of 11 seconds. It would be interesting to see a video comparing the new Kona ev with an Ioniq 5.
Yes i plan to make many videos about them 👍
Nice informative video, loved it. Typical Hyundai! Tonnes of useless features (gimmicks) but like you said, bare essentials are missing like 'map view' on driver display, auto headlamp height adjust to name a few. I'm also sure the car comes with all the "bells and whistles" in the literal sense! The moment you step into a Hyundai/Kia, you will be annoyed with all the audible dings. May be you can show in your driving video
Hello. Good video. At the Steering wheel, the 4 dots are the H letter from Hyundai i MORSE (* * * *).
Oh Nice 👌 Thanks for info
Very interested about fuel consumption in city driving and then highway driving
Next days will do the teatime drives and tests 😁👍
Re Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Hyundai has negotiated an agreement for iOS and Android phones to connect via Bluetooth in the near future (I understand the new Kona range will have systems automatically updated in the near future). Also many of the previous Hyundai models sold in recent years will be updated at services later in 2023. I was given this information by a dealer salesperson in Australia recently when looking at a new Kona in a showroom.
Nice 👌 Let’s hope they will bring it. Thanks Robert for info
We have wireless now on the new Kona. I drove out of the showroom with my buddy, android and apple wireless already working. Updates coming for versions without it OTA
@@sachah2400 This confirms what I was told by a dealer in Australia. I also found multiple references to the availability of wireless when I Googled it. It surprises me that many reviews on UA-cam never highlighted what was reported months ago.
@@robertmuster1350 Shame Kia won't be getting this update, I read Kia won't even add this on future versions of current cars.
They seem to have shafted their customers with a lot of features (outside of America) we don't even get digital key on the Niro etc.
I think using cable works fine. 🙂 Never had any problem with that.
Are heated and lumbar seats only available in the trim you reviewed? Also, nice job. Good thorough review.
Thanks 🙏 iam not sure but i plan to review all options
What color is this?
i orderd the premium hybrid en they have ventilation seats in the front. (netherlands)
Nice 👌 Thanks for info 😁I want to see also the ventilated seats
This model it's a open sky model?
Can’t remember exactly 😪 i think was almost full option
Does it have an option for heads up display?thanks
Consumption test asap please
Sure will come soon 👍👍
Will hyundai do a hybrid version of the kona in Canada
Is there any chance you can show what the different dashboard modes look like?
What can be hung on the magnetic zone?
To be honest i dont know 😁
Nice kona hyundai
👍
Oh wow so great 👍 and very beautiful 😍❤️ and the engine 🚂🚒 very strong and powerful for the off 🛣️ road 💪🛣️ or high way and very good design with the new 🆕 technology for the new 🆕 generation hument and very easy to drive and comfortable❤.
👍👍
Thanks for Your Work
Very Good Video ❤
Thanks also for feedback 🙏
Excellent video explained very thoroughly and simply especially the settings side which I find very confusing. Now I can’t wait to get mine.
I am looking for information about the quality of materials inside, the plastics, because i have the Bayon and its very cheap quality inside, how about the new Kona? Because i am thinking to buy this new version, but of course i wanna know the interior quality.
Quality on Kona is better then Bayon 👍
So, the more upper trim levels doesn't have automatic starting? 😕😒
Depend on what country you are the trims are different
Also, most cars here in America, on their top trims, have vented seats. There are small little perforations in the seats, and a fan in the seats blows the cold up through the perforations!
Yes this should have also but not sure on what version. Or maybe come only in other countries
in the UK the top spec EV comes with ventilated seats. same with the Kia Niro.
Yea i know 👍
The dots are Morse code for H
Thanks 🙏😁
❤hi,, very nice video,,thank
Color ?
Can’t remember exactly 😪
I think Amazon grey
Audio much better now.
Thanks for feedback 👍 We will do again when will have the car out
Look like this can be the best interior, compare to other new cars. With a mix of physical buttoms and touch screens. At least I think it seems to be real good.
really cheap plastic on the doors etc though. doesn't feel nice inside compared to the Niro.
@@Dreadpirateflappy Ok. But in the sence easy of use, it seems to be good.
@@krestdorl1697 I fully agree. despite my feelings on the plastics it's still top of my list. crazy amount of car for the money.
Do you have information about the audio quality. What is the audio quality without the BOSE speakers?
I will test also the normal version soon 👍
@@SDADanCars thank you. I'm wondering about the differences. I've ordered "hybrid comfort smart" EU. Without BOSE speakers.
Thanks for your thoroughness!!
Thanks also for feedback 🙏🤗
Will it be the inside the same in the full electric version? I'm very sad about this new version. :( Less space where i liked it (center console, armrest) and more where i don't need it (back seats, trunk) And why vanished the sunglasses holder? I like my 2020's electric version much more better.
I think will be little different in the interior … at least the seats but in general probably same
With the hybrid models, the pads are to change gears only in sport driving mode. In eco mode they change the regenerative braking level.
Thanks for info 🙏 👍👍
And as far as I read, the EV version rear floor will be completely flat.
Thanks for your extensive review! I am waiting for mine, and I wanted to see the menus in detail, you did a great review!
