    His wrs dropped at least 3-4 first down conversions and jones was letting pressure all night and blowing it on run plays that would’ve kept us on schedule. Plus, fields gave us the lead. Not putting that game on him at all.

    As a WR myself I’ll tell you that each throw could’ve been better but both FB and TE CANNOT slow down when looking back for the ball… they were literally 1 step away from a TD on both of the first throws. As a Receiver I’m taking the blame for that because we have to get into our stride when tracking the ball.

    • @maggiemay5221
      @maggiemay5221 12 годин тому +4

      Thank you somebody who knows how to track a ball. Diving A. Slows your momentum down And slows you down B. Makes the play harder. That bell hit Heyward in the hands above his head on the dive. So slowing your momentum down and ball landing there tells me if you just run through it that’s a catch.

      His point on throw 1 the receiver was already looking for the ball before Fields threw it. His footwork is a bit messy still and he doesn't just step into a throw at the back of his drop, he still has to reset his feet. Throw 2 it looks like Washington slows down to adjust b/c the throw is on a rope and outside (watch the endzone cam replay).

      I’m not a Steelers fan and haven’t seen every game, but, of those I’ve seen, GP loafs whenever he’s not the primary receiver. AJ Brown of the Eagles loafs too if he knows the ball isn’t coming to him.

      @@sdd1588I agree with everything you’ve said. There was an All-Pro CB that played for the Vikings about 10 years ago. I can’t remember his name, he was really good. Not on the same level as Revis, but damn close. He said in an interview that he knew when Julio Jones was getting the ball because Julio would redo his gloves as he came up to the line and, if Julio didn’t, he wasn’t getting the ball and the CB adjusted his coverage accordingly. I have to think DBs throughout the league notice these things and it makes it more difficult to complete passes to the other WRs. 🤷🏽‍♂️

But this is your QB for the next decade. Don't bring in a one year rental in Russ to disrupt Fields growth. • @brianpawlowski1289
    @brianpawlowski1289 9 годин тому +2

    When I watch the Steelers, their QB is not their only issue (and not their biggest issue). On offense, they have a line issue and receiver issue. Pickens can be elite but his effort lacks. The TE is very good and reliable, but he's no elite athlete putting fear in a defense. And the rest of the receivers are playing their role, which is not very much of one. They're banged up at RB. Harris is tough, but he has no explosiveness. So you have a beat up mediocre line, with one explosive player (Pickens) who does not always give full effort. Fields had his worst game, no doubt. But I think that shows more that he is the engine that creates a spark for this lame offense. Not sure Wilson is elevating this offense to be more explosive. But who knows? What I think nobody is talking about, but should be, is just how bad their defense has been in these losses. Yes, they created turnovers... but those were in the redzone. Dallas moved the ball, ate up the clock and prevented the Steelers offense from ever getting in a rhythm. So that turnover stat in the beginning of this video sounds nice. But it would have been much better if the defense held them to punt all those times. Dallas punted 1 time on Sunday night. The Colts moved the ball as well. I'll give the defense credit that they have playmakers and they came up big to keep this game closer than it could have been. But the Steelers defense has some issues they need correcting. You can't rely on getting this many turnovers on your side of the field. I know QB controversies are headline material, but this team has had many issues these past 2 games. Back to the offense, it's been clear that Arthur Smith needs to call a perfect game with these players.

    Chase my man. I have to ask this question. Why is Fields not entitled to a bad game compared to every other QB in the NFL??? He is the most scrutinized, critiqued and hated QB now matter what he does. When you played for the Bears you blew a game against the Giants. I'll never forget that. But as a fan, I didn't hold it against you. Despite how Fields played. He gave them a damn lead twice againt the Cowboys. The last lead with 4 minutes left. The Steelers defense couldn't close and it Fields fault? They have a decimated Oline due to injuries and it's pitiful. Especially RT Jones. The man doesn't know what a block looks like at all. The receiver room is crappy. Sounds like what he dealt with in Chicago. You and others need to stop making Fields the scapegoat when it's clear the Steelers offensive issues are bigger than Fields. Lastly, I don't see how the slower and less mobile Wilson will be able to fair any better with that pitiful Oline. Make it make sense man.

    Question, would we show Dak's poor INT throws and fumble (lost) and conclude he should be benched or yield to backup? Answer, obv not as it would be cherry picking a small overall sample size. Fields didn't have a great game after progressing for 4 weeks straight - it happens. Some of the fumbles I believe he's statistically responsible for on season were simply botched snaps not actually fumbling the ball. He's had some bad drops by WRs in this game and others and awful line protection (seen in your first highlight here among others). He absolutely doesn't deserve to benched after one subpar game else let's go ahead and bench Aaron Rodgers et al after last weekend too. Give him another game to see if he can bounce back then decide for week 7.

    This looks a lot like what he did in Chicago. Some really great plays by Fields, plus some head scratchers and a fumble. Add to that poor support from the OL and receivers and there we go. Better receiver play would have made a difference. Better OL play may have addressed some of the head scratching plays. But for now, this is the Steelers offense, which is ranked 5th worst in the league. I feel like the OL issues will get fixed and Justin will continue to improve so there’s reason for optimism, but we still have a WR problem that I don’t know how to fix. The catch radius for anyone not named George or Pat is too small to give Justin the support he needs to excel.

    Also Pickens effort and concentration are obviously a massive problem hampering the entire offense’s development. The drop and lack of running his routes with conviction even when he isn’t getting ball shows that.

      @@jtfike Dude is crazy!! Ryan Poles never gave Justin any weapons, he went and got 3 quality receivers for Caleb, a whole new experienced offensive staff for Caleb; he gave Justin Luke Getsy = an OC who'd never called or designed plays before in his life! 😂
      Ryan Poles never intended on Justin succeeding. Hell, Ryan made sure he wouldn't succeed. 😂

      There go the Justin Fields band camp🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣all I'm saying is there is no improvement even on a new team. All I'm saying is he can't process his reads fast enough and make the right decision fast enough. If he having the same problem on a new team it's probably the QB🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️Caleb processing everything and making the the right reads better and better and only 5 games in doing it better the Justin did while he was here. I didn't think I had to explain that but ok. Whatever. He got the all 22 on both QB. AGAIN. The tape never lie. Watch some and understand how football work.

    He missef 2 touchdown throws and fumbles every game. Russ is a better QB and he needs to be playing
