- We thought we would show you a little bit of our daily life in India. We picked up breakfast and enjoyed some masala dosa. Prasanth's dad gave Aleyka a gift and we went to the grocery store to see what we could find. Hope you enjoy watching our daily life in Kerala India.

We are an Indian and American couple who are sharing our journey through life as an intercultural/interracial couple. Margaret is from Mississippi, USA and Prasanth is from Kerala, India. We currently live in New York. We started this channel so our family and friends can see our daily lives and to meet other couples like us. We can't wait to get to know you all.

One thing I really miss about the old Kerala is home cooked meals, When I used to visit Kerala when I was younger our grandmother would make all our meals from scratch. Now everything is made from instant mix packets or ordered online to be delivered by Swiggy.

@@maryaugustine6246 Even the domestic help that is hired refuses to make food from scratch. They demand the quick versions of food items for easy preparation or they refuse to cook at all.
Grandmother generation's became real old and difficult to cook.. and younger generations have jobs.. less time to cook.. so convenience

It’s really wonder to see how Maggi is too adaptive to the cultural diversity of a typical Hindu family.you are just amazing dear Maggi. You too Prasanth so amazing guy to have a wonderful true loving American girl as a wife and you are too simple and still keeping everything as it is what you had and have in India unlike some American Indians not all but a few. Alaika is so cute and energetic girl and she is so blessed to have and experience both cultures. Carton is lassi it is instant drink
Yeah we need rain jackets. The “milk” was lassi. It’s like a juice made from yogurt or buttermilk. Imagine my surprise. 😳

Its lassi. Its a sweet drink made from yogurt , water and sugar basically. Or buttermilk with sugar blended a bit.
You do get carron milk in India. But mostly we get packet milk in which no preservatives are added. So it will have 2 days shelf life.

We usually do the same when we are in Sri Lanka with breakfast, my husband or my Father In Law will tend to buy and bring back home for convenience, then my Mother In Law or Sister In Law will usually cook something for us- a home cooked meal from scratch at lunch and same they will either make something lighter for dinner from scratch or we will buy something. We get more time together to do other things that way. ❤️ Your breakfast is mostly the same as ours! 🤤 So lovely to see. Hope your having a great time!

You do get milk in Either Tetra Packs or bottles , probably you hadn’t gone to the right section. The ones in smaller plastic packets are fresh but last only a day generally, unlike the Tetra pack ones.
What is a tetra pack? We actually saw milk in a bottle yesterday at supreme but expiration was in 2 days so didn’t get
@@WorldOfAnAdventure Tetra pack is similar to the small Amul “Lassi” ( it was not milk) you had in your hand, but they have a bigger 1 liter pack. In india they call it Tetra pack( milk carton in the US). Here in the US we do get those bigger size cardboard box milk carton, though mostly the shorter duration milk come in a plastic gallon.
