Don't put hot stuff in the fridge, leave it out to cool down, when it cool down then put in the fridge. Putting hot or warm stuff in the fridge can damage the fridge, reduce the functionality of your fridge and even make the item you put in the fridge go off.

You can leave it in a pot in the kitchen after straining, then reheat it at once or twice daily to prevent it going bad. You can drink it while warm as a tea.
