    Thank you! I have an attachment for my mom's Singer Featherweight. It is similar enough to the one you used and it was helpful that you showed the other models to illustrate they all operate on the same brilliant principle! Really appreciate it :-)

      Hi Judy. Yes the older low shank ruffle attachments may work well on the Singer 9960. It's a fun attachment to use and makes ruffling so easy. Enjoy!!

    I have watched many of these videos about the ruffler foot and your is the only one that mentions getting the needle thread behind the foot. I have a vintage Singer attachment and am struggling with it. I have come closer to getting it to pleat by increasing the presser foot pressure and loosening the thread tension, but I haven't seen that shown in any videos or instructions manuals. Still haven't accomplished a good consistent pleat 😞

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  2 роки тому

      Sounds to me like your ruffler isn't pushing the fabric in with the blade properly to create the ruffle. My attachment moves very freely. Check your's and make sure the blade slides manually.

    I just found your tutorial videos. thank you so much. It’s been awhile since I used this machine so I thought I would clean it up before using it to make mask for my children.
    Well, after carefully cleaning and started to use it, the feeder won’t let the fabric move. What did I do wrong? I have searched and searched on how to fix it and tried to no avail.
    Please let me know how to fix it before going to a repairman. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your tutorial videos. I am getting so excited to start using this machine.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Wynona. Are you sure your feed dogs are in the up position? The lever needs to be engaged and then your handwheel turned once to bring them back up.

      Roxanne Stitches Thank you. I wished I saw the video on replacing the cutter. I probably would have been able to fix it myself. I did not know how to open up the machine without breaking the tabs. It was a little black rod that fell out of place and I couldn’t get to it. I gave up and took it in for repair. While my machine is in the shop, I will be watching your tutorial videos. Thank you again. Been using Grandma’s very old Bernina machine ( at least 35 years old) which is still working great.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  Рік тому

      Yes. I used a woven fabrication in my video so a sharp needle and regular sewing thread.

    Great video, thank you so much!! I read some reviews on this foot and they were horrible. Seems like all of the problems people were having related to everything you covered in your video and could be fixed if they saw this!! Do you know will this fair on a sheer material? I worry that it may snag the material when being pushed through the foot. Thanks Roxanne!!

    With all the videos that I have seen on UA-cam for the ruffler attachment, not one has mentioned the allowance of the fabric on the right of the ruffling. How do you keep the allowance even, what guide do you have for that? My vintage Singer ruffler (1960s) has an extension on the right side. Is that a guide for the maximum amount of fabric to be fed through? It's not mentioned in the instruction brochure that came with the ruffler. The brochure mentions placing the fabric under one of guides on the bottom (narrow finger-like guide) but doing that limits how far my fabric allowance on the right can go. It only allows around 3/8" if I place my fabric under it. Are you familiar with that type of Singer vintage ruffler, Roxanne. Also there's a lever that the brochure says to push upward toward the needle when doing pleating. I'm trying to make pleated trim with the ruffler. I like your video presentation here and though I don't have this Singer model, I liked the way you presented your demonstration of the ruffler that works for that machine.

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Catherine. I'm not familiar with the attachment you're referring too. I have several rufflers and they are all a little bit different. I suggest you install your ruffler and play around with it and see what it does. Adjust from one setting to another until you find that sweet spot. Good luck.

    • @RoxanneStitches

    • @RoxanneStitches
      @RoxanneStitches  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Elena. Sounds like either the attachment isn't installed correctly or the needle isn't all the was up in the shaft. Sometimes it helps to remove the needle to install the attachment. Make sure the arm is positioned over the take up lever.

    • @RoxanneStitches

      Hi Evelyn. Make sure you have this attachment installed properly. It can be a little tricky. Also, feed the fabric under the blade to allow the mechanism to push the fabric properly.
