Just a tip that may be helpful, putting the new tubing in hot water will make it so you can straighten it out, makes feeding it back to the stern much easier. Thanks for showing this off, I ended up going with a different brand of cable sleeves that were $20 cheaper, but they are the same thing.
how are the tubing + the sleeve working so far? I can't seem to be able to get the 5/16" to shrink fit the sleeve. Can you please tell me what is the O.D. of your sleeve? thanks
It's possible. If I remember correctly in order to add the cable sleeves, which was the primary intention, the tubes had to be replaced too because the factory tubing was already set in place.
The rails were the stock rails that came with the kayak. I completed the warranty claim for the free flow pedals to use on the stock rails. Still didn't work out.
I mentioned in the video that I ended up buying new rails and foot braces through bonafide. What you are referring to are not the free flow rails. The bonafide rails are metal. bonafidekayaks.com/collections/accessories/products/foot-brace-rails-accessory-package

Thanks for the video. Great mod upgrade for the peddles.

Thanks for this. Very helpful.
It's a shame Vibe doesn't recognize this as a manufacturing design flaw and provide free replacement kits to resolve the issue.
Couldn't you have just reused the original tubing and just add the metal end sleeves to them?

Where did you get the free flow rails

The rails are plastic not Metal like yours that’s why I’m asking where did you get them

Thanks
I actually prefer the old foot braces.
On the foot pedals use liquid silicon or liquid wrench. it makes them really smooth. I haven't had any issues since using that on the tracks.
Yep. I do the same. Works like a charm
Update on this? Is this mod still holding up?
All good. The only change is the cables. The kevlar rope was no good. Started falling apart. I've replaced them with 1/16 galvanized cables.
