Yep. There are too few k-dramas set outside the Sudogwon, and most of them are either in Jeju or the fishing villages near Pohang.

As a citizen of Daejeon, I'll explain this further.
Sung Sim Dang is a bakery that was founded
during the Korean War(50s).
For the past 70 years, the bakery and its owner experienced a lot of turmoils but managed to become a nationwide famous bakery.
They produce quality breads and desserts at a very affordable price.
Also, they donate breads to local orphanages daily.
A thing called "Twi-So(Fried Soboro)" is very popular nationwide cause one of their shops is located in Daejeon Station
(Daejeon plays a pivotal role in rail transportation and a lot of travelers use Daejeon Station).
Living in Daejeon is quite peaceful but there are few places to visit and hang out.
And because of this, my city is often called "No Fun" city.
But since Sung Sim Dang is famous nationwide, it became a thing that represents Daejeon.
성심당 is the gangster headquarters in Daejeon.

Its because S Koreans suddenly became perfectionist and just not have children when any of the financial or emotional conditions are not met. Not having children philosophy is a big trend, because they choose to have fun and lose responsibility and work of having a child.
S Korea is a serious case of too little birthrate, but the rest of the world in general should at least be about as Japan in birthrate, why is it a bad thing? Too much people in this world.
