Bought bosch universal mixer (forgot the model, mum 6-something) and never going back to kitchenaid. Kitchenaid tends to overheat really fast here. It's tropical where i live, and idk whether it's the heat or something else. Many times i had to finish kneading manually because the dough didn't incorporate well enough with kitchenaid. I hate kneading by hand, that's why i bought this not-so-cheap mixer. I know my bosch mixer doesn't look pretty, but it never fails me. I have a Bosch Universal and I absolutely love it, so glad I didn't go for looks with KA, the Bosch reliably mixes up cookies and kneads 2 loaves of bread every week and it is a joy to use. (The only downside is that we've been eating a lot more bread!)
I’ve had the Bosch compact mixer for a year. I’ve baked bread at least once a week since then using the mixer to make the dough and it is a great machine for that. I haven’t used it to beat egg whites so I can’t comment on how well it does that. I have used it to make cookies, but it works best if you’re making a big batch. I’ve found that if the butter is soft, it’s easier to mix them by hand if it’s a single batch (I make oatmeal raisin cookies). The Bosch machine only costs about $150. If you’re primarily a bread baker, it’s a good choice. I really like the bowl and it’s easy to clean everything. It’s not too noisy, it’s light weight, and it doesn’t take up a lot of space.
This Bosch Compact was made back in 1990s. Also known as Bosch MUM4. So the model is old. Since then they made MUM5, MUM8 (more pro) and current OptiMUM, which is great.

You should be using the mixers according to the DIRECTIONS in the instruction manuals not just…”Okay, let’s go to three”. because that may NOT be the way you are SUPPOSED to be using it. When Costco sold these they came with the metal bowl
I've had the Bosch Compact for 25 years (in Germany sold by the name of MUM4 - including all attachments, such as a meat grinder, flour mill, mixer/blender, and shredder) and haven't had any problem whatsoever. We put it in our holiday home about a year ago and have upgraded in our home kitchen to a Bosch MUM5: ua-cam.com/video/JyEZdcZfml4/v-deo.html
Catherine Seguin Hanson so did I. An amazing appliance.
Kitchenaid ❤🇧🇷
And the winner is...
For me was really hard to make decisions of choice between Bosch and kitchen aid, but I choose my kitchen aid and I am very happy now because I have a glass bowl which one is very visible and I feel like I have a real helper at my kitchen👍❗️
So yeah, it kneads faster and has better gluten development but that just means it’s more prone to over kneading.
Kitchen aid is bearing up the load much better
Buy a spiral hook for your KitchenAid. It will run circles around the Bosch and then some.
Both are not recommend for bread dough... i recommend BOSCH MUM 6N11 for bread dough..
The BC is highly recommend for bread dough.
𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 💪
You don't knead dough with the highest level! Please also read the operating instructions!
these guys are idiots the Bosch starts at setting 1 and then 2 for kneading ..assume they cannot read
@@MrBozonic no kidding. You're never supposed to exceed 2 for kneading in a BC.

Bosch 👍👍👍🖤
🤣🤣🤣 kitchen Aid Forever!!!!
SPOILED after 1 year for both hood n mum59340.
do you know how much it will take to repair it?
for the TELESCOPIC hood, one small slice of the flimsy filter panel. @$64
You need to pay up to 128 for both.
mum5, $122 for a minor fault, the drill can't go in fully. protruding out half an inch. diagnose cost $46. you got to send it personally to their service centre. subtotal $168
add up the total for both. $168+$128+cab fare = approx $316
you are better off purchasing other company's product.
to top it up, my wife recommended it to a friend. her one is even worst. lasted for only 1 month. she sends it for repair at the service centre twice and it's still not fixed. her cab has already cost her $50, not including the repair fee yet.
don't buy Bosch. you will regret it.
Bosch noise so high...
It's being run too fast. The correct speed for dough-kneading is 2.
You should be using the mixers according to the DIRECTIONS in the instruction manuals not just…”Okay, let’s go to three”. because that may NOT be the way you are SUPPOSED to be using it. How long have you been using a stand mixer? The Bosch is such an efficient kneading machine that you might easily over knead in the same amount of time it takes the other machine to do just an adequate job. I have just about given up on you people who are doing reviews on different machines. I have been making yeast breads since I was 15 years old….that is for the last 60 (Sixty} years and with a Bosch since 1980. You DO NOT NEED to knead the dough nearly as long in the Bosch as in the Kitchenaid…or by hand. You need to do your research before you do these reviews.
Bosh wabbles a bit.

Daleko bilo ovaj bosh imam ga
Ne kupuj te ga bacene pare
Most people aren't aware that Bosch introduced the Compact in 1981! I've owned more than one over the last 30 years, never a breakdown, and its a perfect companion to the larger Bosch Universal. Keep your KA crap.
BOSCH лучше
First I thought Bosch was better. But at the end, it looks like kitchenaid mixer was really kneading the dough, and the bosch was just moving the dough around the bowl.
Co za pajac to nakręcił !! Proszę zrobić ciasto zgodnie z instrukcją obsługii. Mój robot Bosch Mum robi chleb co drugi dzień i jednorazowo mieli 10kg mięsa ot tak. Mam go 8 lat i polecam wszystkim. Pytania?
KitchenAid is made better.
Bosch looks cheap
Well it is cheaper... much cheaper.
But these bosch machines are reliable.
@@martinerhard8447 In addition, its "guts" put the KA's to shame.

I never understood who buys the kitchenaids for their looks. It's not like you would leave it out like let's say a coffee machine, water heater or toaster...
Martin Erhard indeed. I want something that WORKS for me.
You should join our mixer-owners group; it used to be Yahoo but we migrated to groups.io a year or two ago. We’re a nice group and there’s a lot of collective information for those who with questions.
Bosch has hard metal gears.
KitchenAid has plastic or soft metal worm drives.
KitchenAid mixers break all the time. They're for light duty bakers.
I fix small appliances and specialize in fixing KitchenAid mixers.
