Original Show: Better Call Saul - Розваги
*”He must be so proud of him…”* 👀
🫢
who gonna tell her 👀
What a sick joke!
@@otown3378 I should've stopped him when I had the chance... and YOU - YOU HAVE TO STOP HIM. YOU-
I AM NOT CRAZY 🤣🤣🤣
Chuck in this episode saw the bigger picture, and it's why he pushed for $20 million. While Jimmy was doing the talking, he was doing the math from the moment the Sandpiper Lawyers mentioned a dozen other facilities and estimated the enormous size of the case. From there his decades long lawyer background switched on and he ran in auto-pilot. For all his flaws, Chuck is a really good lawyer, and it was great to watch him work with Jimmy at this stage in the show.
Agree. See one of my responses above . . . but only if you feel like it, lol
Two things about Hydrox cookies: 1) They are still available for sale. 2) They are actually the original sandwich cookie that Oreos were based on.
Yep, the Oreo is a knock-off.
@@max2themax then why did they make more money
@@rawtrout3402 probably bc if my kid said they " ate 'hydrox' at school today" my first reaction would be to call poison control lol
@@rawtrout3402the original creator doesn't always reap the rewards. Nabisco marketed better. And Oreo as a brand name is much better than Hydrox.
@NeutronDance anyone who has eaten both cookies knows it wasn't the marketing or the name.
Jimmy is a character type I don't think I've ever seen in any other show. You only saw peeks of sleeze with heart in BB, and it's so satisfying to dig deeper into what makes him tick. And Kim is amazing.
I'm gonna be honest
Season 1 bcs is very underrated
Moments like jimmy and mike asking random favors to each other and the other one being like "for sure lmao" is great to me
100%
It for sure gets better each episode but it is more slow paced and breaking bad gets right into it since episode 1. I love both shows the same but BCS was a little bit slow at the beginning
@@degiilandir6314 if yo watch bcs expecting bb for sure is slow, but its not like nothing happens in the frist few season, there is a lot of backround story and its beautiful in terms of cinematography. i personaly love the entire show even more than bb.
@@degiilandir6314very different shows.
@@degiilandir6314 I never really got that critique, I mean Tuco pulls a gun at the end of the first episode. There's just not nearly as much violence until Lalo shows up.
For a little bit of reference, the case they're working on has multiple angles of attack, as they've said. It's a pattern of overcharging, most likely with enough evidence to count as fraud. This isn't fraud through negligence, civil fraud; this is intentional misrepresentation and obfuscation of information, criminal fraud.
Then, there's the factor that it is a whole class of people being affected, making it a class-action suit, wherein a lawyer-or team of lawyers-fight on behalf of a class. This is because the scope of the wrongdoing is so large that filing individual cases is infeasible. What's worse, is that it's a class of people less able to protect themselves. The penalty is worse if the victims are children, elderly, disabled, or other.
Now, if this happened in just one state, it would likely stop there; however, since this crime is taking place across multiple states, it now becomes a federal case carrying much heavier penalties. State-by-state jurisdiction is overruled by federal jurisdiction.
Finally, RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) kicks in mostly with gangs, shell companies, and any other institution wherein the institution itself is operated as a criminal enterprise or aids and abets ongoing crime. For example, a police department in Key West, 1984 caught RICO charges for "several high-ranking officers running a protection racket for illegal cocaine smugglers."
So, $20mil? Actually, maybe, yeah. And Chuck probably doesn't expect them to cough up $20mil unless the court rules in the McGills' favor. They might not even rule in favor as high as $20mil. More than likely, that would be the "settle out of court" number.
Appreciate the context :)
I'm not a lawyer, but as a writer who's used many legal consultants on my works (not to mention many lawyers I needed to hire,) you clearly seem to be a lawyer. Yes, you're absolutely correct, based on everything I (non-lawyer) know, and have been told by others who love the show. The show hired many legal consultants, ranging from highfalutin' expensive ones to PDs. They tried their very best to be accurate. But I also sense (just "sense", just a hunch) that you're watching it for the first time. Hang in with it. It gets better, and crazier. Enjoy. (No, although a writer, I had nothing to do with this specific show, other than watching and enjoying it.)
Chuck knows exactly what he's doing. He's an amazing lawyer, mental health issues aside.
Greatest legal mind ever
Greatest legal mind I ever knew.
idk about amazing, he has been known to mix up numbers on important documents
@@crimsonite09 yeah well, perhaps there are more important things...
Chuck is overrated as a lawyer, it's more fame than substance, all smoke and mirrors. There's a very subtle line of dialogue from him, asking a rhetorical question about Sandpiper being a place he did lawyer work for. Meaning, he looked over the details of how they operate in a previous case and completely missed the massive amount of fraud going on. It took Jimmy to take notice, and in the initial moments, Chuck was downright dismissive that there could be anything there, you can see he didn't really want to take a proper look at documents. Even after literally doing the wills of all those people at the residence, nothing clicked still.
The show is so great, a few apparently throw-away lines of dialogue, and it undermines an entire character. Chuck is a lawyer who did things kinda on auto pilot, by the book, got lucky somewhat, and now everywhere he goes people throw so much praise at him like he's the Messiah.
Betsy has absolutely no problem sending Craig to prison, if she gets to keep the money. You know she talked him into stealing it in the first place. A wimp like Craig would never have the guts to do something like that on his own.
Betsy is a classic narcissist, reminds me so much of my mom, it's scary
Only slightly disagree. Yes, Betsy is the ultimate narcissist, but a little more complex than that, and way more delusional. As much as she wants to keep the money, she DOESN'T want her husband to go to prison. She wants it all! Re-watch that episode. She begs him not to accept defeat, to accept prison. He, as pussy-whipped as he is, is the sensible one who tells her that 18 months in jail is their best option. So, when I say "slightly disagree," it's only that she's so much more complex than just a narcissist. A despicable, disgusting, and amazing character. Just my opinion.
The millon twists and turns of this show. This is truly a show to react to.
Saul never tried bird law, he would of been sucessful.
Shoulda tried to duel, too. :)
Get us to a place where we can finally own a hummingbird as a pet 😂….
Filibuster
😂😂😂
Bird Law.. not governed by reason 🪨🇺🇸🦅
I worked as a maintenance guy for a senior housing complex for a while. It was the best job I ever had. They were all wonderful people, at least 9 out of 10 were women so it felt like I was helping 75 grandmas every day.
12:53 That's probably why Craig is powerless against her.
Mike's Daughter in law is played by Kerry Conlen, an Irish actress who was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar last year in the Banshees on Innisherin.
Should’ve won it
It's always a good day when VKunia uploads 'Better Call Saul' reactions.
Yeah. Agree more. I've been writing her to push her on it. You do too :)
Hydrox cookies do still exist/are sold. Though they did discontinue for a while. They are mostly seen as a knock off of oreos, even though they actually came first, though Oreos became more popular.
21:17 - _"Look what you've done here"._ Always loved that line since, considering Chuck knows Jimmy's past, there's a clear subtext lurking beneath the compliment.
I'm seriously happy seeing how much you enjoy this show, and even a little envious. I wish I could erase my memories of it so I could watch it fresh again. You seem as confused about Jimmy and Kim and their relationship. You are not alone. :D
A "Deal" is a great word. Thats what a good lawyer does. For criminal cases, I don't know if I want a lawyer tryin to sell me on fighting this thing to win.
I feel like Betsy Kettleman is just Marie without Hank to ground her
accurate assessment lmao
Lmao
I love this show so much but I love even the small scenes, like the demand letter in the bathroom and the initial confrontation with sandpaper, so well written but so enjoyable to watch
The final two episodes of this season tell you just about everything you need to know about Jimmy and his conflicting character. One major thing to enjoy about BCS is that it gives you back story on not just the main character but the ones who contributed to what he is now.
2:39 "Some rocks you don't turn over"
Not really foreshadowing, just letting us know subtly that the older detective, clearly an old friend of Mike, knows exactly what happened and is okay with it.
That, and that the young idealistic detective should probably learn that sooner rather than later himself. The way they all do.
@@ViraL_FootprinT.ex.e But I really liked that Mike liked the kid. There's a weird integrity to that.
Irene's cats are named after characters from THE ODD COUPLE, Oscar and Felix. Oscar is messy, Felix is neat.
Yes I didn’t think Vkunia got that it was so cute.
Chuck and Jimmy what a great dynamic.
The big guy in the bathroom was one of the dudes on the wanted board above Mike at the beginning of the episode…😂
Nice catch! Never noticed that. I've got to go back and confirm. Good for you if you're right!
Fun fact: Hydrox is neither an Oreo clone NOR out of production. It came before Oreos and it's still being sold.
38:26 "You can't end the episode right there, that's not fair!" There's a lot of that in BCS 😉
i finished better call saul in 1 week after i watched your episode one video lmao it was soo good.
Better call Saul aka Brilliant backstory, the first season is the slow one then it starts revealing its secrets.
Yes, that's what I've been trying to tell V! Tell her more, and to stick with it :)
Thinking about it now, I genuinely think Betsy encouraged Craig to take the money. That would be interesting to read a short story about. The interworkings of Craig. lol.
$20 million is definitely a real settlement amount for a class action case like this. I knew an attorney who got $100 million for his clients (yes, he's definitely rich now himself).
This show got stronger every episode
One of my favorite things about this episode is in the last one Mike asked her "The question is....can you live with it?" And what's she do? Knowing he flat-out killed the dudes who murdered her husband? Invites him over to babysit his granddaughter.
Hey, shows he's pretty loyal to his family.
The lighting tells stories about places or characters.
Hi VKunia! Watching you from Russia! Hello from here. I really like your charisma, your interpretations and reactions! Learning english by listening to you. First time I watched breaking bad/bcs in Russian, now in English with you. Thank you for your content ❤
still one of my favorite lines from the entire BCS BB universe; even on a good day, you and logic are split.
awwww chuck what a lovely big brotherrrrrr
It is getting better and better but all seasons are great. One of the best show ever written
The old lady at bingo named her cats after the odd couple characters. Felix was neat and Oscar was sloppy just like her cats. I thought that was darn cute.
Your channel is so much fun, thank you for doing it.
The image of Jimmy getting dirty from the dumpster in order to ultimately do a good deed is like the show's thesis.
Something i never noticed until just now. When the old woman was giving Saul her last 43 dollars... Saul was scamming her. She already paid the 140 dollars the first time they met, but he tried to charge her for another 140 dollars betting on her forgetting about it...
Those fees bind the contractual relationship between lawyer and client with consideration. Taking her money protects her and her subsequent estate.
The Jimmy Kim relationship is kinda vague at this point. Its not quite explained if they are ex's, together, friends, friends with benefits, etc. Honestly, they could be any of those things.
Word to th wise. Never hide cash that way. If you get mice they will turn it into a nest.
Good advice. I've stored important documents in basement storage before only to pop open the container at a later time and find them shredded.
This is the first time I noticed that the guy celebrating with Jimmy who he "doesn't remember now" is named Bert. This is funny because the other guy in that scene is one we become familiar with in later episodes, named Ernesto. Bert and Ernie.
Chuck is a rockstar. Literally. David St. Hubbins from Spinal Tap.
36:24 - Chuck is looking at the big picture. A class-action lawsuit will pay tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars, but will take years potentially to settle. On the other hand, taking money right there would have been a quick payday, and that’s what Jimmy was looking for.
Chuck was low on money and needed a payday too, I'm not sure why you would think he would have had substantial savings or investments from his time at HHM. From my understanding he was broke and was only getting a stipend from HHM.
@@TheAtkey Chuck is loaded. He’s a partner at one of the most prestigious law firms in town.
@@DogSquabRacing I would think so but I believe in one of the early episodes Jimmy informes Chuck that Chuck is broke.
Could be the divorce took a lot and the remainder of his wealth is tied up in HHM. The market in 2002 wasn't doing that great either so perhaps lost a lot there too.
I'm not a Skylar hater but as a lot of people say , Betsy makes Skylar look like a saint
At 37:00 Chuck is actually doing something very smart. If it doesn’t pan out you still have the original case.
Harold is such an interesting character. It will be interesting to think of him when the series is over.
There's a lot of information you don't yet know about him.
Some of the people on the wanted board were in BB
17:10 well Betsy is pretty hot
She has some, uh, good scenes in another movie she did.
May I ask which movie?@@williampilling2168
Her character is insufferable, but the actress is great
@@williampilling2168what’s the movie? Asking for a friend
@floridaman.813 a friend told me, the first episode of the mini series Catch-22, and the show Preacher.
@@williampilling2168 thanks! My friend will enjoy this
I was so hoping for this tonight and you totally delivered 😊
14:01 if anyone is wondering what the music is during this scene while Mike is putting the money back, it’s Tune Down by Chris Joss, great song.
3:16 that word salad was hilarious / adorable
The first season is "slow" in comparison to the later ones, and its still an absolute blast of a series if you're willing to make the investment. Can't wait to see how you find the rest of this story.. it is insane and incredible.
BB was the same way (though BB started off MUCH faster and only kind of went slow relative to that). BCS has a somewhat tedious first couple of seasons but is crackling with fire by the last few.
Loving the channel keep it up!
Ooh! Westlaw! Westlaw is expensive, a lot of lawyers bring in legal interns just to exploit the fact that it’s provided to students in their tuition at a discounted rate. Jimmy is taking advantage of HHM probably paying a flat rate as a well-funded big firm.
Your love for elders😍 this is the best reaction 🥂
I wish you could upload these faster!!! Re watching this brings so many good memories about this show
Hey V! I just weighed in on your cartoon contest, but more importantly . . . Not sure if you watched "part 4" of Saul (eps 7 & 8) just because I implored you too, or was just coincidence, but either way, I'm so glad you're loving it. It's almost like I get to see it myself again for the first time through your eyes. Trust me, it just gets better and better. So I implore you again, keep it up! You have no idea how many times your mind is going to be blown, in the good way. :) Even more so than Breaking Bad. Don't make me wait too long for your next installment :)
(Also, not sure I should say but I will anyway, I voted for Ratatouille. Wall-e would've been my second choice.)
Hydrox came out before Oreo's but Oreo became the popular brand.
Hydrox sounds like a cleaning chemical.
It’s funny, I feel like other reactors have used the same phrase of “special place in hell” when they realized the old folks were being scammed.
I LOVE THIS STORYLINE
I AM having a wonderful day! Thank you!
Can you believe that I was watching some edit videos on better call Saul since I finished watching all your reaction videos. WTF! Minutes later you uploaded this, I love you #divinetiming
One thing that always struck me about Jimmy is how he insists on drawing the people he loves deeper and deeper into his life even when they don't necessarily want that to happen. Like, it's all in with this guy, no half measures. There's this subtle but constant pressure on Kim to leave her job and join Jimmy. Just like the constant pressure on Chuck. Do we ever wonder why Chuck left Cicero? Was HE trying to have a fresh start away from his exhausting brother? Chuck gave Jimmy a job at his firm, but did he really want to do that? Or was it just a brotherly obligation that he quickly regretted because, once again, Jimmy took away his space and started to dominate his life. I mean, he got a law degree (something that was always Chuck's territory) and he even had fantasies about working side by side with Chuck. Jimmy didn't see the wisdom of committing Chuck so he could get proper treatment, instead he wanted to almost keep him to himself, beholden to him, indepted. Both Chuck and Kim seem to want Jimmy at arm's length at this point, but he doesn't accept that. Interesting.
We saw the beginning of their relation in the parking lot of the court.
24:59
VKunia: "Oooohhh..."
Me: "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"
Yes, I know I'm silly 😛
Mike must have had the runs after eating all those apples
Yaaay, you just made my day!!!!
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
I would say one of the only plot holes is that Jimmy shouldn’t actually know for sure that Mike is willing to commit such a crime.
The only prior setup was getting the notepad from the investigator and I mean, I guess that’s a big deal if you’re caught. So it’s not a big plot hole, just wanted to point that out
Let's gooo! Another BCS episode 🥰🥰
Here for the Betsy hate 😈
No one ever gets the Odd Couple cat joke
I finished season 1 a few weeks ago and now I’m on season 3 episode 5 I think. I gotta tell ya this show is the bomb!
Better Call Saul is definitely a great show thanks V.💞📺📺💞
haha, 21:20. I never noticed before but the two minor HHM characters are named Bert & Ernie. Or that could just be Jimmy making a joke haha
Watch these Comedies: (Real Movie) It’s Hard Not to Love Mrs. Doubtfire, The Ringer, Date Night,

"Your apartment has an exit sign out front" jfc the things chicks judge you on lmao 😅
20:29 y-you passed the bar?? *thud* *thud* *thud* *THUD* *falls to ground* XD
Betsy Kettleman makes Marie look like Dolly Parton.
Hell yeah! Never been this early to an upload before! 🎉
Ah! The continuation of the end scene in the next episode was a favorite moment in the show.
But re-watching and knowing what happens later on... :(
'I feel so bad for him'...youll be feeling and saying that a lot in this show too. Like Br Ba. ;)
3 things that you will say or think in this series. First is, why isn't this character in Breaking Bad. Secondly, these characters you may love, then hate, then love. And lastly, just like in BB, you get pissed every time the episode ends.
Chuck knows exactly what kind of case Jimmy has stumbled upon. It's why he's so energized and forgets about his condition.
He feels alive again because he knows Sandpiper Crossing is up to some very shady business, possibly across a dozen locations in several states.
This could be a huge legal battle. Far too massive for Jimmy, Chuck, and Kim to handle on their own...
I cannot wait for the episodes 9 and 10 reaction to drop. Episode 9 is my favorite ep of Season 1!
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Better Caul Saul!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I just watched a Vid that was recommended to me by tube that Rosvid made I think you should do a reaction to it haha.. Some people just surprise me sometimes and I mean you not him... Im sure you have watched it if you already talked about it let me know what vid so i can find it!
It's only the early 2000s. Alarm systems have been around since the 1970's
love it when you say " betsy sucks so hard"
Holy smokes you are looking good!
I felt it was a bit slow at the start but I still loved the whole thing
“A special place in hell”
‘Firefly’ callback 😂
5:52 that's fun to say
Kim was just excited, they're just friends
I ve heard from the BCS commentaries that the characters that are up to no good will wear some form of red.
