Bravissima, controllo vocale eccellente!!
Such a light-hearted song, beautifully sung.
A "song" is a free-standing poem set to music for a singer and, usually, with a piano accompaniment. Why do the illiterati insist upon calling every piece of music a "song"?
FYI, this "Alleluia" is one section of a "motet."
Unverglleichbar! Danke holde Dame.
Grandiose Stimme.
I used to know the lyrics to this piece, but with old age setting in, my memory is starting to lapse in places
(I can only recall the first 6 words....then NOTHING!) :-)
Haha!
In high school chior we did an exercise where after learning the music sufficiently, we had to go around the entire choir, each person saying the next word (...I don't remember how we did the harmonies but we did have to know everyone's part). We got a pass on this piece.
It’s only one word.
I remember, and play, every note....never could remember the words!

He was just joking , as was I 🤣 !
Beautiful, just beautiful 🥰
Best "Alleluia" I've heard -- Kiri Te Kanawa

Arleen Auger and Barbara Bonney are both prima! Barbara Bonney is simply exquisite
Wunderbar!
Well performed! Conductor Haitink takes a fairly fast tempo. I'd like to hear him try to sing those melismatic passages at such a clip! Bravo to soprano Schafer for navigating it well under the circumstances.
Good Lord, this gave me shivers of joy.
My favourite song 🎵 since the 1990s. And I am learning it on piano 🎹.
Très belle et agréable voix
Eine Melodie die mich immer wieder verfolgt. Einfach wunderbar vorgetragen
"Singing for All Lives
The 5,000 years of civilization lead back to Heaven
So brilliant its splendor, divinities sigh in admiration
Antiquity’s wisdom was a path laid down by the Divine
While modern ways and thought follow the Devil’s lead
Atheism and evolution are doctrines of poison
A people without tradition are like a lakebed barren
Most lives on this earth were once divine, before
incarnating here in anticipation of the Creator
Return to Heaven and you shall find true bliss
Our limbs move in dance as we offer deliverance
Each note of our instruments carries compassion
May this song fulfill the Creator’s wish to bring salvation

The Divine Is Shown
Their dance dispels karma’s dark clouds
Their heavenly music awakens our true selves
All this is the Creator’s grace bestowed
Free yourself of modern thought and ways bizarre
Recover the kindness and honesty you once knew
Atheism and evolution are a cancer that mars the soul
The ways of tradition lead to Heaven’s dais
The Divine manifests for the rescue of our souls
What you now sense and see are His designs
Braving dark tides to mercifully save us
I embrace the world through Shen Yun

Grace Beyond Words
Our dance is imbued with the power to save
The music stirs goodness in your very soul
Resplendent colors awaken your true self
Beware evolution’s deceptive doctrines
Modern thought and ways change humankind
We display the Creator’s compassion
His ineffable grace kindles your flames of hope

So beautiful thank you🌹👏
Does she need the booklet to remember the words or the melody?
She looking at the music because of the variants.
@@benberren Thanks for clearing that up.
Ive sung this piece before and all of those melismatic runs benefit with visual prompts. And sometimes singers don't always know what to do with their hands because we are so used to holding a folder of music. I held my music as well when I performed this :)
where shall she put her hands when singing ?? .the problem is practically resolved
It's actually acceptable and the style to use the score. You don't have to use it but sometimes you need it for nerves to have as a reference but I prefer to use a black folder and mostly have it as a prop and rarely look at it.
Beautiful runs at such a speed !
extraordinario haitink!!!!
linda apresentação!!! 👏 👏 👏

¡Bellísima interpretación!

Thank you for this Peter. Happy Easter to you . CHRIST IS RISEN.
Her rhythm is a little off in parts, but I like her voice? It's high, but it's "thick"? "Round?" IDK how to describe it, but there's something different about it that makes it sound heavier or stronger than what you'd usually hear in ladies with this voice type.
Rich?
She's a lyric soprano.
it sounds very full, sometimes when singing that high people's voices are "skipping" however she is singing amazingly without having to do that
The tempo is too rushed and the soprano has difficulty negotiating the passage work in the middle of the piece. It’s a shame the conductor rushed and pushed her
Sometimes sopranos are screechy. This lady produces acrich, melodiius sound
Sublime
Wonderfull
wow! superb! salam from indonesia
brilliant
Shame the conductor forced too fast a tempo for the coloratura to be sung cleanly and with shape and line. Just set the tempo the soprano wants. Plus, the fastest thing in Mozart’s time was a train, so their concept of “allegro” was based off of that, plus “allegro” indicated by Mozart translated more into “joyful” than fast. Certainly not this rushed.
Enjoyes and appreciate comment.barbra hendricks has a beatifil recording on dvd.who is this young performer? I like her too.but wise opinion .thank you..marco antonio .spaulo brasil
Totalmente de acuerdo.
Lulu ❤
Same here 😰
I think it's because either of uploading in UA-cam or some technical issues before uploading. Not only here but other videos become so fast which look impossible or not musical anymore in real life.😊

Yes.
Awesome song! Mozart-king of classical music! Otherwise this would be a good goalhorn of my favorite team in the Swedish Hockey League!
Agreed

I used to wonder why someone would write a piece with only one word. I was like, "Okay, but what else?"
Then I heard pieces with just solfege/swara/equivalents and thought it was just a word to put into the music, and the music was the main thing. Maybe that is the case here, but later I learned that repetition is used in masses and chants so I think there's something more to it.
Anyway, great performance.
Criste Eleison is also just one or two words but look at what Mozart did with it in the great mass in c minor
So right...we sang it at Fiji Arts Club choir...love it

*_Women can’t give that crispy sweet voice that a boy can give because a boy’s voice only lasts a very short time and is to me somewhat more pure and better just because of the fact that it doesn’t last_*
The piece was intended to be sung by a castrat, not by a boy. So this is as close as it gets and I think Mrs Schäfer sings it wonderfully.

Mike "Who's the conductor?"
Ike: "I'm not sure."
Mike: "You're not?"
Ike: "Well, his first name is Bernard, Haitink, but I'm not sure...."
Are you?
Lagu pengantar injil kami time misa krismas mlm & pagi HAHAAHAHAH 😂
Echoing my previous comment, I really feel she should have done this from memory. When I see her eyes downcast staring at the score, I feel like she doesn't really have it in hand, tho' she certainly sings nicely. Surely this could be done from memory.
Who cares if she used the score
@@charitycampbell1650 Me, that's who. It's a distraction, ESPecially since she doesn't even have a hardback folder to at least keep it from flopping. That piece is not so difficult it couldn't be memorized by a pro. There is a visual component to performance and I found it annoying.
@@paules3437 omg youre right!!! non hard back folder !! ugh!! ew! she sucks
@@paules3437 when you have the time plz upload your recording
@@charitycampbell1650 My recording? I assume you mean a recording I have of myself singing this, not a recording I have of professional singers singing this. Is that right?
Try it...when this song was sung by isyana sarasvati, an indonesian musician
The tempo was smidgeon too brisk for the Divina Schaefer to perform to optimum clarity the intricacy of her coloratura runs. I love Haitink usually - especially his Mozart Operas. Cosi Fan Tutte is my favorite of his. But this pace - though gamely attempted - was just physically impossible for this great soprano. Someone should have slowed him down just a tick.
Thenwhyareyoutalkingtome. Youareallnotdatgone. Iknowyouarenot. Then leave.
At least give her a black folder so she doesn't have to hold the score like that.
Also, what's with the conductor? He's not jumping around, waving his arms nonsencally, making arabesques with his arms in some belief that that makes the sound better. He should go back to histrionic school...
Good thing she has the score or else she might forget the words...
Was it hallelujah that came after the chorus? Or ..no it was hallelujah yeah, see got to be sure. Slippery slope.
@@RottenHumoursTechnically it's the Latinized version of the word: "Alleluia".
@@paules3437 and.....woosh!
Another modern-day soprano who can't trill. Unfortunately, I've become used to this lack in singers of every category, but I would have thought that Miss Schäfer, as a student of the late Arleen Augér, would have acquired this ability, which is so essential in Mozart. Sadly, it appears not.
Bad - A.... in Alleluia.... Not so good soprano, but not so bad! normal....
Really?
I agree, it's strange.
Gur Gen ...i agree but at least it seemed to smooth out a little as she went along and thankfully she didn’t use a heavy “H” as so many tend to do...nice presentation though despite the little scoop up at the end...and NO, i can not do it better!!! BRAVO!
