Genius! What a creative way to change the belt without the special OEM-tool or removing the engine mount! I tried it today on my B207E and it worked perfectly! With removing the tire and the plastic housing, it took maybe 20-30 mins and really wasn't hard at all! Thank you :)
Thank you for showing in detail how to do this job - and I dig the fact that you used a hammer instead of a special belt tensioner-tool :-) Update: I changed both the belt and tensioner yesterday, using the hammer method of course ;-) I must say that the new tensioner was quite a bit harder to compress than the old one, but I managed to get it back on
Worked perfectly... But my tensioner was super hard to move...or Im very weak.. :). I used my jack and a piece of wood to push it up which made it really easy. Thanks again.
I used the saab jack and a piece of wood to kinda lift it...that thing is hard to lift .. so respect tob you using just ur arms nba hammer thanks for the video i subscribed
Thanks for this. I need to change my aux belt soon and this method is much quicker than another I've seen which involves removing the engine mount and supporting the engine with a jack to make room so it can be done from above. Quick question I noticed your belt is 5pk1028. I was told I needed a 5pk1030 so I'm now doubting if i have the correct belt. I have a 2004 2.0T B207R. Thanks in advance.
Hi, my one is 1.8t so possibly some pulley is a different size, but I see not much, better double check in shop, if you fitted too long belt will be flipping again.
I just subscribe once again my friend. My safety i made a mistake and put it. Behind the front driver. Side wheel i brought the jack down and boommm i was in schock in the of WTF because it looked like it broke and then a clack the sideskirt went back into place like.. The only thin that broke the wheel cover ..in a little corner ...
