    • @gethighwithmike
      @gethighwithmike  6 місяців тому +7

      What I'm looking for in a bar isn't the ability to adjust the width or the Y split, but rather: a bar that I can trust with my life, a bar which actually auto-untwists, a bar which I can adjust line lengths on, a bar which is durable, and a bar which I can replace all the parts on.
      To be quite frank with you, I haven't ridden a single other bar which ticks all of those boxes. Not one. Tell me about any other bar and I'll tell you how I've seen the lines break unexpectedly within mere months of use, how the lines fray, the quick releases open for no good reason or the lines don't untwist automatically.
      Again, I don't want to shit on other brands, but the shortcomings of other bars do highlight how epic this bar is.

    The only problem with Sensor Pro, and which holds Core to sell much more of these (expensive) bars, is that they're made only for Core kites.
    Just an adjustable Y-split and a standard 1-line safety system, would make it the best bar on the market for all kites and not just Cores.
    Hey Core, learn with Duotone. Clickbar sucks but it's compatible to any kite on the planet.

    good review! for people who want to buy this bar and use it with other kites, i would also mention the bar has a high-Y split, which could make compatibility an issue. also another thing related to compatibility is the flag out system of the bar which doesn't fully de-power the kite on a single line, but rather has a 90-10% depower split on the center lines? not sure about this one, what do you think? thanks

      i also try to figure this out, because although I only fly core kites, I still use a cabrinha bar because it wonderfully flags out the kite.
      This also allows me to land the kite when alone on the beach by pulling the relase a few meters above ground and kite perfectly falls on beach position.

Huge downside as well of this bar is the Y split, pretty much cant fly any other kite with it other then core, and buying a new and different model kite just for bar? The SK99 lines are just as good as these, the Line Smith in the Netherlands has this, many pro riders flying in KOTA with these lines as we speak

  • @XE-4
    @XE-4 6 місяців тому

    No adjustable steering line lengths at the bar? That's a handy feature on Ozone. Need more power? Then land, adjust at the bar, launch and ride. Needing to untwisting lines has a funny benefit. If you hate untwisting at the chicken loop then force yourself to untwist by jumping and rolling the opposite way. You'll sync your front and back roll improvements over time. Also beats replacing Core bar inserts every 6 months.
    Oh, and having a low Y (near the bar) makes self landing safe and easy. Land a wingtip, grab the Y, pull in a metre of front line, release the bar, kite sits happily, then walk a few metres up wind and pull only the top, front line down to drop the leading edge onto the ground. Ok for beginners with supervision. Perfect for everyone else. Works even is gusty AF conditions. And you still have the option of pulling your safety.

      @@smkyzorkite yes I ride for Core but I also rode for lots of other brands and clearly the core bar is the one I prefer. It’s still not perfect, but its pretty close ! And the untwist system is the only one working 100% of the time since many many years ! I had so many issues with other brands untwist systems that sometimes got stuck and put me in really dangerous situation.
      And I just found funny to see a friend riding the core bar with its Duotone kite even if for me you should never mix bar and kite from different brand because then usually your kite is not behaving like it’s been designed to behave.

    To me, this bar, is also the best one I've ever flown, and I now fly it on my Duotone kites.
    Like you say, the bar works really well and I can trust the lines in any condition. Something that you didn't mention yet is the weight of the bar, which is one of the lowest in the scene i believe. My Sensor 2 bar weighs in at about 800 grams. I believe the s3 pro is about 950. quite nice if you bring more bars and short on weight.
    There are however, some issues with it which I think would have been cool if you pointed those out as well.
    1. QR sometimes getting stuck and not releasing the chickenloop.
    2. Extremely fast wear on the y-split. (strange because the y-split on the sensor 2 bar has yet to fail on me after about 8 years of riding)
    3. Foam is coming off the bar easily.
    Lets hope they fix these issues with the sensor 4 pro.

    Most important: The Flagout safety will not work properly on all kites. Cause it's a supported frontline safety, the difference in line length is about 2,5 to 3m which for sure is not enough...
    Honestly spoken, one of the best bars at the market is the 2023 Cabrinha bar. You'll get a super short quickrelease with click in, a long depower range, normal V split, safe single front line safety, also with super easy auto untwist... and it will work with mostly every kite on the market.

    I wonder what these designers are up to? We all know the Safety Flag out length is too short. The floaters are too soft and when there's slack at a landing, the steering lines often wrap around the bar causing a death loop. The Chickensticks are too stiff, I've broken like 4 already. Chickenloop requires significant force to open. Rubber grip on the bar wears off really quickly. Apart From that it's great, but lots of room for improvements, like all other brands.

    When you learn, you need to have a clear and fast indicator of which side to pull. But even for average riders, when falling after a rotation, loop.... and if the kite is heading to the water, you just want to grab the correct side of the bar.

Your power lines destroyed in one session , and they unrepairable ( if you at remote wavespot without dealer nearby ... u ´re fucked ) . Not recommended for heavy use ..

    Not using a narrow bar and 24m lines tells me the kite is slow

    Also these bars can break, youtube massive kitemare xr7, and watch a new sensor 3 snap in half. Guy is lucky to be alive…

      I just watched the video. I coached Tomas years ago actually. The bar did not snap in half. The QR opened up. Sorry mate, but it must not have been latched properly. I always rinse my QR and press it in firmly, even giving it a couple hard tugs to make sure it's properly latched.

      @@gethighwithmike Bro, you are wrong! thats literally what he said himself a few weeks after, the quick release is on its own, he inspected the bar, and you dont say these kinds of things unless youve inspected the bar afterwards :

      holy fuck, what happened?

      The left side of the bar broke off as well as one of the powerlines

      Do you mean the left steering line, or the actual bar/metal itself broke off?

      @Ryy22 the actual bar broke off. It’s a plastic part

      Watched that a few times in .25 speed, and still can't grasp what happened. Were all the lines intact afterwards? It looks like the QR released on it's own

      My guess is sand in the quick release

      When i popped of the water, the left side of the bar snapped. Then a powerline snapped, maybe because of the high pressure. The QR released indeed on it’s own
      After seeing this video and reading on kiteforum(go check the thread, its 8 pages long) all of the issues with the bar itself, flag out system, the quick release and the rings at the Y split also, I went with another brand even though the XR is the best kite ive ever flown, once you start jumping 15m or higher I dont want ANY funny business anymore. Core bars are known to be more on the unsafer side here in the Netherlands, we even have a running gag/joke about it. I wonder if Core is even aware of all the bad press, just your comment section alone speaks volume. If you have any pull with Core, please highlight the issues to them. I still want a Core XR in the future, but I just cannot trust that bar right now

      @@gethighwithmike oef Mike, then rewatch it again at 0.25x speed and at 1:11 - 1:12, the bar snaps and then safety goes. As I’m (definitely) not a pro rider safety is a lot more important to me than auto untwist for example. Unfortunately I haven’t seen a bar yet that has it all (curious about the new cabrinha though).

    Best Bar is the Duotone Click Bar. Sorry Bro.

    • @gethighwithmike
      @gethighwithmike  6 місяців тому

      Haha thanks for the feedback bro, but I actually dislike the Click bar for 2 reasons: 1 the front lines snap after just a few months of regular usage and 2, the bar is way heavier on one end than on the other, due to the mechanism, which makes the bar spin uncontrollably when you do bar spins

  • @liohoboho
    @liohoboho 6 місяців тому

    Definitely not the best bar in the world, this untwist system is far from perfect, five years ago this system almost drowned me after four spins and a bar lock. Also when the wind is light or you are downwind this system is a crap, you don't have enough depower and is almost imposible to untwist the kite, than you untwist again with hand. And definitely if you ride unhooked or hydrofoil stay away from that kind of system.

    Great bar I stick with this one too. I buy it for safety and dependability. There are a lot of bars that I hear about from my kite group breaking out on the water lines snapping Parts breaking off what a nightmare and happening too frequently and over and over again in the same place. I wish someone would make a dependable and Safe low V bar for my other KITES that aren’t CORE. And CORE has excellent Parts availability. I know of other people still waiting for parts for other bars.
