In this video we start our Mog-conversion. Before we can start building the box, we have to complete a few tedious tasks like repainting the tray, as it has lots of rust. First, we had to take off the wooden boards, which were completely rotten and turned out to be quite a challenge. Since the army paint was pretty bad (chipped bits and rust covered by more paint), we decided to sand down the WHOLE tray, which took ages (we are still not done yet :D). We also started taking apart the cabin in order to modernize the interior (will be covered in the next episode as well).

I worked these for 15 years in service guys why would u remove the specialized paint it's the reason the chassis has not rusted badly now ur takenit back to bear metal and u didn't treat it staight away it now will rust you should ov lightly sand blasted it then respray that what we used to do. One slip ov that grinder and ur gonna get hurt and that paint ur removing is toxic some were paint in special anti radar heat paint get better breathing masks

Hey, there was plenty of rust under the paint on the tray :D so we obviously had to take it off...otherwise it wouldn't make sense to paint over it🙃 The mog was parked next to the ocean for several years and barely moved so that's why there is plenty of rust that needs to get treated :) we didn't take any paint off the chassis, only the tray :)
