Elite: Dangerous - 50+ player ships jumping away from Sagittarius A (Distant Worlds)

- Something a bit different for my channel today...
I'm a big fan of Elite: Dangerous and for the last month or so I've been taking part in the Distant Worlds expedition as
CMDR OptimusGrind, in Which over 1000 players are journeying to the far side of the galaxy. We are roughly following the trail of the main event organiser and first player to do this journey in game, CMDR Erimus. (Link to his channel below)
I have a ton of screenshots and a few video clips from the journey so far which I will stick into some other videos soon!

As new player, I almost shat my pants when something tried to interdict me from hyperspace, thought it's black hole because of blue dots around escape vector... Can imagine what would happen in this scenario...

The only game where you can gather 50 people into one place and still feel the crushing loneliness of space.
Ive never seen or heard of this game.... but when they all jumped.... I experianced a raging SciFi arousel. I must find this game.

I thought you could not have this many ships in one instance?
It takes a lot of planning, wing up, then 3 people leave wing and 3 people join it, over and over again. Had a group do something like this once before was bad ass but took roughly 15-20 mins to get it all set up
LUN4T1C You can up to 99 or I think 100 including the player within 1 instance.
There is something distinctly magical about this.

i feel like i just watched the scene from Return of the Jedi where the entire Rebel fleet jumps to light-speed. the only way this would have been cooler is if u had someone at the end point recording u all return to real space
They return in supercruise at around a third of the speed of light in front of the target star, so you can't record it.

Man. There is just something so epic about multiple ships making a lightspeed jump at the same time. Especially with a good bit of buildup time. Unfortunately, its so hard to find this done right in a lot of game right now. I seem to still remember Mass Effect 3, the scene before the final battle for Earth when all ships exit the jump at the same time... epic. I loved this, I just wish it was something that could happen in-game without a lot of planning.
This is SO EPIC!! The way the ships go into frame shift and how the pilot drops slowly into the line and launches!! Man!! So cool! o7 CMDR

@@greaterwise2841 All you need to do is contain a fission reaction that generates a million black holes every nanosecond, and that sucker will bend space from the ship's nose right up your tailpipe until you say 'Uncle' or run out of fissile material, whichever comes first.

HOLY COW THIS IS AWESOME!! It totally reminds me of Star Wars Episode 6, when the Rebel fleet was jumping to attack the Death Star. I kinda wish you guys were in formation and not just in a big clump, though.

Eve Online fleet warps are far more awesome, and happen so much that it's like a routine thing. Non the less kudos to Elite designers, that game looks and sounds amazing.
