Thanks for sharing. Most ppl will only show the shots that counted. I enjoy your videos as you're not ashamed to show that you can also miss what appears to be an easy shot, but one has to take into consideration that at 20-25 yards, a pigeon's head isn't a very big target. Well done, Chris Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
DJ I got my first permission today, I was so excited a little bit of wee came out! after I cleared that up I felt I had to tell someone. Time to put all the tricks of the trade, that I've learned from your vids into action. Thats includes the CORVID CHAOS DVD! Love it. Big thanks, keep um coming
Brilliant HV the HD camera really has up the quality of the video footage and your style is as good to watch as ever. Thank you for sharing again. ATB Malc CPTV
I know what you mean fella i miss them with my pcp's but i would never go back to springers.Pre-charged multi-shot air rifles have revolutionised airgun shooting for me.Not only are they deadly accurate they are deathly quite too....Keep up the good work with the video's David and i look forward to your next one.
Sounds like you are onto a good start. I practice a lot with my air rifles shooting from standing, sitting and prone positions to help me shoot accurately.
thanks david, yes it small and light and sub 12lbs not the monster turbocharged guns you use , but it shoots well and is nice and quiet, looking forward to your next video , thanks for the time david and good shooting...happy xmas
Ah Portrush, i haven't been in Barry's for yonks. My HW97 should be running at about 12ft/lb but i use the .177 Bisley Magnum pellets which are heavy for .177 but still shoot a lot flatter than the .22.
I just found the Barracuda's may be the best outta my 97kts. I was using the H&N FTT 5.55, but the cudas may take it. I found you really have to seat pellets up the barrel a good bit for better accuracy. Thanks for the vids.
Well if that straw is still out as i pen this, its had it. good shooting as ever. great clarity on your camara work. keep them coming, there good to watch, young uns could learn a thing or two. well done.
Another great vid! I'll be picking up an air rifle as a Christmas present to myself if all goes well, and hopefully I'll be able to get close to as good as you!
I still love the simpleness of using a spring powered air rifle but i still find myself lifting the PCP rifles when i want to make sure that i don't miss.
With a 12ft/lb gun most stick to about 35-40 yards but it really depends on how accurately you can shoot and still put all your pellets into a 3/4 inch group.
I don't think that changing the spring to a gas ram will affect the trigger but a good gunsmith can do wanders with most triggers by polishing the shears. Try Tony at Sandwell Fieldsports.
Oh its hard to say as i use them for different jobs but the BSA super 10 is best around the farms and the high powered Theoben MFR for rabbiting. But there are those days you feel for something different so i lift the HW97.
For the ranges i shoot over 12ft/lb is really enough as the more powerful a spring powered air rifle is the more recoil it has and the harder it is to shoot.
great video david, i like to watch all of you posts , great quality and very informative, i have just bought a bsa ultra and shoot pigeons crows etc ,and would be interested in your view of them (multishot .22) do you have any experiance of them? thanks dave
Well in N, Ireland where i live we need a licence for any air rifle but i don't think that there is any restriction in England for buying an air rifle so long as its under 12ft/lb.
Hi, I always enjoy your videos, as you do a great job with the camera work etc. I am looking into working in the UK for a while(over a year) and was wondering if you knew what the regulations were for those wishing to purchase a sub 12 foot pound air rifle(who aren't citizens in the UK). I know you can't get anything over 12 without a untenable amount of paperwork (compared to the US). I've been looking online, but can't seem to find anything on the subject. Thanks for any input on the subject!
your videos are amazing. i have a 22. cal brocock independent and just got all the jack pyke english woodland camo clothing, i have shot a few magpies and 1rabbit so far what do you recon to my scope its a hawke 3-9-12 sport hd how do you get your shots so good i cant seem to hold my rifle still long enough?
That is good going with a Springer David!! Nice filming to! You have just got to love airguns, it takes a fair bit of skill to place a pellet in on a birds head and kill it cleanly!! Good job sir. Plink
Excellent video. That springer is very nice. How are your PCP's doing. :-) Yes, being able to shoot those springers is a big plus. Very nice shooting my friend.
I'm a beginner and have been using a smk synths. It is a nice air rifle but I have noticed that it does not seem to kill anything . Is there any air rifles you recommend for under 200 pounds ??
Hi HuntersVermin, quick question. I own a Weihrauch HW97KT .22 and I am wondering what type of pellets/brand would you recommend for Wood pigeon shooting at 20-35 yard ranges. Thanks.
I usually set the farthest decoy at 30 yards so i know anything beyond that needs hold over, and i like taking head shots as i have seen birds fly off after a heart shot in the past and lost them.
Hey HV i recently ordered an HW97k Synthetic in .22 without a scope can you recommend a good scope maybe in 4-12x40 i used leapers TS before but the weight or leapers scopes are an issue since the gun is already heavy . Bless
Hy. I think it's not a clean kill each time with 177cal...At least not as effective as the 22cal or even the 25 .. What do you think about? Anyway your videos are just beautiful ..I learns a lot with them!
The .177 does cut through a birds chest faster than the bigger .22 and .25 which have more knock down power. But with a head shot it doesn't really matter as the brain is destroyed.
To stalk anything you really need to take your time and stalk into the wind, stay close to cover looking for any sign of movement as you want to spot them before they spot you.
Hopefully this comment gets seen. What camo tape are you using on your air rifle at the end of this video? I need to get some but have no idea what brand or type is best. Thanks
hi HuntersVermin could i ask u advice ? If i fitted a gasram to my lightning xl make the trigger less stiff as there is not a lot of play on the adjustable trigger thanks ny adivise given would be gr8fully taken thank u
you are very deadly with the air rifle i have trouble sometimes just with the .22 rimfire on the squirrels but i realy dnt shoot very much. we both know that it takes practice
This channel is far more entertaining than watching any of the hunting shows that come on tv. Keep up the good work!
Great to hear the care taken not to shoot racing pigeons, well done a true sportsman to be respected. Thank you

Great vid. Romeo was a typical bloke with just one thing on his mind!!
Thanks. Yes i do enjoy the spring air rifles as it makes a change from the pcp's.
Thank you very much Malc glad you liked it.

Good to see you enjoy the challenge of marksmanship with a spring gun. Enjoyed the video, as usual.
Have a look at the Hawke range as they have a wide range with some spring ratted airgun scopes.
Glad you liked them, hope you enjoy the HW97.
Man love outdoors but you can't get enough of it living in the city.
Sounds like you are onto a good start. I practice a lot with my air rifles shooting from standing, sitting and prone positions to help me shoot accurately.
They're a full bodied flocked decoy that i bought at a game fair years ago and painted a little to freshen them up.
Thanks glad you liked it.
No i haven't got it tuned yet but Tony at Sandwell Fieldsports seems to have done a really good job Si's HW97 on VerminHuntersTV.
Glad you liked it and good luck with your own HW97.
deek pattern must have been spot on there!!! another top vid nice one Dave
thanks david, yes it small and light and sub 12lbs not the monster turbocharged guns you use , but it shoots well and is nice and quiet, looking forward to your next video , thanks for the time david and good shooting...happy xmas

Romeo wont be turning up for his date with Juliet tonight! Great vid and great shots as always pal.
Well i had an HW80 that loved H&N Field Target Trophy but its always best if you can try a few different brands to see what best suits your barrel.
I just found the Barracuda's may be the best outta my 97kts. I was using the H&N FTT 5.55, but the cudas may take it. I found you really have to seat pellets up the barrel a good bit for better accuracy. Thanks for the vids.
Great hunting day. Lot of opportunities. Nice job, David!!
Well if that straw is still out as i pen this, its had it. good shooting as ever. great clarity on your camara work. keep them coming, there good to watch, young uns could learn a thing or two. well done.
Always a pleasure to watch David, keep them coming. Regs Chainman
Glad you liked it.
Thank you. It surprises me at times when i hit a good 40 yarder only to miss an easy 10 yard shot.
Another great vid!
I'll be picking up an air rifle as a Christmas present to myself if all goes well, and hopefully I'll be able to get close to as good as you!
some great shots there bud
i use to have a hw85k and that gun loved the bisley magnums shame the vermin didn't
I still love the simpleness of using a spring powered air rifle but i still find myself lifting the PCP rifles when i want to make sure that i don't miss.

Another great vid, thanks very much Dave.
Have a look at the AGS Value Max from Webley as i know its a full powered 12ft/lb rifle for under £200.
Thank you very much for that as John Darling was an inspiration to me too.
I don't think that changing the spring to a gas ram will affect the trigger but a good gunsmith can do wanders with most triggers by polishing the shears. Try Tony at Sandwell Fieldsports.
As always, good to see some 'Airgun' shooting, thanks for sharing David.
atb t ..
Thanks, Its a 12ft/lb model.
Good for you, (not the pee bit though). Glad you liked the DVD.
You could look at the HW95 or the Stoeger x20 suppressed.
Its a cloth backed camouflage tape from Allen i think.
Well done Mate. A fun and informative video!
Oh its hard to say as i use them for different jobs but the BSA super 10 is best around the farms and the high powered Theoben MFR for rabbiting. But there are those days you feel for something different so i lift the HW97.
Great video thanks, when you miss it gives us all hope
cheers
Nice video again. But the best pellet for the HW97 is the JSB EXACT in 4.52
You will see that if you try those.
as ever great videos just showing we do miss shots and you are not afraid to show your misses. After all we are just human
Thanks for watching.

Take a look at the Stoeger x20 suppressed.

The pcp,s are doing fine and i hope to get them back out soon.
brill decoy vid with hw97kt showing springers can still do the biz in the right hands which do you prefer pcp or the hw97k thanks
Okay, thanks for taking the time to respond! Be well and stay dry, my friend.
Thanks alot Plink.
Nicely done. very nice narration and video. How do these birds taste?
your videos are amazing. i have a 22. cal brocock independent and just got all the jack pyke english woodland camo clothing, i have shot a few magpies and 1rabbit so far what do you recon to my scope its a hawke 3-9-12 sport hd how do you get your shots so good i cant seem to hold my rifle still long enough?

The Barracuda's i think are the same as the Bisley Magnums.
Thank you very much.
Yes i shot one at the Midlands game fair and liked it for all its size.
Enjoy your videos. What sort of magnification are you typically using for birds out to 30-35 yards? Trying to find the right balance. Thanks!
Thank you.
We all miss from time to time.
I usually go out a few hours before dark but first light is good too.
Thank you i will.
I find it too difficult to shoot with a scope cam especially when i have little time to take the shot.
Excellent video. That springer is very nice. How are your PCP's doing. :-) Yes, being able to shoot those springers is a big plus. Very nice shooting my friend.
Good job mate. Its a shame but we don't have wood pigeons here in Australia
I've been watching and enjoying your vids...l noticed you shot several rifles....which one do you like best and second best?
Great shooting again Sir
Awesome vid again mate, that was one wicked hide you had there!!

Love the video's, your Hw97. 177 Bisley magnum combo is this a sub 12ftlbs or FAC?
The stoeger looks like a viable option, but i have found a SMK XS19 and a SMK mod 20 for much cheaper, would they be suitable?
ok thanks Jiinx2 just thinking what air rifle to get for crimbo getting bored with the springer so want a PCP
No i haven't got round to having it tuned yet.
I'm a beginner and have been using a smk synths. It is a nice air rifle but I have noticed that it does not seem to kill anything . Is there any air rifles you recommend for under 200 pounds ??

Do you load your springers when you get a shot or do you load it and leave it like that for an hour or so then shoot it to relax the spring?
Thanks for the reply!
Thanks.
Are you not concerned of "spring fatigue?"
Hy. I think it's not a clean kill each time with 177cal...At least not as effective as the 22cal or even the 25 .. What do you think about? Anyway your videos are just beautiful ..I learns a lot with them!

Hi, what's your opinion on the HW97?
I am thinking of buying the .22 version as my first rifle.
I've just bought a HW97KT (wood stock) in .177
Just wondering if your rifle is Tuned?
If it is, what would you recommend?
Thanks

hi HuntersVermin could i ask u advice ? If i fitted a gasram to my lightning xl make the trigger less stiff as there is not a lot of play on the adjustable trigger thanks ny adivise given would be gr8fully taken thank u
you are very deadly with the air rifle i have trouble sometimes just with the .22 rimfire on the squirrels but i realy dnt shoot very much. we both know that it takes practice
I know but i have to set the camera up first then get the rifle on aim.
The farmer did finally manage to lift it but only for round silage bales.
Very true thanks.
Good man, great videos.
