Not a bad bag considering the conditions. Those Magpies looked like young birds, old ones would have gone at the first shot. Great video, always enjoy your content.
Hi David, great entertainment as always. Even with the blasted wind, you still ended up with ( by my standards) a cracking bag of meat. Keep the good work mate. Looking forward to the next one.
I absolutely love decoying with the air rifle. I watched a load of your videos and got the bushwear hide and can now happily take 10+ woodies per session. Thanks for such helpful videos. I'd love to see more on carrion crows and how to decoy those as I struggle to get them to land.
Thanks very much glad you found the videos so useful and hopefully i'll get out after the hooded crows with the air rifle soon, but you could check out my other channel Nitro HV for some hooded crow action with a .17 Hornet.
Glad to see even the experts miss, I had my first go today only a basic springer in my back garden and a lot nearer, got 2 pigeons But they both needed finishing off, hit 4 more but just got feathers, Am off to get some pointy pellets tomorrow
Thanks for the video. Looks like a frustrating morning, but appreciate you sharing as it is informative and useful to see the challenging shoots as well as the easier ones
Hi David. Absolutely love your content/commentary. I do a good bit of varmint hunting (mainly squirrels and crows) in east Tennessee. I'd very much like to see how you make your bird cradles out of wire for decoys. Do you have a video on how to make them? Thank you again for the great videos David - we're big fans of your work here in east Tennessee!
Looking at the grass, the wind was changing direction and so missed shots are explainable. Perhaps a piece of natural looking dark green/buff brown garden hemp twine stuck into a notch at the top of your stick would help as an indicator.
Great video. Just a thought for you about the wind. If you look at it like a clock face and 12 o’clock is straight ahead and the wind was coming from about 8 o’clock pushing you to the right. The angle will change if you are shooting to your left or right (say aiming 10 o’clock or 2 o’clock). So shooting towards 2 o’clock you will almost have only a tail wind and aiming at 10 o’clock you will have full value and obviously need more hold. See what I mean. You will need 3 sticks next time you go out in the wind. We are over run with Magpies- keep it up.
Yes i see what you mean and it would explain a lot too. If i mind right the wind was coming from behind and the left with the hedge sheltering me as the wind was blowing strongly in the field but hardly moving the hide.
Great video very entertaining its so refreshing to see a hunter who also shows his misses as well as hits, keep up the good work. Best regards Ron H Lancashire.
Good show! Hope you had fun because I sure enjoyed watching your video. Even with the shooting trouble you appear to have bagged enough for a pretty big pie (:
My 30ft/lb + FX crown would have been a better chose but the 22 rim fire might have been a bit much for shots at 10 to 20 yards, though i would like to try decoying pigeons to the rim fire some time if i ever get land suitable for it.
Great little hide you have there! Could you show more inside the hide how you have the rifle and rest and of outside the hide when you have the gun sticking through. A vid of how you make your bird cradles would be good, the size of wire you use too would be handy. It makes them look more alive and I would like to make some! No farting this time! Your other vid made me chuckle! 💨 😆
No farting this time i must be eating right or something, Have a look at these older vids. ua-cam.com/video/o1jrnt06x14/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/JGHXr7kd6iM/v-deo.html

Crackin video - I really appreciate the fact you show all your shots - they show the reality of field work, plus you absolutely nailed it at the end... Well done for persevering, what with it being so windy and running out of air, some may have called it a day much earlier. I often wonder how long you're shooting for to get such good numbers? Any chance you'll let us behind the 4th wall? 😆 Cheers! Rich.
That sounds like a good thing to have with you unfortunatly my superten doen't have a quick fill port so i need a couple of spanners to help charge the bottle which isn't somthing you can do in a hide. Might be time for an up grade.
One of the tricks I was told when shooting with a tricky cross wind is to aim at the left hand edge of the kill zone when the wind is from left to right, as in your case. If you hadn't noticed that the wind had dropped a bit you are still in the kill zone but I expect you know this trick. As always another most enjoyable video.
It is good advice, i just couldn't understand why i could hit my range marker stick at 30 yards in the wind yet struggle to hit birds at 20 yards or so.
Humour, you got to have humour in a video every now and then, otherwise, without it, it's just like cooking a nice meal without the seasoning, even if it is only a dash of salt.
Young Magpies can be suicidal sometimes 👍 🤔Magpies seem to have done well this year with large broods and seem to be later this year , maybe second brood? if they do that I don’t know?
Well i already have a video on cleaning a wood pigeon and the wife is the one who cooks them now as she's much better at it than me but she doesn't really want to be on video.
Talking about humour please please please please ! Can we have the cows head again, one of the funniest things I've seen on a hunting vid. Cheers pal really enjoyed this video, I like the Cranky voice, but only in moderation

Yeah i would agree they'd never been shot at before.

My thought too.
Thanks very much hay.
Liked the fact you left your misses in the video, shows you only human... That was entertaining thank you for that... Big C 😎
Thanks very much glad you enjoyed it.

Your patience & persistence paid off in difficult 'airgun' conditions imo .. 👍
Thanks as always for sharing David, a tidy bag. atvb t .. 😉
Thanks for that Tadpole your too kind.
Love the picture in picture mode in this video, great work.👍
Thanks i'm thinking of doing it more as it seamed hard to see the birds at times in the field footage.
Please keep these coming David, they’re great videos to watch whilst recovering! Thank you.

Another grand wee video David keep up the good work on those magpies

Love it.. What a lovely magpie spree.. Excellent stuff.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it.
It's brilliant to watch another of your videos. Thanks for posting.

@@HuntersVermin Thank you for sharing the video clip - very much appreciated!! Keep up the great work!
Another excellent video my friend !! Well done from Cyprus 🇨🇾!!
Thanks very much.

I started the day with some grass in that notch but it wasn't long till the wind had blown it away, twine would have been better.
Never stop doing what you like doing .
Thanks for that its good advice.

Hi David,
Thanks for another great video, I always enjoy your filems!
My pleasure!
Excellent hunt, David! Thank you for the video.
Thank you for watching them.
Great bag and especially on the Magpies 👍
Thanks 👍
Really enjoy watching your videos and of course commentary which is quite funny sometimes, (new subscriber).
Thanks very much for subbing.
Always a treat to watch ur vids

Great vid David and pleased your not doing the silly voice over. 👌👌👍👍
Ah not this time but some people do enjoy it and it does make the editing more enjoyable for me but i'll have to tone it back some what.
I've just bought one of those pop up hides and was wondering what shooting sticks do you use in yours. ?
I used to just use a DIY short set of shooting sticks but now i use a set of sticks from Vanguard QUEST T62U
Great video, I know how you feel, it can be frustrating when the wind plays havoc with your pellets.
Thank you.
Another excellent video David, well done.
Geoff.
Many thanks!
Good show! Hope you had fun because I sure enjoyed watching your video. Even with the shooting trouble you appear to have bagged enough for a pretty big pie (:
It was frustrating at the time but once i saw what i'd got through the day i was happier.
Should have brought the 77......wouldn't have run out of air then! 😁. Great stuff! Magpies were a bonus
Yeah i must get the 97 back out again sometime.
@@HuntersVermin O yea...I have a 77....I meant the 97 😃

Oh no not the magpies the wood pigeons yes but not magpies they eat road kill and anything else they find.

Thanks i usually sit 4 to 5 hours but the longest i have sat is 8 hours which was a long day for 9 magpies and a hooded crow.
Muy buen video y terrible control de plagas 👍👍🧉🇦🇷 saludos 👍
Thanks for watching.
Great video as always 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice shot💯💯💯💯👍👍👍
Thank you.
How heavy a pellet were you shooting? Do you go heavier in high winds?
No i just stick to the same pellet as i know it well JSB 15.89 grain Exact Jumbo Diabolo.
Ever thought of bringing along a small air tank when you go hunting?
I shoot a bsa ultra mmc and a have a carbon 1.1 litre weekender bottle. Keeps er on point mate. Don’t get frustrated keep going

Where's the fx david
In the gun safe, wish i had brought it now.
😂 my mama always told me there'd be days like this,
Amazing magpie shoot!
Thanks.
Can i buy wood pigeons from you?
David, have to dust off your FX crown and shot slugs in the wind. Great video as usual, thanks.
Yeah it would have been a better tool for the job than the superten that day.
