    I like this guy. You can tell he’s meticulous. Just little things, like how organized his shop is, how he cleans up and organizes as he is working, etc. Organization and cleanliness says so much about a person and their quality of work as a whole.

      I never understood the "making a mess" at work and not cleaning it up immediately. either it gets left till the end of the day, or maybe not at all... I cooked professionally for 24 years. People would wipe whatever was on their work station, right onto the floor. Instead if moving their trash can 5 feet to wipe it into, or into their hand to throw out in the trash. Before it was mandatory I would make a small container of Sanitizing solution. One for the table and such, and one for utensils and my knives... Spotless, all day, every day... I used to tell guys "I dont want to know what your prep list consisted of by looking at your floor or table... lol

      Just so I make sure I wasn’t being confusing, I was referring to the Chris guy from 6Sixty Raceworks. Yes, I know Steve is equally meticulous with his own work, but my original comment was directed at you Chris. I like to see people who do quality work succeeding and building their brand!

    growing up we had a wagon and a 78 lemans wagon. They both were one of the best riding and handling cars ever for the time with stock four link. Think that's one of the things I like about you. I get the wagons. Growing up we built many wagons just to get around. Honestly torn on my fav. 1965 impala wagon or the 1980 Malibu wagon.

    I've seen a number of units done at Tech schools over the years and they were always solid. It makes sense as you have a class that's usually fresh and eager to work/learn and also an instructor overseeing them. Plus they usually have a semester or two of worth of time as they slowly go through the process.

My father had a 79 with the 6 cylinder and it was like a metallic baby blue and grown up I always asked him to fix it up that day never came. But that metallic gunmetal gray with that red interior and those two tones seats just awesome please don't change the seats if for some reason they're unsafe please try to transfer that same look onto another set they just go with the idea that you have for that build.

    That is a real intelligent solution. Use the fast forward cursor, really! By the time it takes you to jump back and forth to ensure that you do not miss any content you may as well leave well enough alone and watch the promo! Defeats the purpose of Premium UA-cam.
    As for promoting his merchandise, it is typically at the end on his videos and really short. One can simply terminate the video.

    Steve, it’s been a year or so since I did the 8.50 cage in my G-Body Malibu, but I’m
    Pretty sure that cage is going to need a dash bar and lateral supports off the main hoop under the harness bar. Great looking ride, you should look into boxing in the frame with the Hellwig Frame FX kit. It did wonders for stiffening up the flimsy frame under those cars.

    • @misterquintus
      @misterquintus Рік тому +5

      Dash bar isn't required on a stock Firewall car at 8.50, Lateral Supports ("D" bars) are only required if the main hoop is on plates not the frame .

    I find this to be an awesome build as I am doing largely the same with my 68 Malibu. Love the color also. I don't have a chassis shop close by, so I have a lot of questions and hopefully you can do some more detailed videos in the future. Questions I have, it looks like the cage is being mig welded, meaning mild steel, why did you chose that over chrome moly? Showing more detail of the amount of cut out needed to weld the cage to the frame would be helpful. Assuming solid body mount bushings were installed? Steering column, are you leaving that, or building a new shaft with u joints on each end? Installing a lightweight column like Motions? The master cylinder is interesting, it is a newer style GM deal which has a 1-1/8 - 1-1/2 bore, which is generally not ideal for manual brakes? Brand of seats? Thanks

You'll have to park side by side so everyone be seeing Double Malibu... 🤯 They look like about the same color. Should run about the same ET too... I like how you're setting everything up... Not too crazy, Stereo, Seats, Glass... You know keeping it functional, like a street car should be. Not over the top like your wagon. Someday I want to get my old 74' camaro set up like that to... I got old, put the Camaro in the garage 20yr ago, My buddy Anderson there, well he just kept racing. Back then we 13s were fast. and now he's running all these crazy race events running 8s, just WOW... Makes me wish I would have stuck with it a bit more back then to. I like those 20yr old wheels too look cool, LOL 😅 Who's starting to feel old... ✋️😜

    Anytime I talked to my wife about building a drag and drive vehicle it's exactly like this. Something that looks, drives, and performs with easy but when you stomp on the pedal it's a monster.

      And 8.50 is not a slouch class. Definitely what I would build a car for as well....if I didn't have these damn horses😆

    Doggo said he likes his new whip pops haha thing is sweet Steve. Race cars are fun but having something to rip on without worrying so much is even better.
