@@redfrog9717 Alright, not sure who censored me, but this time, I won't let you think I went quiet. You're going in a dumpster: It was that kind of morning. A morning where the troubles of yesterday and the day before that and all the days before it were thwarted by the bright, fresh atmosphere of a new day. Muted sunlight filtered through the high window located just above the table, where two individuals -- a woman and a mid-adolescent boy -- sat. The light easily glanced off the articles of the room, and if one were to turn their gaze towards the woman's slack figure, they would notice in an instant how the rays reflected softly on her, most apparent now in the shining pearls of her eyes. The woman's lips were curved just so, and though she was past that age where young men would flock simply to win such an expression from her, she shone a sort of admirable youth. She sighed, and it sounded like a gentle breeze. This morning was itself similar to a little miracle, like the flare of a camera flash, she thought to herself. And there, in front of her, was her son, the light of her life. The boy chewed noisily on his breakfast, disrupting the peace that the earliness brought, as his mother watched. He tore into his meal, and the fat and oils dripped from his mouth and stained the surface of the table. So engrossed was he in his food that he jumped when his mother idly toyed with her spoon and caused her neatly finished plate to ring. He stared at her in astonished disbelief. "Mom!" he shouted. "What just happened there?! You trying to throw me off my groove thang?! It's eight in the morning, my sinuses are loaded with the viral equivalent of the United States Marine Corps, and I don't have enough milk for my raisin bran! Do I have to give you shit?!" An expression of shock flashed across the woman's features. "Dylan, what are-? Please calm down..." "Dodging, are we? Aha, I can see through you like I work at Lenscrafters who also polishes the windows on a company skyscraper in a New York boulevard! Not that you can ever see one 'cause you're so poor! Why are you staring at me with your mouth open like that? Yeah, 'cause I'm toooootally the one being crazy right now. Tooooooooooootally." The boy Dylan rolled his eyes affectedly many times than what was appropriate. Swallowing, the woman shook her head and spoke, "What are you saying? Why are you angry? Is that attitude necessary right now?" The youth's face scrunched into itself, and suddenly the soft sunlight felt like fire upon the woman's skin. It crept up and into her skin, and she recoiled suddenly as if burned. "Pretentious, holier-than-thou, I-don't-know-anything act now, is it? Is Clinton my grandfather? But I guess I can't really say that because if it were true those bad politics could lead us down a slippery slope shaped like a mollusk. Ha ha ha! Why aren't you laughing? That joke never gets old so eat shit!" Dylan hollered disdainfully. "You're gonna parrot some bullshit like you're an armchair psychologist now, ain'tcha? Armchair psychologists only stay on their armchairs 'cause they're so old, y'know! So which is it?! Parrot or psychologist? Or maybe you're a transgender parrot and/or psychologist which makes you disgusting!" It was the sneer. That damned sneer. It blanketed her vision and darkened the room, and so she closed her eyes to it. She stomped her foot, and, shaking her head, she steeled her voice. "Dylan, I will not have this today. I don't know what's gotten into you recently, but you have been like this for far too long and I am sick and tired of it. Go to your room. Now. We will talk about your aggressive behavior when your father is home. I want some peace and quiet right now." She sighed again and this time it sounded like a stiff gust of wind. Her hung head was turned away from the window and her eyes shone only with weariness. She looked every much her age in this moment. "You're like every mother in the world, trying to push your feminist ideals down my throat! Aggressive? See, I knew it! It's 'cause of my muh-soggy-knee right? Holy shit, how did I not see this before?! Also, what's this about going to my room? You gonna pin me down on my bed and have your way with me?! You shotacon! And get your mouth off Dad's dick like some puny little barnacle that no likes looking at because it's so damn ugly and probably smells like fish that I'd throw into a vat of frying oil in a heartbeat, which I won't have if I eat too much fried food! I mean, I've tried sucking dicks before and I can tell you it ain't fun! Like how Steve Jobs isn't having any fun now! Ha ha ha ha HA HA! Are you Steve Jobs? Naw, can't be, 'cause no one likes you and you don't have cancer, because you ARE cancer! Woop! "But whatever! I'm goin' to my room now, but just so you know I'm doing it ironically. Toooooooooooooooooootally. I'm being ironic, see! Just like this -" Dylan straightened both his palms, thrust out his hips, and struck his pelvis on either side of his genitals with the edge of his hands "-- is ironic! HA! Are my words killing you?! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be lounging in my room like your so-called definition of "faggot" where the magic happens if you know what I mean but ew gross if you do that means you really DO think of me like that which means you ARE a pedo and like a reverse Oedipus Complexer but anyway that's where I'll be reading up on Fate/Stay Night which has way more world building, power levels, and damn good action scenes than this place while getting high even though I really shouldn't be doing that while playing games and jacking it..." The youth stormed off, taking his aimless ramblings with him. Gone was the brightness of the day, but at last it was quiet again. All the mother could do was sit down and cry.

@@Medbread That's debatable. Hercules could put up a very good challenge if he didn't have to guard Illya, then there's EMIYA who'd be a perfect counter to him with the exception of Ea, and then if he gets past Archer there's also Shirou and Arturia with their combined powers that could more than likely defeat him, otherwise, yeah. He could take probably end a grail war in a night. Probably.
You never mentioned that though Angelica overpowers him, she only does it with an actual example of his very argument; sometimes one thing does outweigh everything else. His entire drive here is that he is willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of the world in order to make his sister happy, because her life means more to him than all the countless others. In the same vein, Ea is one sword whose power is paramount and it is capable of overpowering the combined might of every other sword in existence. Shirou even knows he can't stop it as soon as he looks at it because he can't read and duplicate its power. Such a perfectly written scene, that the antagonist only wins the fight by embodying the protagonist's ideal, and in so doing allows the protagonist to win because he achieved his goal even so.
@@demi-fiendoftime3825 Thanks for the tip! I was avoiding anything with that title for the sake of my lunch staying inside me, but I feel like you've given me hope there's more great anime I can watch.
@@o0Avalon0o one problem you need seasons 1-3 for context though I've heard the manga has far less lolicon fanservice so might just want to skim those real quick before jumpin in. Season 1 was an OK show just a normal Magical Girl show but seasons 2 and 3 were painful to get through due to all the fanservise that made me worry the fbi was going to bust down my door any second and 90% of it is caused by one charicter.
As someone that just generally likes Shirou/EMIYA, I can say that Miyu's Brother is great. I love seeing a take on the character basically just being as awesome as he can be throughout all his screentime. Even if the ideals and characterization are different, we basically get Shirou at the end of UBW for the whole time in terms of powerset. And that's cool. I'd say Unlimited Blade Works is always a win.
@Empyrean Void ubw shirou walked out of the grail war knowing full well what would happen if he became a counter guardian, yet fully preparing to be one anyway. Of the three routes, only heavens feel shirou wouldn't become a CG in the best route.
i think the reason is that in that exact moment miyu was finally teleported, with all the things surrounding her that was holly grail realted, including angelica's card, so she detransformed and enuma elish dissapeared
Idk if I just missed you mentioning this, but I absolutely LOVE the scene where Angelica whips out Ea, completely overpowers all of Shirou's blade, and says that the importance of one can overshadow the importance of many. Then Shirou just thinks about Miyu, who he chose to save over everyone else in the world, and says something like "yeah, it really can"
It's very indicative of how amazing Oath Under Snow is that this is the only Fate story that ever got me to shed tears. Seriously, everything about this Shirou's journey, his rejection of being a hero when weighed against the value of a loved one's life, and his sheer conviction in staying true to that ultimate revelation... It all just hits me so much in the feels, especially when he acknowledges Angelica's victory which itself only serves to affirm his ideal; sometimes one thing can outweigh everything else. Absolutely beautiful.
When I started Prisma Illya it was just because I wanted Fate content. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. I chose to read the manga because I could finish it faster than the anime. When I mentioned this online I was immediately told to watch Oath Under Snow. I almost didn't, because I wasn't liking the series so far. I'm glad I changed my mind, because while I love Shirou as a character in the original Fate/Stay Night. This Shirou has become my favourite. Thanks for this video on Shirou. It was really fun to watch.
I always love seeing you do videos on Shirou. Whether it's the full analysis on his character, the shorts or something like this. I've said it before but you really seem to *get* Shirou Emiya.
And, objectively, better in some cases: For example, Gil is strong as fuck boiiii, but his EX ego keeps him from actually showing most of his capabilities; other example is Artoria and Diarmuid and their chivalry and honor to duel each other fairly, while not as bad as Mr. EX Arrogance is still somewhat of a problem. With the cards you don't have to deal with servants ideologies or detrimental qualities in personality so you can access to their powers and use them under your own way of doing things. Another advantage the cards have is that you don't need to waste mana to keep them unlike the servants, also you really never are unprotected since you always have the card with you, unlike say the servant is in the other edge of the city (which would either end with you dead or wasting a command spell to teleport it) And lastly, what you said and was shown in the movie, you also get to use your own abilities alongside the servants powers, true they aren't as strong as the real thing (i think they were one or two ranks lower) but think of the sheer practicality of being able to use your spells, mystic eyes, mystic codes, psychic abilities, etc. Together with the servants powers and without restrictions imposed by them, or mana shortage or other things, i think that while the servants themselves are undoubtedly stronger, the cards system is more versatile and practical with it's applications that the power difference is barely an incovenience
I can see why they are an interesting and good concept, but I personally don’t like them or how they are used in most cases. Oath Under Snow is my favourite use of them and I really like the arc, but I still don’t like the class cards that much. It’s just a personal bias on my part.
@@armandomendoza7371 yes, but i love the Idea of another person been there, the servant himself For me, the best of two World would be, you have the Cardoh, but the servant became something like a Phantom Thats keep follwing and talking tô you and other, giving Tips, comments, etc
Thank you for making this. Oath Under Snow gets it’s share of love but no one addressed it’s positives the way you did. Also hell yes I love Noriaka’s range and emotion. Hey BlueDrakma you also missed the fact that when shinji took sakra's heart it was in the shape of her command seal *Plus 1 Edit: ment to say 'her' command seal, and not 'the' commamd seal and thx BlueDrakma
Probably the reason Shirou survived is because MIyu teleportation is complete. As Shirou dialogue on that particular moment when the moon finally eclipsed he said that he finally know the reason he could actually fight that well is partly because Miyu is supplying him Prana as this war Holy Grail. With MIyu gone he lost the necessary prana to maintain UBW and most possibly all of the cards lose the ability to transform as evidence by Angelica revert back to her normal form later for no reason. Because Miyu is the core of the HGW Angelica Install are canceled last minute and somehow Shirou managed to avoid direct impact from Ea.
Everything Great About OUS: Everything. The movie is a masterpiece and the best adaptation of a Fate work to date. What's been added are all fantastic additions and hardly anything from the original manga was left out to craft one of the most emotional and impactful stories that TM has in the anime medium. I love this movie to death.
I love how fgo babylonia also makes everything feel alive with lots of animation, voice acting and camera shots. I thought it would be mediocre but then I was really impressed when watching. I would love a video just about apreciating the anime.
I love the tiny animation details you picked up. My favorite part of the movie is how Shirou slowly loses the people he loves, forcing him to join the grail war and eventually choose Miyu over the world.
I love the way the movie says shirou with archer card joins the war he wins is basically if emiya (archer) started with full memories and didn’t hold back and had a very good master (rin is good a good master but the problem is that every master in the grail war except for Kirei and kazuki is mediocare except for rin and sakura (when she actively plays the role) but this shows that emiya is strong when he is fully ready
What are the GoB users' views on using Ea? Gilgamesh: Such a weapon is only fit to be used on the likes of me. I'll never really have to use it on anyone anyways. Angelica: So anyway, I started Elishing.
Kid Gil: (in FGO/3wrei) was unable to use Ea as he could not supply enough mana to use the weapon or it wasn't in his treasury Archer Gil: I would never use this weapon on anyone except the Gods or those equal to me. (Zashu!) Caster Gil: I have sealed that weapon so that it would never be used as it would be used on Uruk or the world itself. Angelica: I would use the sword when I'm losing the fight.
I feel as though there should've been a mention or something about OUS Shirou's design, when he is the Heroic Spirit EMIYA, is more similar to Muramasa's design (from Fate/ Grand Order) then it is to any of the other EMIYA's design from all of the Fate series, which in turn further separates OUS Shirou from all of the other Shirou's. As well as their motives for their goal's being similar compared to the other EMIYA's. OUS Shirou's goal to reunite with Miyu and to give her a happy life and Muramasa's goal to create a blade that will cut destiny/ karma itself. Both of their goal's are more selfish compared to the EMIYA's goal of helping/ saving everyone's lives. This is just something i thought of when I was first watching OUS.
Note though that this Emiya came before Muramasa, so it's the latter who was inspired by the former. And this Emiya's design is considered to be a combination of Emiya, the Angry Mango, and the Limited/Zero Over CE iirc.
@@Pamasich just letting you know, the Limited/ Zero Over CE IS Muramasa, as well as Fate/ Grand Order (2015) did come out before The original manga chapter of Shirou's arc in Fate Kaelid (some time between late 2018 to early 2019), so again, OUS Shirou is still more based on Muramasa not the other way around
Archer-Install Shirou takes a lot of aesthetics from other versions of Shirou. Shirou's left arm covered with the red sleeve is from the Shroud of Martin in HF. The bandana is from F/HA Avenger design. The white cloak when Shirou first installs the card is from FGO Limited Zero Over Shirou. But my favourite aesthetic is the flower shaped tie on Shirou's left chest that's holding the left red sleeve.
Oceanman0958 Limited/Zero Over is to Muramasa as the Lion King is to Lancer Artoria, they are connected, and look almost exactly the same but are different people. L/ZO is the Shirou that got possessed by Muramasa
yes finally sosmeone giving this movie and this shirou the recognition they deserve .. i love shirou as a character generally .. i get where he comes from generally .. but this shirou is way too relatable onceyou take magic and everything else super natural i too would gladly be the villain and i too would choose my sister over the world ..seeing shirou as a villain for the right cause is a treat and silver link absolutely deliverd.. i still like the fact that we were shown that the ainsworth weren't in the wrong and that basically they are sacrificing the one (miyu) for the world .. but shirou choosing miyu over the world was amazing ..holding angelica until the wish is fulfilled was a great fight .. it was a fight in vain but it won him the war .. ironically this is the only movie where a wish is actually granted from the grail .. technically apocryoha's grail war was won without destroying the grail and so wishes could be made but i don't feel like it was really fullfiled unlike this one also snowstorm UBW is indeed best UBW
AMAZING video. I thought you PERFECTLY channeled cinemawins and I love how often in the video you brought up colors as a storytelling method rather than simply how it looks pretty. Not only that, but you seem to know so much about this universe that it was fun to learn a little bit of trivia to understand the significance of the little moments in this movie. Keep making these with this passion that I see and I'll love you forever!
I love that you've done this. Seeing people praise the good in things is so much more refreshing than seeing them shit of the bad things. If I could make one suggestion, perhaps lower the pitch and/or volume of the win counter. It's a little harsh when compared to your voice and the anime.
you should have include scene where Miyu arrives in Illya world, which for me is one of the most beautiful. Her experiencing loneliness almost breaking sadness, but also with a certain hope and determination searching for that glimpse of light Shirou wanted her to find. What made the scene so amazing was CHouchou song "Kaleidoscope" perfectly embracing Miyu feelings. "Developing feelings step, by step in searching of that glimpse of warm light". On one side we see her walking all alone on night street experiencing extreme sadness. However, song clearly shows us that she clings to that determination. Which is also presented in streets, which are were light, presenting hope she wants to The music goes in stronger rythms culiminates in awesome way when Miyu meets Luvia saying that she would gather cards for her instead asking iconic "give me food" "give me clothes" "give me bed where I can sleep" Concluding how broken and cold on one side she is, asking only to survive. Yet clearly there is more behind her worse, as there is still willingness to find that warm light.
This is very interesting how similiar yet contrastive it is to Illya story in Fate/stay night -Miyu - rescued by her family, so that she escapes cruel fate of becoming sacrificial lamb for Ainsworth. Although still broken, she has hope she tries to cling. -Illya - not rescued by her family, so eventually she gives up on finding any hope and decides to accept that her only choice is to live as sacrificial lamb for Einzberns.
I think Julian is not a fake friend to Shirou, he's devastated when he discovered that Shirou is the one who's been keeping Miyu and he could have easily kill Shirou at the end of the movie when he's about to go meet Miyu.
Shirou even says: Julian, you are like another possibility of mine And in the manga they continue this similarities when you learn of his backstory, honestly Julian needs a fucking hug so bad, his dad got conceptually replaced with his ancestor due to a curse, pandora tried to kill herself with the deformed fork he made and then her memories got whipped out and started from point one, his childhood friend died in front of him when she was going to declare herself and when revived she lost her memories of her family and her love for him, his dad and older sister died in that same accident and he got the curse of darius and all the responsability instead, then he learns that his best friend is actually the thief who took the key to both saving the world from degradation and Darius, and letting her sister finally die with a smile on her face. I don't know man my boy here really needs to take a break and serious love, i never seen anyone pointing out this things because of shirou and illya taking the spot
YESSSSSSSSSSS! I loved Shirou in this movie. The fact that he was actually skilled in magecraft made him so badass, and his relationship with Miyu was great. Also, I hope you do Heaven's Feel or UBW
he didn't due to Miyu disappearing Shirou instantly loses the mana pool he's been drawing from and UBW disappears, basically swallowing the Ea blast before it can hit him
This movie was a pretty huge surprise. I liked Prisma Illya, especially 3rei, so I was pretty excited to see what they could do with the movie and oh, man, it did not disappoint. If Ufotable are masterful at using their resources to make masterpieces, Silver Link went above and beyond to get the absolute best out of what they were working with. Animation budget aside, the cinematography and stills were almost too good and the final fight was a much needed highlight that's up there with the best of them. The movie really delivered.
How 2 watch Prisma Illya 101: 1. Watch OUS 2. Ignore any episode that doesn't include the true protagonist in it (Gotta appreciate that they got their shit together when Miyuverse Shirou decided to pay a visit)
I read the manga, and honestly i don't even remember the fanservice scenes except for like 2 of them, in the manga there aren't many scenes like that and if there are they're usually really forgettable and quick, the anime is really a problem when the scenes are very long and are served right in your face
You're missing a ton of good shit then. If you think OUS is a wild ride, you haven't seen what comes after. Just read the manga instead. Minase did the anime very dirty.
The Shinji and Angelica fights are just so great in this movie. Fate has a loooot of good fight scenes but, even this spin-off isn't the most known, they will always be in my personal top 10
Very good analysis of the movie. You had several good points. You ought to take this and run with it some - make "Everything Great About" videos of some other anime/Fate stuff.
"Manga's better" The anime was absolutely beautiful with regarding use of colors and some cinematography, but the manga's artwork is just so beautiful and so clean that the movie just doesn't compare. Especially that Shiro breakdown scene(Voice acting was so good tho). On a side note, that Miyu and Shiro bonding scene in the beginning was absolutely adorable.
Really like how you took up CinemaWins' book on how to make the video, down to SFXs and what's considered a win. I've always loved his videos and now I get to see it used on an anime movie, great work, amazing vid :)
I think the reason why Shirou survived is because Enuma Elish is Anti-World and a Reality Marble is a world. Like how Gilgamesh used that on Iskandar to destroy his Reality Marble, only the ‘World’ was destroyed and not the owner of the ‘World’. Shirou and Iskandar were also shown to have been heavily exhausted and burdened by Ea in their respective shows. Just my personal theory though.
And this is movie is another reason of why I like so much the Fate Kaleid spinoff, well, excluding the ecchi scenes that it has (which I hate) but outside of that it's still my favorite Fate, and maybe the only one I like (Fate franchise if not for me), yes, I know that this movie is kinda similar to the other Fates, but the way it was handled here make me love it.
Quick question. What’s your favorite ost in his movie. Cause mine are Clear Ruin and Tragic Resolve. The first played in the battle with Angelica and the other played in the caster fight.
Hehehehehehe your not wrong Blue. Though as much as I love Snowstorm UBW, Third Fang’s From Fake Dreams UBW is a lot more imo. To those who haven’t read From Fake Dreams I *HIGHLY* recommend it, and while I’d say more the things I’d say to get you to read would be in the spoiler category and thus lighten the impact they have. CHEERS BLUE!!! \@.@/ Live. Laugh. Repeat.
After seeing Illya fight Saber Alter in the first series, I was in firmly on the Prillya train. The series is full of great moments that cement it was worth watching like the Bazett "fight" if you can describe Bazett running a pain train on the entire cast single handedly with barely a scratch a "fight", Illya vs corrupted Kid Gil, Gorgon vs Thor, etc.
You talked about angelica using Ea when the time is right but Remember UBW shirou challenged gilgy boy on can gil's armory match shirou's weapons that are copies but as string as the original If gil had used Ea while fighting UBW shirou Lets just say he threw away his reasons to hang around in the realm He wanted the grail but also have fun Whats the point on one shotting emiya Gil even acknowledge emiya as strong which if you based of babylonia gil had seen all kinds of enemies so his "strong" might be rivalling quetzcoal or ishtar Angelica isnt gilgamesh but only a doll controlled to use all her means to complete an objective
Well this comment is kinda old but eh why not respond So for one the weapons of ubw aren't as strong as the original, shirou just said "there's no law that a fake can't surpass the original" but we do know that his projections will always be one rank lower then the original weapon unless he turns them into broken phantasm Second the Gilgamesh shirou fought wasn't babylonian Gilgamesh they are from different points in Gilgamesh's myth with the Archer one being before he went on his trip to acquire immortality Third fate babylonia meaning it's fundementally different then the original myth which is why you see someone like gorgon or queltquoaltel in there even though they come from completely different myths
@@Recon-601 at least its worth the attention given its only source is the game Tbh if it ends now i'd be satisfied because with just the game source alone for the anime it topped off a bunch of anime who had millions of manga sales
I also have some very big problems with Prisma/Illya so whenever I hear you talk about Oath Under Snow I always do a double-take. Guess I'm finally going to watch this movie
I only saw the first episode of prisma illya and I already hated myself then i saw this movie and the episodes this shirou appeared in and loved it this shirou is one of my favorites and I'm excited to see more of this shirou
Oath Under Snow did a great job making Shirou a far more likable character. I mean no offense to the other main 3 routes, each have a Shirou that I can understand and even like to some extent, but this is where I just related to him, similarly to his Heaven’s Feel counterpart. It goes to show that when it comes saving individuals that one loves, we relate to that far more.
i think the reason he survived is that in that exact moment miyu was finally teleported, with all the things surrounding her that was holly grail related, including angelica's card, so she detransformed and enuma elish dissapeared
He survived because the moment Miyu disappeared everything related to the holy grail disappeared from the world, including the Gilgamesh card and the Ea blast.
I don't know, the thing about Miyu!Shirou is that this movie is just basically redoing Heaven's Feel but removing the moral conflict of Sakura's situation. So you get to see Shirou discarding his ideals and getting Archer's powers to protect his loved ones without the ickiness that comes from Sakura's role as the villain in HF.
As explained in his previous video, in Heaven's Feel, Shirou still plays the role of hero despite what he thinks himself as. At the end of HF, both Sakura and the world are saved. It's just that by choosing the more difficult route of saving Sakura and wishing to be with her, he had doomed others that would have otherwise lived. Miyu!Shirou on the other hand chooses to outright doom the world and is fine with never seeing her again if it means she can find happiness. HF!Shirou wants to live with Sakura (Illya picks up on that), while Miyu!Shirou doesn't care if he himself dies (along with the world) as long as Miyu is happy.
Honestly this kind of movie is why I do like Fate/Kaleid. It started off as basically a magical girl spinoff with some fate elements. Yeah, the fanservice stuff and it went over the top but it was fine. But steadily the seriousness continued to pick up. To the point where this story could be told and it felt completely appropriate. This is honestly one of my favorite incarnations of Shirou in the franchise. Someone who lost everything, went through hell, and struggled like a madman to save his family. Even if it meant potentially dooming the world in the process. He fought a lot of difficult fights and he did lose the last one in terms of 1v1 combat. But he achieved his goals and at least for a time could be satisfied with that.
You definitely nailed CinemaWins. And I've briefly checked out AnimeWins I think? But yours was superior than AnimeWins. Keep up the good work man, this is probably one of the best animated movies I've seen at least.

@@BlueDrakma It shows. Easily. "Because someone should" is the single most Shirou line I've heard in any Fate fanwork.
The concept of using cards and magic instead of the servants themselves is interesting.
And, objectively, better in some cases:
For example, Gil is strong as fuck boiiii, but his EX ego keeps him from actually showing most of his capabilities; other example is Artoria and Diarmuid and their chivalry and honor to duel each other fairly, while not as bad as Mr. EX Arrogance is still somewhat of a problem. With the cards you don't have to deal with servants ideologies or detrimental qualities in personality so you can access to their powers and use them under your own way of doing things.
Another advantage the cards have is that you don't need to waste mana to keep them unlike the servants, also you really never are unprotected since you always have the card with you, unlike say the servant is in the other edge of the city (which would either end with you dead or wasting a command spell to teleport it)
And lastly, what you said and was shown in the movie, you also get to use your own abilities alongside the servants powers, true they aren't as strong as the real thing (i think they were one or two ranks lower) but think of the sheer practicality of being able to use your spells, mystic eyes, mystic codes, psychic abilities, etc. Together with the servants powers and without restrictions imposed by them, or mana shortage or other things, i think that while the servants themselves are undoubtedly stronger, the cards system is more versatile and practical with it's applications that the power difference is barely an incovenience
@@armandomendoza7371 Aye. That's true.

L/ZO is the Shirou that got possessed by Muramasa

i still like the fact that we were shown that the ainsworth weren't in the wrong and that basically they are sacrificing the one (miyu) for the world .. but shirou choosing miyu over the world was amazing ..holding angelica until the wish is fulfilled was a great fight .. it was a fight in vain but it won him the war .. ironically this is the only movie where a wish is actually granted from the grail .. technically apocryoha's grail war was won without destroying the grail and so wishes could be made but i don't feel like it was really fullfiled unlike this one

Which is also presented in streets, which are were light, presenting hope she wants to
The music goes in stronger rythms culiminates in awesome way when Miyu meets Luvia saying that she would gather cards for her instead asking iconic
"give me food"
"give me clothes"
"give me bed where I can sleep"
Concluding how broken and cold on one side she is, asking only to survive. Yet clearly there is more behind her worse, as there is still willingness to find that warm light.
This is very interesting how similiar yet contrastive it is to Illya story in Fate/stay night
-Miyu - rescued by her family, so that she escapes cruel fate of becoming sacrificial lamb for Ainsworth.
There's a lot of subtle details like that in this movie that makes you appreciate it more.
Like that small ripple in the water as you see Julian's back implying he's crying after Shirou walks past him after being hit in the feels.
Shirou even says: Julian, you are like another possibility of mine
And in the manga they continue this similarities when you learn of his backstory, honestly Julian needs a fucking hug so bad, his dad got conceptually replaced with his ancestor due to a curse, pandora tried to kill herself with the deformed fork he made and then her memories got whipped out and started from point one, his childhood friend died in front of him when she was going to declare herself and when revived she lost her memories of her family and her love for him, his dad and older sister died in that same accident and he got the curse of darius and all the responsability instead, then he learns that his best friend is actually the thief who took the key to both saving the world from degradation and Darius, and letting her sister finally die with a smile on her face. I don't know man my boy here really needs to take a break and serious love, i never seen anyone pointing out this things because of shirou and illya taking the spot

The idea of Snowstorm Unlimited Blade Works is so goddamn cool. Making already one of my favorite powers even cooler.
Literally
The movie that helped me to understand Sakura's character more so than the main fate series
The most relatable, and yet cold version of shirou, ar least to me.
O God above I have seen your wisdom and my faith has been renewed
Hey kirei! You suck.
@@mr.searcher3507 Stop harassing the priest, Satan!
Well I hope Type Moon makes a series with this version of Shirou summoning Lancer Artoria
12:49 “Striking Green” It’s more of an ice blue to me.
6:25 nooo that's too cute

Quick question. What’s your favorite ost in his movie. Cause mine are Clear Ruin and Tragic Resolve. The first played in the battle with Angelica and the other played in the caster fight.
Basic choice for me, but EMIYA. This cover kills.
BlueDrakmaVA It is awesome especially how it’s used as well.
@@BlueDrakma well the right answer is always EMIYA.
invisible moon ost always make me sad
Mine is Self-Righteousness Without Hesitation
Hehehehehehe your not wrong Blue.
Though as much as I love Snowstorm UBW, Third Fang’s From Fake Dreams UBW is a lot more imo.
To those who haven’t read From Fake Dreams I *HIGHLY* recommend it, and while I’d say more the things I’d say to get you to read would be in the spoiler category and thus lighten the impact they have.
CHEERS BLUE!!! \@.@/
Live. Laugh.
SNOWSTORM UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS FTW
In the Shirou vs Angelica match, only complaint I have is that at the end he could have sent some swords from behind her.
@Veneser Aban Ever heard of limited sense and vision?
You talked about angelica using Ea when the time is right but
Remember UBW shirou challenged gilgy boy on can gil's armory match shirou's weapons that are copies but as string as the original
If gil had used Ea while fighting UBW shirou
Lets just say he threw away his reasons to hang around in the realm
He wanted the grail but also have fun
Whats the point on one shotting emiya
Gil even acknowledge emiya as strong which if you based of babylonia gil had seen all kinds of enemies so his "strong" might be rivalling quetzcoal or ishtar
Angelica isnt gilgamesh but only a doll controlled to use all her means to complete an objective
Well this comment is kinda old but eh why not respond
So for one the weapons of ubw aren't as strong as the original, shirou just said "there's no law that a fake can't surpass the original" but we do know that his projections will always be one rank lower then the original weapon unless he turns them into broken phantasm
Second the Gilgamesh shirou fought wasn't babylonian Gilgamesh they are from different points in Gilgamesh's myth with the Archer one being before he went on his trip to acquire immortality
Third fate babylonia meaning it's fundementally different then the original myth which is why you see someone like gorgon or queltquoaltel in there even though they come from completely different myths
@@Recon-601 so long story short
Fate multiverse is complicated
@@platelet5942it's the only fact that stays consistent
@@Recon-601 at least its worth the attention given its only source is the game
Tbh if it ends now i'd be satisfied because with just the game source alone for the anime it topped off a bunch of anime who had millions of manga sales
I thought this was Anime Sins *WHAT* damn this is a good vid
Shirou's Archer Install is an amalgamation of all Shirou Emiyas from the current Fate Franchise.
I also have some very big problems with Prisma/Illya so whenever I hear you talk about Oath Under Snow I always do a double-take. Guess I'm finally going to watch this movie
Gilgamesh pulls out Ea when necessary too. He just didn't have access to the displacement magic necessary to survive long enough to get there.
Gil was going to use Ea but his pride makes him refuse to use it for a second and that's why in UBW Shirou won the fight
*"hadjajjsakkkkhhahahhhh"*
I second this.
I loved this movie. I should rewatch it, especially some time before the next season.
a bit late but the scene where shirou wakes up to kirei kinda reminds me of how Kirei and Kiritsugu are always put as similar but different people
That Fate/GO screenshot made me geek 🤣 really have all been there
I only saw the first episode of prisma illya and I already hated myself then i saw this movie and the episodes this shirou appeared in and loved it this shirou is one of my favorites and I'm excited to see more of this shirou
Great video. It makes me wanna watch the movie for 5th time.
i think the reason he survived is that in that exact moment miyu was finally teleported, with all the things surrounding her that was holly grail related, including angelica's card, so she detransformed and enuma elish dissapeared
Kirei's presence in the film deserves 10 points on its own
Best boi
Epitome of "Lose the battle to win the war."
I need to watch that movie. Just you telling how great it is, made me a bit emotional.
You definitely nailed CinemaWins. And I've briefly checked out AnimeWins I think? But yours was superior than AnimeWins. Keep up the good work man, this is probably one of the best animated movies I've seen at least.
