    A good mechanic can always hear the difference between a well maintained engine and a malfunctioning one. And budy, your engine sounds perfect! Well done!

    One of the greatest models I ever seen. Only a gearbox is missing, but i think you have space for this. Amazing.

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      the reason it doesn't have a gearbox is because it has so much power, it would be unnecessary. it also makes it stronger as well. i have geared it down close to the wheels for more torque. thanks

    I've always wondered why most of these engines only rev up to about 2000-2200. Some cases hit about 3000, but still. Is it the lack of power from the air pressure and the extra friction associated with plastic parts?

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  5 років тому +1

      They get to a point where the tubing carrying the air is too restricting and can keep up, other wise they would rev much higher. I am going to try out some larger tubing in the future.

  • @Ten_Kuba

    Your projects are really awesome! I'm already using yours i3 engine in my project.
    Have you ever thought if it's possible to build clutch that can work like real one? I created several prototypes but they were always too complicated or not tough enough

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому +1

      Pneumatic Vehicles do not need a clutch in the same way a real car does, it needs it so it can coast when the engine is slowing down. otherwise the drive train may break when the engine stops.

      Traxxas slash that is almost entirely custom. scx10 II but that's mostly stock since it's such an amazing truck.

    One idea I've been thinking of for a gearbox would essentially be a casette tape, a simple cvt. It'd be non lego, but who cares. Smaller spool on the engine side to start that grows to a larger ratio by the end. Maybe it free-wheels after running out so it doesn't screech to a halt

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      a lot of things can be done with lego, can you explain in more detail how it works? thanks

    • @fryncyaryorvjink2140
      @fryncyaryorvjink2140 6 років тому

      Its pretty simple, you have two spools connected by a ribbon, when you wind one the other unwinds. If you start with one spool empty and the other full its like first gear. As the first spool collects more ribbon it has the effect of increasing the gear ratio (or decreasing, I always say the ratios backwards). Near the end of the ribbon it'd be like top gear without ever having to change gears. But when the ribbon runs out if its physically connected to both spools the engine will stall and the wheels will lock up. It'd be good for a dragster. You can vary the thickness of the ribbon for how quickly you want the ratio to climb

    • @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
      @GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop  6 років тому

      nice idea, but it only has a limited range

    • @fryncyaryorvjink2140
      @fryncyaryorvjink2140 6 років тому
