#1: Eat a protein and fat heavy breakfast. Like omletes and avocado. #2: Take cold showers. #3: Do creative work, not hard work. Hard work doesn't require much thought and can be technical. On the contrary, creative work doesn't have strict rules, is up to you and requires writing, journaling, making goals, planning schedules, and problem solving. It's difficult to do creative work at night because your willpower is at its highest in the morning.
My Routine goes like this: 1. get up immediately when the alarm rings - go in the kitchen drink a big glass of water 2. do some heavy breathing and yoga poses ( and meditation when i feel like it ) 3. cold shower !! ( life changer ) 4. eat a nutritious breakfast ( mostly oatmeal with fruits, seed, nuts etc.) BOOM - you already won the day and all that takes like under an hour, when I got more time I sometimes include reading or playing guitar to get creative.
your solution for upper problem is 1. stop using electronic devices i.e phone, laptop,t.v etc 45 minutes before your sleep time. 2. if you use laptop or computer before sleep download extension FLUX it helps with screen brightness VERY EFFECTIVE. 3. stop thinking of anything before sleep ( meditation for 10 minutes will help). sleep is a process of brain we have to take care of it like baby , so dont just rush to bed and try to sleep have a routine before sleep like brushing teeth, reading ,meditation and dim the lights it will help the same way flux will help you in compueter. hope this will help would you like to sign up using the link i have provided you it will give me bitcoins if someone sign up from that and it would be lovely if you forward the link . thanks for reading!
#3 is key. I take care of things in the morning that are either undesirable and/or most difficult to solve..when I'm fresh, rested, and have a clear mind. Builds momentum for the day.
I've always had SUCH a hard time waking up early and actually staying up instead of just looking at my cellphone screen and slowly dozing off Gonna try the cold shower thing tomorrow, wish me luck
This is literally my morning routine recently & I been feeling amazing ever since. I decided to watch this video out of curiosity and found it crazy how this is my exact schedule haha highly recommended it to others 🙌🏽

Ive been taking a cold shower for thé past week and i gotta say it changed my life! I was starting To think about consulting for my more and more depressed mood, but this really seems To help!
I have been working 1,5 year in corporate company as a graphic designer. It had nothing to do with creative job. 9 to 6PM. I had to track every single minute. It was a design factory. After 1,5 year i was burned out. Yes, desk jobs can be hard sometimes, trust me.
I did the 30 day cold shower challenge a few years back and the benefits cannot go unnoticed but I have a hard time finding the willpower to do them now especially in freezing winter temps
I love the "English Breakfast", which commonly is bacon and eggs with some garlic and onion and some wholegrain-oats porridge. Simple. Quite effectively a "peasant's or farmer's breakfast". But I've seen how long it keeps me going and it's amazing! People seriously look at me in disbelief when I say I can go for 5-6 hours on that before I really need another meal.
1) Have been eating protein rich breakfasts since I was young (I'm 38 now). 2) I've been taking cold showers nearly every morning for the past 2 years. 3) I've been a graphic designer for the past 14 years, so I'm creative nearly every day. I still constantly feel like a loser, with no motivation, especially today. So, can't really say any of this works. Not for ME at least...
maybe you should try on different ways also your mindset about you feeling like a loser doesn’t really help in any case i hope you’ve got that sorted out
Thank you for this nice video,I was on IF as well, but I found that skipping breakfast definitely slow down my productivity,so I change to eat a late lunch than skip the dinner now to keep eating in the 8 hour feed window,I am so happy that the breakfast is back.
nice; nuts are already a staple in my breakfast or diet in general! also, another habit i could recommend are writing morning pages. they improve clarity, creativity, focus... and - most importantly - led me to many key changes in my life and helping me in taking lead of it back again.
My morning habit is running. I go running every say before school. The impact of these 30 minutes in the morning on my life is amazing. I feel so much better throughout the day. But unfortunaly I don't find the time to meditate in the morning or to do creative work :(
I would really appreciate you linking the research to your videos in the description. Not speaking about you pedsoanlly, but I’m tired of the endless opinions online being paraded as fact with no proof. I really appreciate your content, thank you
Improvement pill You have had a video where you talked about fasting and said that it is better to avoid breakfast, I found out that it is really helpful and It allows me to focus more on task. My routine based on your videos look like this: Meditate 15min, Working out for 20min and taking a cold shower. I would like to know if it is better to avoid breakfast or taking that one with high fat and protein in it. Thanks for an answer in advance
On the topic of breakfast there was a point in my life a few years ago where I had to change my lifestyle and what I eat to bring my blood pressure down and during that time I was the most disciplined I've ever been and I realize now after you saying that I had a fruit and yogurt parfait in one whole banana and a cup of coffee every morning for breakfast for like 9 months
I think that the morning meditation is the best to do first, right after waking because during it you can plan the day "load yourself with energy" and think positive.
I disagree about the breakfast thing. I nearly always eat high carb breakfasts, and they stick with me longer. However I tend to stick to oatmeal, sweet potatoes with cinnamon, big fruit smoothies, etc. And when I get hungry later o have a snack. It works great
Many of those UA-cam guys who advocate for cold showers live somewhere like So Cal or Florida, where the "cold" water comes out of the tap at around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I live in Northern Indiana. During the winter, the cold water that comes out of the shower head during the winter months is the 32 degree barely-above freezing water that's in Lake Michigan. It's water that's so cold that you could get an ice cream headache if you drink it too fast. I can last about a minute and a half in a 32 degree water shower before I warm the water up. It's gives a better energy shot in the morning than a Monster energy drink or coffee
I have been watching Hybrid Calisthenics and I had started to taking cold shower as he recommended but eventually got back to warm shower because I felt like I make my life harder intentionally (not only this but also for instance trying to swim through the pool my face buried in water, although I gasp for breath everytime I finish it, or wait for every deadline to get work done or so) but I will try to get back to cold showers again.
I've tried the morning cold showers and while I do wake up, the feeling of rage from some literally reaching down into my soul and tearing out a chunk of it while I'm under the ice-cold sting of water that's at a temperature that could be labeled as simply evil kind of overshadows the feeling of happiness I get from it...
First habit - carbohydrates at breakfast. The higher highs the lower lows, which means the more boost you get from food the bigger crash awaits you soon afterwards. You want a constant flow of energy, no ups and downs roller-coaster.
I have been doing this for maybe 3 weeks and I already have piano and practicing first thing in the morning it stays there while my mind is still pretty greasy plus the cold showers I think that is my creative work because I am trying to do a song ,and of course school I haven’t had to right that much but I feel that it’s easier when it’s in English because it’s my second language and I can express my self my feelings or the characters feelings in a more unique way , thanks for doing this video
Willpower isn't a finite resource. In Improvement Pill's more recent videos, he talks about how willpower can be used throughout the day without being depleted. For example let's say you've said to yourself in the morning that you will work on that side hustle after work. You come back from work and feel exhausted. What do you do? If you take time to unwind, say take a shower and eat, you've changed your mood and now you're more likely to hustle. Further reading "Focused and Diffused Thinking" and "Thinking, fast and slow".
this makes me think of the book atomic habits , although this book was made before the book came out, therefore the idea of cues is really smart and the amount of knowledge about it (especially habit bunching) is really vast!
Creative work contains things you can’t put into a routine. A routine makes you need less willpower to do it. That’s why you do the creative work when you’re willpower is the highest.
I definitely have the most willpower during the night. I’m not even awake during the morning. Does it matter if you’re awake mostly during the morning or evening any more?
I perceived the benefits of eating an high in protein breakfast before watching this video ! happy to hear that my feeling was scientifically right. The problem to me is actually the time to prepare the breakfast that makes me going back bad habits sometimes. Also I would like you to suggest me some more creative activities for The morning :) thanks
Awesome video, but the only thing I disagree with is the diet choice. Processed meat is a type 1 Carcinogen and red meat is a type 2 Carcinogen, also eggs have high amounts of cholesterol and saturated fat, which is linked to heart disease. I recommend checking out a whole foods plant-based diet.
I would like to see an especially diet-related video from you. As a vegetarian, my go-to protein breakfast is scrambled eggs, but of course I can't eat that exact food every day. What would you recommend for a diverse array of protein-heavy breakfasts?

2. take cold shower
3. do creative work

"Do Creative Work"
No wonder I like to do homework in the morning.
Joke aside i did relise that i can write better essays (or have less mistakes in them) in the morning (even if im tired) than at night.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! Been telling people about this and even teaching a group of around 35 students about this!! Love it, keep it up!
If desk jobs, burger jobs, etc. Are "hard work", construction must be "cursed labor"
Can confirm.
I have been working 1,5 year in corporate company as a graphic designer. It had nothing to do with creative job. 9 to 6PM. I had to track every single minute. It was a design factory. After 1,5 year i was burned out. Yes, desk jobs can be hard sometimes, trust me.
These type of videos are amazing because these are things everyone should learn about yet you find it by chance online
Well watching this at 2x speed is hard when English isn’t my primary language, but it makes me focus easier and from that I learn more!!
I did the 30 day cold shower challenge a few years back and the benefits cannot go unnoticed but I have a hard time finding the willpower to do them now especially in freezing winter temps

I agree
if you plan things while meditating, u probably aren't doing it(meditation) right.
Civil Engineer yes, well I don't do that the whole 10 minutes. Only a few seconds at the start or in the end.
if you are doing it only a few seconds you aren't planning the day right ;)
Civil Engineer *rolls his eyes* then nevermind
“For those of you who don’t know what willpower is...” 😂😂😂
How about eating complex carbohydrates that take a long time to digest?
Or you can eat fibrous sources of carbs.
So calorie dense food give you higher will power? I knew eating chips and junk food while doing homework was genius!!
SylenDraws Not funny. Sorry.
nutrient dense foods is the more wiser term
Zobrut yeah, like eggs are nutrient dense but can not be called "healthy".
OMG YES
For me, eggs are super food.
I disagree about the breakfast thing. I nearly always eat high carb breakfasts, and they stick with me longer. However I tend to stick to oatmeal, sweet potatoes with cinnamon, big fruit smoothies, etc. And when I get hungry later o have a snack. It works great
Yeah oatmeal is complex carbs, so they stick longer. He should have made a distinction between simple and complex carbohydrates.
I will try some of this tomorrow morning... mornings are hard.
Listening to this in the gym in the morning 😎
Well, I got up at 8 in the morning and took a cold shower and started studying for 4 hours and now I'm resting and someone praises me
I can't believe how you upload exactly what I need in that time

I know right :/ I never knew if I was doing it the right way or not so I stopped :/
Well Tony Robbins (the guy he talked about) has something like a small hole in his garden which is filled with water (like a very very small pool) with a ladder on one side. He jumps in there and climbs out after a few seconds. As this is outside I guess the water must be really cold most days.
Hope that helped you a little bit. :)
Try it out. I started with 30 seconds of cold water after a lukewarm shower. This really gives you a kick when you get out of the shower, almost like a drug ;)
However now I'm only doing pure cold showers. Just see what you think works best for you
I usually try to have a lukewarm shower, sometimes slightly cold water. Not looking to freeze myself, especially in the winter.
as someone that suffers from an incurable Raynaud's I was wondering how to get around that cold shower issue as well lol
