Thank you for the videos Sorin! After watching you I had the confidence to try and repair a broken MacBook and scored myself one for 50 euro! Now I have a working one
@@TheHalo14austhe fix was very simple - dead battery. Laptop wouldn't charge so I disconnected battery, plugged in charger and laptop turns on. Easy to get a replacement battery for MacBooks too
Working on one of these similar. No 3.3v. no short on coil. The short seems to be between the gate driver and the pos output of ic. Ordered ic. And will play more later.i see a lot of your repairs are a simple current injection to find shorts. I hardly get them..always more difficult hard to find signal issues. One before was no pic, but ended up being flexes fed into lcd glass. I can never win.
Angle of thinking was limited to some technician,as they once swap the faulty with known good component and the result remained the same, they didn't think that the component (battery) faulty
14:34 never saw such fuse before. but base from his explanation. it is "self destruct" fuse. if the BMS circuit (Battery Management system) figured that the battery is in bad health. it will power the heater below it and melt the fuse. This is perfect if it does the job right. specially on EV cars and motorcycles. but in this video, like he said, the BMS made a bad call. coz it has only 86 cycle. The last time I heard such kind of system that feels like a planed obsolescence are on the printer cartridge. it record how much print you do. and if it reach a certain print it stop printing and ask that you change cartridge 🤣🤣🤣🤣
never seen a fuse like that. it feels like something that can be abused for planed obsolescence like how they do on ink cartridge asking you to change if it reach certain number of prints. but I can understand the need for such self destruct fuse on batteries coz lithium batteries are dangerous. specially on EV's I hope they don't apply this shit on Vacuum robots too and the likes.
Yes the same thing applies to vacuum cleaners etc. Dyson is known for that.... setting flag in microcontroller eeprom and after that no charging. Changing the cells makes no difference, still non-working. To re-set it requires jtag programmer. For Dyson it is easier to buy chininse copy battery. For the price of original battery I can buy 4x copies and they last at least as long (4 years). If it fails in 4 years just buy another one for 25-30 bucks vs $100 or more for original.

Nice one! Congratulations.
Awesome, what was the fix for the Macbook?
Wow awesome...what was the fix?

Sorin the master and the surgeon. Amazing.

the most interesting job ive ever done, for reviving dead battery laptop. 👌🏻
bitlocker works according to TPM , when the battery was unplugged that reset the bios till next boot and bitlocker didn't ask for key anymore
that's not how TPM is working, bitlocker didn't ask for password, because disk is paired with machine
If I tried to cut open a battery like that I'd probably short something out with my luck lol.

The battery analyser remains a powerful tool, unfortunately not affordable for small businesses. I get like 1 locked battery in a month. 😂
$449 for unit + $269 for 1 year license, when the batteries are made from cheap poor quality lithium is kind of pointless nowadays
This laptop looks similar to the Lenovo Yoga from the last video😱 It luckely ended up differently😎
Yes, good job, i think you have to charge and discharge any new battery to calibrate at first use, Thanks Sorin!
Just legendary Sorin. Not easy pizza however. 😂
How to find the capacity of the battery after fully discharging n charging
10:58 this gives a mini heart attack.
A shame the battery analyzer is so expensive. Only good for busy repair shops.
shame ? show here other cheaper options
Amazing man.
When you say some battery incompatible with notebook firmware, you mean 3rd party battery? Thank you.
Perfect
is something wrong that cause the fuse burn ???

still condition of the battery is poor, 86 cycles doesn't matter if the battery is made from cheap poor quality lithium
Nice! 😎
wow fixing faulty battery
be carefull you are liable for this repair if something goes wrong at home (fire)
LOL! Please provide actual documented fires caused by laptop battery......
😊😊👍👍
