- Man I am on a ROLL with these remasters lately! They've all just been coming so naturally, I just start making them so suddenly after the inspiration hits. I'm not complaining, since I love reworking my older music, especially the ones that seem to have done very well on my channel!
I went for a more robotic approach with the vocals... to simulate that something isn't quite right within the relationship between Kris and the Soul. Just human enough to pass, but listening closely tells a different story.

The Rythmm is a steady heartbeat. I feel like it fits well. Reminds me of how a prevoius comment on the original pointed out how calm the vocals are. An eerily calm Kris, because Kris CAN'T panic or convey their emotions under the players control. (Most of the time.) All this to say, I really enjoyed this Remaster. Thank you.
I really like the vocals melting together near the end, it starts to sound like organ pipes

It's like the "Toby Fox only has three songs and everything else is just remixes" joke (poking fun at the amount of motifs he reuses) except it's "Evifresh only has three songs and everything else is just remasters". ("I AM NOT MY OWN" is a remastered version of "Morbid Curiosity (remastered version)" except with every lyric and melody removed and replaced by another)
On this topic, however, there is a motif of helplessness(? Control?) between The Girl next door (idk about the remastered version), Beware the man, and this song

I'm loving these remasters. It's surprisingly not common (at least as far as what I've seen) for musical remasters to actually be better than the originals but your ones are great!
You know, without context, this song sounds even more interesting... Like a metaphor for intrusive thoughts.

The quality and vocals are amazing, and the instrumentals are a lot more complex! However, I do wish that they kick in earlier. I think there was also a missed opportunity to expand on the ethereal shift that would normally be at 2:18, which was cut from the original. The part that kicks in at 2:50 definitely makes up for that though! Easily the best part of the song

The robotic and choppy voice makes it so compelling and gives you goosebumps since it's like a soul is trying to reach out to you or trying to break out of it's prison to regain control

exactly how i feel to. I personally think that the soul and kris will both act as both protag and antag as the story goes on. The more heinous you act in the story, the more kris will act more heroic to protect their friends from you while the more good you act will cause kris to work to undermine you, becoming more antagonistic. A push and pull of two opposite forces that fight for control over the other.

The dissonances used in this song just give it this otherworldly feel, the beat makes it feel very intense, and the effects put over the lyrics just make it feel so much more like a back-and-forth argument between Kris and the player...

this is so so good, perfectly captured the calm horror of the original and added extra grooviness and synth(i think that's what it's called. Whatever it is is great.) I truly feel like I'm listening to a dialogue between Kris and the Player. What I also find interesting is that they barely LISTEN to each other, not acknowledging each other's feelings about the situations, talking over each other in that part where they're both singing (WHICH IS SOOOO EXCELLENT) and the only time they have a give-and-take exchange is the threat. Just--great work, great work as usual. I applaud you.

dude this is my favorite song and it FINALLY got remastered (well second favorite, my favorite is cross my heart) ((after listening this for uh..i lost count, i can now officially say that this version is my favorite song))

Great remaster! As soon as I heard it, I could tell there was a different tone to it than the original, but it took rewatching the original video to articulate how it felt different. And having done so, it feels like the differences lead to the idea that each song is from a different perspective.
To elaborate, the original felt like the song is being heard from a “player’s” perspective. Both sides are “human”, because we know that both us and Kris are, well, human. The song really comes off as dialogue between us “players” and Kris, arguing about control on an equal footing, reflected by the artwork. Neither party is happy with the situation, but we as the red soul need a vessel to exist and Kris needs a soul to live. Both sides are unhappy, but as the lyrics reflect, we the players are willing to control Kris and act as a scapegoat should things go wrong in the story. From a player’s perspective, this is a fair deal because we feel like both us and Kris are on more or less equal footing.
And then we get to this remake, which feels as though it’s done from Kris’ perspective. And oh boy, does it show how wrong a player’s perspective of this situation is. To Kris, regardless of how we came to control them, they basically woke up one day with us controlling them, something they’ve never seen before. And this is reflected in the song, from the mechanical tone to the introduction of having lyrics overlapping later in the song. It all lends to the feeling of something otherworldly taking over Kris’ entire life, leaving their head spinning as the lyrics begin to overlap and the music builds. And all the while, this “thing” claims that they hate this situation as much as Kris does, but how could they? They’re the one in control, not Kris. Anything bad the red soul does while controlling Kris will be for Kris to deal with once we’re gone. But at the same time, they can’t help but wonder, “What if this is for the best? What if this thing could live my life better than I have?” After all, comparing Kris’ side of the bedroom to Asriel’s shows how little Kris has done in their life in comparison. Thus, why the song ends with such repetition. Kris contemplating the final part of the conversation, where the red soul calls out their hope, their desire, and offers to make it a reality. A chilling prospect, but one that would most certainly stick in the mind of someone who’s had doubts about their own place in the world.
Or maybe this is just one of your amazing remasters. Who knows? Certainly not me!

Yo I just listened to this the other day and now there's a remastered version? This is awesome! I love your fan songs, especially since they seem to align with like, all my interests (Omori, Deltarune, and Undertale to name the ones I've seen) You always make such good lyrics that align with the characters the songs are about and omg the instrumentals are just amazing! I have one or two of your Omori songs on my music playlist and I might add some of your Deltarune songs on there too! :D
These are some excellent remasters, I feel like the second half of the song carries more weight now that it has a bit substance of its own instead of just being mostly the same as the first half, if that makes sense...
yes that does make sense! that's exactly what I wanted to improve in this song. I thought the original was pretty one note, there wasn't anything else really interesting after the second verse... so I tried to make the bridge and second chorus sound a bit more intense.

OOOOH I love this!!! I still like the old version a lot too, which also makes me happy. Each one has a different quality that I love. I'm not sure which lines are supposed to be the SOUL and which are Kris (unless it's just red = SOUL and white = Kris), but my brain feels like this version is the SOUL singing and the old one is Kris. Which is so cool!!
