- HOW TO GET MAIL AS A TRAVELER ON THE ROAD & ESCAPEES MAIL SERVICE // You’ll learn how to get mail as a traveler, how to get mail on the road and learn about Escapees mail service. I was confused in the beginning to on getting mail on the road and receiving mail on the road. What about packages while traveling or using Amazon locker while full time RVing. There are several ways to set-up a mail forwarding service for digital nomads and full time rv living. If you’re thinking of full time travel, you need to figure out how to get your mail on the road, which can be through a mail forwarding service and using private mail centers. This is how fulltime RVers get mail, through a mail forwarding service, private mail centers, Amazon lockers, and UPS Stores. Getting your mail while traveling is pretty easy.

★ How I Got Started
Hi, I'm Amber and in May 2017 I started this nomadic journey after selling my house and all my belongings to pursue this crazy dream of living out of my RV full-time and traveling all around North America.
After 1 year of traveling, I sold my 26 foot Winnebago Class C RV for a more nimble Class B Hymer Aktiv van. I couldn't have been more excited to continue my second year in a van that allows me to travel to more places and experience more in life.

What you said about fear really inspired me. I'm always afraid to take risks, I do anyway, because I'm strong... but I like the way you put it into a physical perspective that I can use to visualize when the fear feels overwhelming. You are such an inspiration to me!
Nicole Smith Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Amber thanks so much for the info. You explain things very clearly and this is one thing I was agonizing about since no one else I have watched has gone over some of the details you have covered.
Great video! You do a great job explaining the details. You're easy to understand with your laid-back style. Safe travels!
Great video! Tips like this are so helpful. Thanks so much!
That was great information. I wondered about that.
Thx for another great video, Amber. Safe travels, Mo in NJ

Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed George in FL!
Hi Amber ~ I've used the UPS Store for years! I get great service and have registered all my vehicles at the store I 'call home'. One year I went there in person and everyone greeted me and laughed when I said, "I'm Home"! I compared Escapees early on when we were in Texas and they were really great also but we were already registered with the UPS Store. Thanks for another excellent learning video.
Thank you very much this help me i am going time 7/2020 be safe bless you
James Catanese 😀
General Delivery historically has been limited to the main post office in a given city. It dates back to the days when the US was far more rural.
ie, Amber Lastname, General Delivery, Cleveland, Ohio (no zip code required- they came later) is an actual, reliable address at one single place that would have worked a century ago and would still work today. If you were homeless in the Great Depression it would have been your only option.
You’d assume it was pointless bureaucracy these days, but back in the day the homeless needed an option. If every post office accepted General Delivery, they would have no idea where their mail actually was. (And it still might be useful to you today to know you can send stuff for free receipt to a private, secure address in literally any American town -- without zip code, without checking in advance- yet be 100% sure it’ll go to one place, where they’ll definitely take it and save it for you.)
I actually think it’s completely awesome that everyone already has a free, trustworthy mail drop in every US city, ready for them without doing anything, even if they’ve never heard of it.
Also, I think it’s federal law keeping UPS stores from accepting us mail. If the postmaster in their local zip code is a stickler (apparently many are, like librarians), he/she can put a world of hurt on a mailbox service.
So they’re not necessarily screwing with you- they might be scared of being put out of business.
Excellent information , your very good at this Job , i do have a question not sure if its been asked . How do u find the insurance for yr van beings u live init thank you ?
Great! Great! Great video! I'm still in my "sticks and bricks" and 99.999% paperless and _STILL_ get snail mail. Most of that is junk mail. Does the mail forwarding service separate the junk from the real (or at least real-looking) mail so that one is not paying to ship a ton of junk mail? (Also please do do a video on health insurance as you implied you might. I had no idea that any state offered "nationwide" health insurance plans since that is always handled and regulated at the state level with only very limited emergency coverage outside of one's "home" address).
👍❤
Amber, overall, are you making some money while on the road or mostly using your savings? I am curious if you can survive this lifestyle for some time or one day you will have to go back to a house, getting a regular 9-5 job, etc.
******???????Which mail forwarding service do you highly recommended? I’ll be traveling around the world with NO home base. *******??????? I really appreciate and NEED an answer so thank you. Hugs, Deb
Deborah Schaub 😊 I just put this together and should help you: www.storychasing.com/rv-living-for-beginners/
