Agreed. The recoil is literally the only reason I dont rock The Finals more than I do, it's just not fun to fight recoil more than other players half the time.
fcar just has no identity now. at this point i only take it when i'm not hitting my shots and want a better sight picture, but i also know im putting myself at a ttk and recoil disadvantage compared to akm. and now that sights are being added to most guns, i got NO reason to run it. rip fcar
@@pleksypoo3252 For light and heavy yes, but .03 seconds is not enough of a significant difference to outweigh the negative of more bullets. Especially now with AKM having a scope and a recoil pattern similar in difficulty, its going to make it very hard for people to pick the FCAR over it. Unless the recoil is reverted back or lessened, the gun will not be able to retain it's identity as a precision auto rifle.
I havent played this game since season 1. Ooff. I immediately noticed the LMG changes. They're not as wonky and the M60 in particular, you can really feel its recoil slowing down the longer you shoot it. It wants you to hold the trigger Personally, I wish they'd just ditch the current recoil system and use something more simple. Something like what Battlefield does.
The fact the famas still has the janky horizontal jumps is extremely disappointing, but with the new pike I never have to bother with it again. So I suppose it evens out.

But completely ruining that smooth buttery feel it had that made me fall in love with the gun play of this game is now completely gone and it’s so sad. I'd wager Embark is going to keep tinkering with stuff as the season progresses. They must have extensive usage statistics for weapons and equipment. If no one is using a certain weapon they will buff it... right? FCAR definitely needs something as do the heavy automatics. M11 with a red dot(?) will be a menace. Seems like they took 4 bullets from AKM's magazine which is probably a good move.
We still don't know the full changes to the AKM and other ARs but why tf did AKM get its mag nerfed? It was never the best AR until the other ones got obliterated... And FCAR didn't get changed at all either? Very sad
Ive heard other content creators say they arent patching all the changes until thursday and the preview build was not the final build for season 4 - hopefully! I would like some more weapon balancing as well. Either way im just happy to get another season. They will continue to patch as the season goes on

love the double deag for heavies but i was hoping for a new lmg or a more forgiving lewis gun and hcar recoil cause why use the hcar when AKM has 36 rounds which puts out more DPS especially when switching out to different targets but nevertheless love this game and hyped for this season looks awesome
I am not quite sure yet, but what I do know is the bullet spread is slightly wider than the 1887. Making it increasingly less effective at distance. However it’s a heavy shredder at medium range.

Did you see if they tweaked hipfire recoil too? What about squatting hipfire? Are any of these affected by changing sight attachments? Im hoping so, because personally the attachment change kind of takes away from that Halo/Arcade Shooter feel; I liked guns having their set attachments/sights and to add them as an option without even giving changes in tradeoffs for it is just removing a layer of interactivity. Like, before, you went the FCAR because it has good hipfire and even tho it didnt have great recoil for aiming, it had a sight with good damage falloff. Now? Who cares about the damage falloff for the AKM, you got a bigger mag and now an optic on top of that nonexistent recoil to help empty into the opponent! Make the current FCAR recoil pattern for when its aiming iron sights but with a tight squat hipfire. Cut a third off of recoil pattern when aiming optics attached, but increase aim/shouldering time and make standing hipfire more accurate than squatting hipfire, with squatting hipfire with optics having a recoil like the current aiming one is. That way you have to earn the distance advantage from the damage falloff on the FCAR when not using optics, but you get the accuracy its known for with your squatting hipfire; Meanwhile, you have a beamer with optics but have to stand and hipfire if you want to engage at close range; Squatting or squat spamming causes kickback. Idk i just had caffeine lol
100%, we are not asking to remove it completely just to lessen or revert it. So the FCAR can standout and maintain its uniqueness as a precision AR, rather than a less effective scoped AKM.
I always hear people complain about the fcar but idk, I don’t see any problem with it at all. I play on controller and don’t have a problem with recoil🤷♀️

Yes and if you remove the scope it shreds everything in site. It will be meta, I don't have a single doubt about it. I'm still comparing damage numbers with some weapon, M11 included, so I will let you know if I find out anything!
@@Acogss The scope sways a ton off center when you strafe, so you have to literally stand still to shoot it. When it is removed, it is just accurate with barely any reticle sway.

I actually disagree in how they should balance weapons. I really think that the game has a lot of potential to be like fighting games in that it's more about what you specialise in rather than if you're following the meta. Lowering the damage on everything just makes the game a non-stop uphill battle of balancing and forcing players to work harder to use something will make them concentrate on using one specific weapon more and the meta will eventually just concentrate more on what you like
This game is literally an arena shooter. It makes no sense for the guns to have that crazy of a recoil pattern. Guns like the FCAR and M11 have literally retarded patterns lol. Arena shooters are meant to have easy to use weapons while having high ttk to actually reward good aim whereas tactical shooters require recoil because ttk is so low.
Shit is still ass they have to make the range longer and the damage stronger on the rifles. High ELO games are still going to be shotgun dominated guaranteed. We have go back to the season 1 fcar and AK.
Preach brother, those are exactly my thoughts. Once you go against a competent medium with an 1887 in high elo, you start seeing things a lot differently.
i don't know if this is a me thing, but i find strong recoil easier to control than weak recoil and it baffles me that people find recoil difficult (please enlighten me TwT)
I think you’re over analysing some of these. Even in ADS the guns have a tiny amount of dispersion per shot, so the pattern is never perfectly the same each full uncontrolled burst. You can see that if you just do the same gun over and over in S3. The AKM and FCAR aren’t changed, you’re just seeing that variance.
It needs to be reverted or lessened. There’s a multitude of variables to think about simultaneously in this game and excessive recoil should not be one of them.
Recoil is not bad in this game. The issue stems from the fact that the bullets come out of the center of your screen while the weapon sight have movement induced sway, so you’re reticle might be slightly to the side of center but the bullet still comes out of the center, not where your reticle is

Fcar really needed a recoil change. If they just got rid of the jump like recoil on bullets 4-6 it would actually be worth using for more players.

That's a skill issue. Most people don't have that problem. It jumps like that when you fire past it's ideal RPM. Shoot slower, garbage rando.

They took 4 bullets from AKM mag. It's now 32 or at least it was during this preview event.
Does the AKM has different recoil?
It feels and looks the same, but I will say it is a lot more manageable with a scope. Also the FAMAS absolutely shreds with a scope.

You should also have mentioned that the sniper is now a projectile weapon instead of hit scan, That includes bullet travel and bullet drop past 50m.

It’s still a very good weapon, but it will have a very tough time competing against the Scoped FAMAS, scoped AKM, and DMR.
