That being said the both movies are great but the Jean Grey from the Last Stand is not even close to the Phoenix we kno from the HQ's.
I love this scene. The way Fanken Janssen switch from Dark Phoenix to Jean Grey before she died it is perfect. This is one of the best death scenes ever.
they really missed opportunity with the phoenix fire. that being said, I love how she isn't flailing her hands around as if mental powers take body motions. she just focuses.
Say what you want about Last Stand, I think it nailed the “Dark Phoenix has near limitless potential” aspect of her powers. I mean here she’s basically making Hell-On-Earth with everything going insane. And I did like the bait-and-Switch at the end for comic readers. For context, in the comics Logan did actually have a clear shot at her at one point and had every intention of doing it but he hesitated when Jean’s “real” personality came through and begged him to kill her. In the second it took for Wolverine to register that it was Jean he was about to kill Dark Phoenix took control again and threw him away like he was nothing. Here, he actually goes through with it.
Actually no, the one in the Dark Phoenix got more right the all powerfull Phoenix, but Famke Jansen got right the character, it's very emotional and dark at the same time you really fear what is behind those dark abyssal eyes of her, while Sophie Turner / Jean it's not even close as scary neither relatable despite be way more powerful than the Dark Phoenix of Last Stand.
I was always bugged by the fact that they must've been having the battle for HOURS as it was daylight when Magneto moved the bridge...and all the cars somehow turned their lights on as if the owners just stayed in their cars watching it all?
For me the X-Men started all this super hero trip since it came out , and Jean Gray "Phoenix" was , is the most Powerfull Superhero that ever existed . She has ALL powers including mind control , telekenisis , invisibility and much more , ...not only can she turn anything to dust , but she can Destroy Planets ...in this very emotional scene , she lets wolverine get to her , trust me , if she wanted wolverine would be a memory in history ...and EVERY superhero who ever existed too . The three first X-Men are still my favorite all time superhero movies because the casting and character developpment has deeped and amazing personalities , those mutants were very charismatic misfits .
This is the rawest scene I've ever witnessed in my whole life. Its one of the many great things about this film and what saved it. Truly stunning cinematography

Conrad Schmidt I thought this movie lacked (in expression of) Jeans power. I was completely shocked when they left out the key component of the Phoenix; it's flames. I still like watching the movie though.
And you think this one is the right Phoenix? Omg have you ever read the comic books? The phoenix is not some Jean Grey on steroids turning people to dust, Phoenix is the embodiment of life and destruction, with cosmic flames and stuff, x-men: Dark Phoenix was the closest to get Phoenix right from the HQ's theres no question about that, not even once we saw flames coming out of Fawke it was just Jean with her power turn up to 1.000%
This is still an impressive sequence Fulfills the thrill of being in theaters If you have a big sound system it’s a dream come true This is more of a symbolic Phoenix which I know did upset fans But this was the direction in these movies Jean was worried she would go down when she was explaining to Scott Logan is one of the most tragic characters, a Rose with too many thorns Losing everyone close to him This was the only way to stop her from destroying everything Plus the way Jean pleads from “kill me” from the beginning of the film to “save me” making the ultimate sacrifice
In Dark Phoenix professor x locks up Phoenix's powers and in The Last stand she unlocks those powers. It's all technically still in the same timeline dude
Spider-Man but in the last stand she get stabbed, then she become alive again? because she died 2 times in xmen last stand and dark phoenix, i need a explanation
@@antirevatrewatha60 well we know that dark Phoenix is a prequel along with days of future past where Xavier resets the timeline so he would still be alive rather than dying in the last stand. That's how hes in Logan. Maybe this is somehow connected to that idk either due your right it doesn't all make sense
antirevatrewatha last stand turned out to be at 2005 and dark Phoenix is 1992 and when we saw her in days of future past ending proved that she didnt die in dark Phoenix cuz Phoenix force protected her from death
antirevatrewatha She didn’t die in Dark Phoenix (2019). She just went to space for a while to learn how to control her powers. Also, X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) takes place in a timeline that was negated in the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), when the X-Men sent Wolverine’s mind back in time to 1973 to stop the creation of the Sentinels. Dark Phoenix (2019) takes place in 1992 of that new timeline. So Jean didn’t die twice, the original version of her died while the alternate version didn’t die at all.
This scene is one of the most powerful moments in superhero cinema. It's so dramatic, tragic and intense yet subtle in the sense that it's a battle between Wolverine, Jean Grey and Dark Phoenix. The fantastic score, firebird allusion with the scenery and lighting, and Jean gradually restraining her powers as Logan approaches her is great stuff. It boggles my mind that some people don't realize Jean had all the power in the world to easily kill/stop Logan but she didn't. Reminds me of the saga's last lines, "Jean Grey could have lived to become a god. But it was more important to her that she die a human."

RallyDriversFury Only Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse. Actually, scratch that, Apocalypse was fun.
@@pedrolemes9054 agreed
Can we commend the score selection here, as he ascends to her? Completely fitting and haunting.
The most emotional scene at that time, how many times i watch, wolverine's sadness is just hitting hard
The music so iconic!
I love this scene. The way Fanken Janssen switch from Dark Phoenix to Jean Grey before she died it is perfect. This is one of the best death scenes ever.
1:08-1:17 me too
This was my Multiverse of Madness
There is some really amazing moments in this film that are unfortunately overshadowed by the many bad moments.
I'm with you bro, this film is a mixed bag for me as well.
they really missed opportunity with the phoenix fire. that being said, I love how she isn't flailing her hands around as if mental powers take body motions. she just focuses.
I know it was all through the power of
stares
Yeah Like Scarlet Witch be doing in the MCU
0:50 when you smell your classmate's breath
Actually no, the one in the Dark Phoenix got more right the all powerfull Phoenix, but Famke Jansen got right the character, it's very emotional and dark at the same time you really fear what is behind those dark abyssal eyes of her, while Sophie Turner / Jean it's not even close as scary neither relatable despite be way more powerful than the Dark Phoenix of Last Stand.
never in my life have i seen wolvie look so emotional.
This is not the best X-Men Movie. But I love it.
This scene breaks my heart Every single time 💔💔💔 I feel his pain! Love Wolverine and his loyalty to her😭
I was always bugged by the fact that they must've been having the battle for HOURS as it was daylight when Magneto moved the bridge...and all the cars somehow turned their lights on as if the owners just stayed in their cars watching it all?
Cyclops, proffesor x and jean grey died in x men 3 ❌😭😭😭💓
1:21 me too
Who’s here after Dark Phoenix? 🤔
I didn't even watch it I just saw reviews
This movie is X2 compared that trash
@@Evan-yq5td Living for that comment 👌
@@sabresergal8989 the movie was really good..
@@sabresergal8989 nah. I like dark phoenix better
This moment when Jean closes eyes, so sad..so emotional.
Even though she is evil, I LOVE THE PHOENIX AND HER POWERS!!! Famke is an amazing actress.
I like how jean kinda smiled when logan stabbed her knowing he truly did the best thing for her
1:26 me too.
She smiles just before she dies that's fucking heartbreaking damn I love x men
THIS IS THE BEST SCENE IN THE HISTORY OF THIS ENTIRE PLANET. NOTHING TOUCHES THIS IN ANY MOVIE EVER CREATED.
Truly the greatest x men masterpiece of our time.
Screw the critics. This ending actually had me in my feelings.
This is the rawest scene I've ever witnessed in my whole life. Its one of the many great things about this film and what saved it. Truly stunning cinematography
At 1:26 when she dies subtly smiling is so great, Famke is iconically Jean Grey for me
This scene is 100x times better than The Dark Phoenix!
Anyone agree with me?!
Tinggal daerah mana mas???😁
@@nfaalatlh duh gan, ane sengaja komen begitu, sarkas yg berbanding lurus dengan dark phoenix yang B aja, masa gitu aja perlu nanya ane tinggal di mana? Haha
@@ilhamhadipermadi2535 Hanya menyapa gak boleh mas😁.
Here I am, I respectfully agree
Nop! Because Jean Grey with the Phoenix can't die is impossible. This scene is totally wrong.
This may have been the worst X-Men movie in the series, but this clip is so powerful and I love it.
+Mckenzie Jayde No I think the first one was the weakest. This one was actually pretty good :)
Conrad Schmidt
I thought this movie lacked (in expression of) Jeans power. I was completely shocked when they left out the key component of the Phoenix; it's flames. I still like watching the movie though.
+Conrad Schmidt Hey, it's her opinion. You can't say no to ones opinion.
+ChrisInTheBox I didn't say no to her opinion. I just said my opinion.
+Mckenzie Jayde nah the one with ryan reynolds sucked lmao
Wolverine: Mr. Stark, I do not feel so good...
💀💀💀
Jan Hemmer more like "mr. Stark I don't feel so good. Oh wait now I'm fine. Oh crap now I'm disintegrating again. Why won't I disintegrate?"
I know his healing factor is super strong but the Jean inside just wouldn't let the Phoenix vaporize him.
If that were true, she would’ve stopped Phoenix from vaporizing Scott. He was the love of her life.
The absolute GRIP this movie had on me when i was 13 😂 😂😂
"I love you." 😢
So sorry for her. And for Scott, too. This makes me cry!
1:48 me too
X3 may not have been a all around great sequel, but this scene is excellent.
Dark Phoenix 2019 makes this movie look like a masterpiece
Nah 2019 version is SO much better
Most heartbreaking scene of my childhood
1:45 me too.
Wolverine: hey Hulk, could you lend me your pants for a little job I have to do with jean???
Hulk: !!!SURE!!! 😂😂😂💪💪💪
You can hate these movies but you can’t deny Hugh Jackman nails the character of Wolverine
This is way better than dark phoenix and x men apocalypse
Wolverine: *keeps healing despite having flesh peeled off*
Conservation of mass: am i a joke to you?
This movie was a better adaptation of the Phoenix Saga and had a better conclusion than Dark Phoenix. They messed up horribly.
A live action adaptation still has yet to get the Pheonix storyline correct. Probably never will, best to stick with the comics or the x-men cartoon.
@@chrisprusinowski5287
X men comics and cartoons are far better than its movies
And you think this one is the right Phoenix? Omg have you ever read the comic books? The phoenix is not some Jean Grey on steroids turning people to dust, Phoenix is the embodiment of life and destruction, with cosmic flames and stuff, x-men: Dark Phoenix was the closest to get Phoenix right from the HQ's theres no question about that, not even once we saw flames coming out of Fawke it was just Jean with her power turn up to 1.000%
Neither film did justice to Dark Phoenix. I just said this was the better movie.
@@pedrolemes9054 Out of the two movies that tried to do the Dark Phoenix, The Last Stand is the one with better acting.
Still bring tears
I love how, if you pause at 0.40, you can see his adamantium ribcage.
This is still an impressive sequence
Fulfills the thrill of being in theaters
If you have a big sound system it’s a dream come true
This is more of a symbolic Phoenix which I know did upset fans
But this was the direction in these movies Jean was worried she would go down when she was explaining to Scott
Logan is one of the most tragic characters, a Rose with too many thorns
Losing everyone close to him
This was the only way to stop her from destroying everything
Plus the way Jean pleads from “kill me” from the beginning of the film to “save me” making the ultimate sacrifice
Timeline A:Get stabbed
Timeline B:Goes to space and transform into a fire god
But it was more important to her that she die a human."
so much better than the new one, hands down
Nah hands back up. The new one is sooo much better
powerful scene. killing someone you Love, how painful that most be. I´m glad hugh did his best to portrait that moment is beautifully painful
