Brilliant music video. Page One is a fantastic album. I listen to to it over and over. Very catchy melodies and witty lyrics. Page's humour comes through. He was the heart and soul of BNL. This album proves it. I bet BNL wishes this material was theirs.
@@dane6730 Just bask in it, friend, and enjoy! His newer albums are fantastic, and he's touring the newest one in Canada, and then the States right now..
Page, I'm glad you're getting yourself sorted out and getting back on to the most addictive substance: Music. But I'm a huge fan of BNL, you guys were amazing together. You all fed on each others creativity. Please give it another go :(
I think this song is proof that sometimes you need to listen to a song several times. I was not a fan at first, the more I'm hearing it the more I like it.
I think BNL was kind of a balancing act for a long time, with Page putting forth more poetic, experimental, different stuff, and Robertson putting up more mainstream, easily listenable stuff. It's a matter of uniqueness vs. success. And as we've seen, one really can't be successful without the other. The last BNL album freaking blew, and while Page's stuff is great (as always), look at the number of views on his releases. The true BNL is on the road to reconciliation. It's about damn time.
Yup same. Although the Barenaked ladies have some great catchy songs it was Steven's voice that really stands out and makes me like the band. Since he left the songs do not have the same vocal depth
@jagg1951 Um...have you seen them live? They're the same funny guys, playing their songs the same way. Their last album may have had a different tone to it, but that does not change who they are. They're still the BNL. It's not like all but 1 person left. The BNL is Ed, Tyler, Kevin, and JIm. Same people. Ed still sings. Steve sang a lot, and he sang well. But the rest are more than capable of carrying on. It's no coincidence that their 2 biggest albums in the US saw Ed sing more than ever.
If it were 'BNL post Page's departure vs. Steven Page solo' the clear obvious winner would be Steven himself... BNL is crap without him. Literally. Not even being harsh.. Page and Ed together IS BNL...
@jagg1951 I agree with you, I think if a band keeps a name after splitting it gives a certain amount of expectation to fans. BNL did okay with it though.
@jagg1951 You kind of ignored half of my comment. I said it looks like he's taking himself too seriously. And I think while Steven is a bit more the front man, especially in the early days, Ed wrote and sung a lot of the good songs as well, so it's probably 50/50. It's a good song though, no doubt about it. Getting the album now to listen to at work.
OK guys, STEVE IS GONE. HE'S NEVER COMING BACK. Both the BNL (yes, they are still the BNL, one singer leaving does not take away all of a band's identity) and Steve are going their own ways. Time to move on.
A great, great song.
Well, I really really liked this. I just wish I had known about it 7 years ago.
Steven should be really pushing this channel. I wasn't even aware of this video...amazing vibe!

His lyricism is a whole other level, the iconic voice. A true musician 👍
Tremendous album. Only just discovered it, but IMHO the best record Mr Page has been involved with.
Agreed, why aren’t there more of his music on his channel
@@dane6730 Go to the proper Steven Page channel not associated with the VEVO, there's more there. =D
Rebel Timelady help me! I have looked

Rebel Timelady agreed! He is a fantastic song writer! The heart and soul of BNL
Wow, it was so...BARENAKED!!!!
I wish everyone would stop mentioning BNL, they are still a great band now and Steven is a great singer-songwriter... Keep up the good work!
+mpc1209 i wouldn't say great band
great suit

Brilliant song and video!!!❤️
I really like this song. Well done.
0:28 1:07 That's Community for me. I used to play it at elementary school too. #sixseasonsandamovie

poor replay button...:D
Enough to release a record or two
I thought I was a BNL fan turns out I am a steven page fan

Steve Page is COOL 8) :P lol GREAT SONG :)
Personally I think this song is as sublime and original as the BNL material (which I also love, both pre and post Mr Page).

hey Steve. you broke my heart

If you want an example of this, listen to Maroon and Stunt, and tell me you can't just as easily name them "Steve's Album" and "Ed's Album".
I like his dancing in "Enid" better.

how much better would this be if this was a Barenaked Ladies song/video

This would be a great BNL song :(
No, BNL isn't the same without him
Feels like he's taking himself too seriously. In his silly suit.
This song is great, shame about the video tbh
Never a big Fan of BNL.....Will they Re-unite? Very Certain...Is like a Body that needs a head.... but ...ok?....They Are Not Rush.
Meh...
