Fun fact: you can still see the craters from some of the Tallboy bombs that missed the ship and landed in the shallows on the south coast of Håkøya, one of them landed a few meters further inland and has now become a small lake. The craters are visible on Google Earth.

Great episode as always. However, there is one fact you got wrong; Tirpitz and her sister-ship, Bismarck, were armed with 15" rifles not 16". Keep up the good work. Cheers! 🇺🇸
Due to inter-service rivalry, the Navy claimed that the Tirpitz was not sunk, as her hull was above the water. The water being too shallow to allow the ship to sink beneath the waves
All I’m gonna say is I’m proud of what you made with animations and you should be proud as well because i think you have the best animations in the world, I hope you get 400k soon, you deserve it.
Metric, Metric pls! 94,8% of the World population only uses Metric system! 4,27% (two countries) uses only "Freedom units". But still a very good animation and narration video!
Well, the attack was carried out by 50% of the countries that used 'Freedom units' .... Also, if the majority would be the main consideration, this vid would be in Chinese....
@Todd Starbuck For your own sake , pls, don't leave the USA! Because the lack of adaptation and thinking other way would only leave you stranded on the airport's arrival side in any other country of the World.
It just shows how even tho tirpitz never sunk a ship she was still considered a bigger threat then most active warships at the time just by being there
6:50 that part remembered me about tirpitz quote in azur lane that says: strategic reasons huh? I was equipped with gun that they will never fired ironic
5:16 a small correction, Tirpitz never carried 16 inch guns and if she did that wouldn't be a secondary battery like in the video, but the main gun. She had 8 15 inch guns for the main battery. And I wish she didn't turn upside down in 3 seconds in the animation, I believe slowly turning more and more for a few minutes would do it better, but otherwise great work as always!
Yarnhub animations are made to be quick, informative and eye catching, they aren't able to make the animations run slower while maintaining the 3 things they focus on.
@@mynose4540 they don't need to extend it. From the moment the bomb explodes in the animation to the 3 second absurd 180 degree turn there are one and a half minutes of the ship standing in the same angle. From the listing it's like ~45 seconds, taking advantage of those could be enough even.
I took a visit to Tromso last year and took a cruise not far from where the Tirpitz was sunk. Our guide had shrapnel from the Tirpitz that had hit his grandparents kitchen. Tromso is such a wonderful place, its hard to imagine such a battle taking place there.
The fact that the tirpitz was sunk without ever sinking a single enemy ship is a huge lesson in overpreparation and underperformance; better to fly badly than to fall well.
Hell yeah! Not an upload missed! Also, this upload must’ve missed a day, since here in the Phil, Yarnhub usually premiere ever 7PM on a Wednesday, but, I always expect a good one, nonetheless! And they did! They’ve gone better! And that’s saying much since I came from the “Messerschmitt spared a BF-109” video nearly a year ago! You guys have grown so much!
One of my favourite parts of these vids is trying to find all the Easter Eggs 😅 great job guys, the quality of these productions just keeps getting better and better!
Bismarck did not get bombed. Torpedoes work differently, and are smaller. And the difference between a Lancaster and a Swordfish is quite large as well.
At the site of its sinking, a piece of its armor still stands as a memorial. And on the shipyard where Bismarck was made, a piece also remains, maybe one section made surplus? So bits do remain.

All I’m gonna say is I’m proud of what you made with animations and you should be proud as well because i think you have the best animations in the world, I hope you get 400k soon, you deserve it.
Thank you
the boys on the ground: did u destroy it?
the airmen: yes yes, now get my tea, it ran out on the way home
Tea time is all the time, even during wartime
1:05 show this to a random person, they'll think its real. AMAZING AND OUTSTANDING ANIMATION, again!
How come everybody in the world doesn’t watch this channel is the best thing in the entire world
Metric, Metric pls!
94,8% of the World population only uses Metric system!
4,27% (two countries) uses only "Freedom units".
But still a very good animation and narration video!
The narrator gave metric units for the Tallboys, and freedom units helped win the war.
-Sincerely, a proud resident of Freedom Land
Well, the attack was carried out by 50% of the countries that used 'Freedom units' .... Also, if the majority would be the main consideration, this vid would be in Chinese....
At the time, the British were still entirely using Imperial measurements.
@Todd Starbuck For your own sake , pls, don't leave the USA!
Because the lack of adaptation and thinking other way would only leave you stranded on the airport's arrival side in any other country of the World.
As a result of earlier attacks the Tirpitz, the Tirpitz was already unable to move! Great place to visit and the small, shoreside museum.
Ah yes, the good ol’ Tirpitz vs. Tallboy. Cant wait for this video, looking forward to it!
I saw a tall boy last year in a museum, you really don’t realise how big they are until you see one
It was great Yarnhub! You never fail to Impress everyone by your talent!
2 yarnhub vids in one week? Jesus i'm in heaven
Your animation got so much better I wouldn’t be surprised if you could make a video game
The animations are even more impressive then just a year ago well done Yarnhub well done!
It just shows how even tho tirpitz never sunk a ship she was still considered a bigger threat then most active warships at the time just by being there
For me Friday is just not the end of a workweek, is the introduction of a new Yarnhub masterpiece.
6:50 that part remembered me about tirpitz quote in azur lane that says: strategic reasons huh? I was equipped with gun that they will never fired ironic
I see you're a commander of culture as well
@@Grim_Yeeter 🗿🙃
So azur lane never knew about Svalbard?
5:16
"with a massive yellow flash another obliterates a 16 inch gun turret"
>tfw your secondary guns are a higher caliber than your 15 inch main guns
Me too man like wtf the secondaries are like 5 inch
It was 6 inch bdw
My grandfather was born 1 day before the raid on Tirpitz. Thank GOD he's still healthy and alive😍😍🙏🙏
The video is a few miniutes I don’t think they have enough things to say while it’s going down it would be boring if they extended it
Yarnhub animations are made to be quick, informative and eye catching, they aren't able to make the animations run slower while maintaining the 3 things they focus on.
@@mynose4540 they don't need to extend it. From the moment the bomb explodes in the animation to the 3 second absurd 180 degree turn there are one and a half minutes of the ship standing in the same angle. From the listing it's like ~45 seconds, taking advantage of those could be enough even.
Tirpitz: Exists
RAF: "And I took that personally"
So I’m supposed to be asleep when this gets uploaded but do you think imma be sleeping through a yarnhub upload
It going to be exactly midnight when it's ready lol.
@@ju-yuanchueh8444 it’s gonna be 15 minutes past midnight for me
Yeah actually only tried to calculate hours didn't see that
I took a visit to Tromso last year and took a cruise not far from where the Tirpitz was sunk. Our guide had shrapnel from the Tirpitz that had hit his grandparents kitchen. Tromso is such a wonderful place, its hard to imagine such a battle taking place there.
Churchill: No other target is comparable to this ship.
Me: Yamato is comparable
Laughs in US Air superiority
Like the Americans didnt know they sunk Musashi who's yamato sister. And just call it a day of sinking IjN ships
@@issacfoster1113 thanks buddy bcuz I forgot about the Musashi
Tbh 5-star Hotel (Yamato) and Sushi (Musashi) are a joke
The fact that the tirpitz was sunk without ever sinking a single enemy ship is a huge lesson in overpreparation and underperformance; better to fly badly than to fall well.
Hell yeah! Not an upload missed!
Also, this upload must’ve missed a day, since here in the Phil, Yarnhub usually premiere ever 7PM on a Wednesday, but, I always expect a good one, nonetheless!
And they did! They’ve gone better! And that’s saying much since I came from the “Messerschmitt spared a BF-109” video nearly a year ago! You guys have grown so much!
It's official! I'm a Yarnie for life!! Yarnhub, amazing as always. Absolutely the best youtube channel!
you guys are better than every other channel ive watched keep up the good work!!!
Ive learned more about history in your videos than ive learned in all my school years
Boy, the Tirpitz has been bullied by lots of things
It was doomed the minute it launched...
I absolutely love this channel. The content is amazing, and the way the stories are told catch you and hold you in. Great job!
Ah, yes, the vertically impressive male.
In Oslo the steel plates of Tirpitz are used as temporary walkovers when there are street maintenance. I've walked over them many times.
I've never heard the word "gaggle" used to describe a group of airplanes before.
I even forgot "gaggle" was a real word
@@winter1353 It's the collective term for geese, which are also big heavy birds - so kind of appropriate - sounds good, ^oo^
One of my favourite parts of these vids is trying to find all the Easter Eggs 😅 great job guys, the quality of these productions just keeps getting better and better!
Legit thought this was Bismarck on the community post but then there's an island on the background
well, both ships were bismarck class
Bismarck did not get bombed. Torpedoes work differently, and are smaller. And the difference between a Lancaster and a Swordfish is quite large as well.
Every video the graphics improve, and you upload once a week! Good job!
You should make a movie about all the time the raf attacked the tirpitz
Wow, that was a historical mission, great navigational skills and planning. Good video
Day 3 of asking yarnhub to make a video about the best allied tank ace, dmitry lavirenko
why not Aimo Allan Koivunen, not a tank ace but a great story
Thanks for high quality animation and research on the topic
German pilots: ATTACKK
The bombing squadron: laughs in tea sipping noises*
Turpitz: AAAHH
Tall boy: Y R U RUNNING! Y R U RUNNING!
Tho I'm a German Fan I Really wish Tirpitz and bismarck was here in a museum
At the site of its sinking, a piece of its armor still stands as a memorial. And on the shipyard where Bismarck was made, a piece also remains, maybe one section made surplus? So bits do remain.
These animations get better and better! I love the lancaster takeoff scene!
5:25 Thats impressive
PARKOUR!
