Very nice review. Been thinking about this model ever since Scotty Kilmer listed it as one of his top 5 used cars that you can buy. The others were Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry. That”s pretty good company.
Yeah it's been a nice car so far. One thing I would say is consider the V6 because that comes with the Toyota 6 speed auto, and the 4 cylinder has a Ford 6 speed, and I'd imagine you'd get better life out of the Toyota one.
I had a 2011 Mercury Milan. When I first test drove the car and it was a bigger car towards a 2005 Ford Focus. It was very easy to drive, too. When I got the Milan it had lowest miles compared to the 5 Fusions they had. It was a very good car to drive. It got totaled when I hit a deer in December of 2016. I do missed that car sometimes. Right now I drive a 2015 Ford Escape. I’m used to the BT and even the satellite radio.
I have a black 2011 SE This is the best car I've ever bought. I bought it for 900$ 86,000mi and had it for 3 years and I haven't had to change anything major just breaks, a belt that a rock popped in, reg. Oil changes, normal maintenance and a couple light bulbs and now about to get a tune up.. I've traveled to 3 states and traveled statewide. Hands down best ever. This car is perfect, I just wish it was a standard shift not automatic but it's still my baby ❤ I love it
@toshiba20101000 oh believe me, if I could have found a nice last model year Milan, that would've absolutely been chosen over the Fusion. My dad had an '08 which is my absolute favorite design compared to the Fusion and MKZ. For whatever reason, Mercury just never sold, and I wish it did because I always preferred them over the Ford.
@@filipetavares3413 Still have the car, bought it at 32,000 miles in 2018 and it is now at almost 60,000 miles, and all I've had to do are normal maintenance stuff: brakes and oil changes. Only out of the ordinary stuff was a belt issue, and the CV boot, but other than that, I believe the power steering and throttle body issues were recalled years ago, and I believe I have an extended warranty for the power steering and throttle body, but I've had no issues with them.

Shadow Al Actually 1 week ago my car started running rough and I was getting horrible gas mileage. I took it to my family Member who is a mechanic and they plugged in there $1600 machine and said that cylinder one was miss firing and cylinder two was misfiring to so I asked if they could do some deeper inspection they took The valve cover off and look down at the cylinders Nothing was bad ended up being The valve stems which the only way to get that at them or fix them is to take half the engine apart and with the engine being with so many miles and being so old I decided to get a new car I still have it but it just runs rough apparently the valve stems on them for engine that I have are prone to go bad. I ended up buying a 2019 Ford fusion titanium and 2016 Chrysler town and country. So far I love my new cars but it was Nice to be able to get into my old ford fusion and know that it was going to start every single day and even though the valves were bad it’s still started and it still got me to work and back until my family member could look at it. I did do regular maintenance as I have three family members that are mechanics. I always change the cabin air filter the engine filter the oil and battery when I needed and stuff like that. The only thing I ever really replaced was a water pump and an alternator and and then the regular stuff like tiers the battery and the head lights and stuff like that? But enjoy your car and the gas milage.
@@gagejopek9175 Thank you for the in depth reply bro. You're good at this. You speak well and don't overuse phrases like some other reviewers. I can see you being on KBB :D Also making me want this car more~
My only gripe is I find the 6 Speed Auto to be a bit slushy, but that's the worst thing about it. It's a fun, sporty sedan, especially with the bigger engine, and I think you'll enjoy it! Read what others think as well online, but in my year of ownership, I've enjoyed the car.
I have a 3.0 L v6 and the transmission was getting sluggish, it just was slow shifting then I got the transmission fluid changed and the car works amazing now. I love it, and its fast too
@@ryanbelyea6771 I have a 2006 sel do u know the life expectancy on them I’m sitting at 200k right now and it’s running pretty good other than the fact that the transmission can get a bit slushy at high speeds I’m thinking about getting a flush soon is that smart ?
Just got a used one as my first car. Only 7500 miles in it and i got it for three thousand dollers. It was really dirty so im in the process of cleaning and polishing it
I traveled over 400miles in 2 days Smith ride but had 22.6mpg on the highest meanwhile, meanwhile 33mpg is what is slated and 26mpg combined for both city/Highway, what could be the problem why mine was lower than average.
I bought the car in May 2018 with 32,000 miles and traded it in April 2021 with about 60,000 miles. Mine had the 4 cyl and the Ford 6F35 transmission, so those were my trouble spots that I decided to trade it in for. The transmission always kinda shifted funny: first to second was really chunky, and the transmission dipstick was pretty black after 45,000 miles, however that’s something I should’ve checked and frankly, it eventually smoothed out and wasn’t so bad after a while. The 6F35 is a bit chunky from what I read, but I don’t hear anything horrible from them. The 4 cylinder I had was beginning to knock, so once a mechanic told me that, I decided to get rid of it while I could break even. HOWEVER, the Sport has the 3.5L V6 and a Toyota 6 speed automatic, and my mom gave to my sister her ‘09 Taurus with the 3.5L and it’s still going strong after 180,000 miles so that’s a good sign, and the Toyota 6 speed is great, so as long as you find a good mechanic to look it over, I loved my Fusion and had no real reliability issues. Some quirky Ford stuff like the radio would randomly not connect to my phone, but that was a once every 3-6 months kind of oddity, and the starter would VERY VERY occasionally, sometimes every 8 months or so, just continue to turn over and I’d have to go back to off with the key and then crank and it would turn over fine. But that’s really it, and I’m really searching for something wrong with it. They’re pretty good cars from what I can tell. At this point, it’s a 12 year old car so like I said, definitely have a mechanic look it over.
On the Fusion, there’s an ambient light button (I think) by the climate controls (can’t remember exactly, I haven’t had the car since April 2021), and pressing it cycles through the colors until it gets to the end and shuts the lights off. I think some Fords only have single color ambient lighting. My dad’s Maverick only has blue ambient lighting.
From what I can tell, it looks like ambient lighting was standard on the SEL, but may have been an option for SE, so I'm guessing it's unlikely an SE would have it.
