love my viper 70mm. I just picked up the viper 90mm last night from my local shop!!!! Can’t wait to give that beast a maiden. The 70mm is a great trainer!! I’ve only flown it for 3 months and feel confident in my skills to fly the 90mm.
Thanks for great content. But most of all. Thank you for being the only, ONLY creator to acknowledge that I am even here. I shared the story of how, why I've gotten into flying. Silence... Everyone preaches HELP new people. But then crickets??? But it's Christmas. I was out back today with my old cub lp trying. Dad would be smiling and it's been the best thing for my mental health since I lost mom and dad. Years of taking care of them was a bit to get over. Anyway, see there I go again. I'm sorry. Hope you have a great Christmas. Thanks again!! I really do appreciate it.
We try to respond to everyone with either a heart or a comment. There's a lot of comments to go through, but you took time out of your day to talk to us. There's no reason we shouldn't do the same. If you want to stay in touch on a more personal level, hop into our Discord server via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and join in on the fun! Sorry to hear about your parents - both of Jon's parents have passed, too. Enjoy your holidays and here's hoping for better mental health in the new year!
I have had many Habu jet's the Fiberglass 32 then the Yellow/Grey EDF foamy one. All the Habu's fly and are wicked flyers. This video nailed everything that people should follow. Also did the same things with learning to lands in all directions. Good advice here 100%
Fantastic video with an excellent dumbed down explanation of flight dynamics. Not understanding how planes fly and how slow flight and stalls develop have killed many real plane pilots. So, it's nice to see those explained here too to save people a few bucks and generally become more competent pilots. Well done!
Thank you for video's like these with your hand control view. I still have my viper 90mm in the box but practicing on my Habu 70mm. Still trying to get out of Safe mode
The Sabre isn't a trainer jet, but the Viper is. FMS sells a version of this jet as well that you could work with and follow the same advice in the video: bit.ly/Viper70V2
Nice T&Gs. I’m almost to the point where I might start flying my Viper 70 off the road . Ditches on both sides. Little room for error. I can fly all my top wings off it with no problem, even my little Banshee 64 mm Jet. Watching for traffic, keeping an eye on the wind sock and clearing the trees is a handful. But flying my Viper off my Grass runway full of bumps is really rough on my nose gear. I might have to just go for it and see if I’m as good as my friends say I am. LOL. Thanks for the tips. Now I just need to find my big balls and just do it.
The easiest way to get used to flying off narrow pavement is to keep the landing point in your peripheral vision and aim the plane at it with rudder and counter aileron.
Awesome video, do you use the stock elevator throws? I’m thinking of adjusting the Clevis to get more elevator to get more chance to flare on landing, my Lipo is as far back as possible for aft cg
Nope, they're maxed out so that the jet has enough authority to take off and land well, along with doing strong aerobatics. You're not going to get much of a flare with this jet because its critical angle of attack is shallow. Join up on Discord via discord.gg/twobrosrc so you can ask for help!
The Futura is more forgiving than the Viper, which is why we don't recommend it. The Viper teaches how bigger jets fly with very similar stall behavior. It's also inexpensive to repair. Futura is a great jet, but it isn't a jet that teaches good habits for growing out of a jet like a Habu.
How about compared to the various Avanti's? I am looking for landing gear that can better tolerate hard landings on grass. You have said that you recommend this over the more forgiving Futura. How does the FMS 80mm F86 compare?
We'd need various Avantis to compare it to, but we don't own any. Futura is a solid jet, but it's not a trainer jet like this is - for people looking to build their jet skills, this is the jet we recommend. The F-86 is also not a trainer and requires knowledge that this jet will teach to successfully fly it.
Lessening dependence on SAFE isn't a bad idea, but AS3X isn't a crutch. You know most of our jets wouldn't fly well at all without it, right? Join up on Discord via discord.gg/twobrosrc and we'll be glad to help.
Hi 👋 thank you for the Video 📹 😊 I never been flying an EDF but your Video made me order this Eflite Viper EDF BNF 70mm just 1 Hour ago ... was it the right move 🤔 ? What's your opinion ? Please
Not a bad move at all, just make sure that you've got experience flying other airplanes before you take that up first. Jets are definitely not a beginner airframe to fly.
Flying the AeroScout S2 1.1m since 1Year @TwoBrosRC and my Landings are quite good . The Airfield we operate in the Club is quite long and I have other members Flying EDF ... is it OK ? Please
Jon to happen to know what the Stock Setting for the AS3X are as well as safe settings. I’m flying a FMS Anniversary Viper 70 with a AR630. Jammed in it up on the upper shelf. When I’m in AS3X. She shakes her wings. Up and down . I certainly need to help to get the gyro to help rather then hinder my flights. I’m in 1X mode should I try 2X ? I tried your set up on a past video you shared but I don’t understand the throttle adjustment part. I thin some how you turn down its sensitivity as speed increases?..
No idea offhand. The stock receiver setup file should be on SpektrumRC.com though. If you're seeing oscillation, reduce the gains. It's better to start with low values and work up as needed.
Hello been watching your video's mainly the Viper 70mm and 90mm love them and your content is really great and informative. I just bought a 70mm v3 Viper and i needed some help with the throttle connection has a separate yellow wire the manual says nothing about it. Is that for reverse throttle when connected to the bind port.?
Thanks Jon, you made learning this jet easy! I would be honored if you watch and comment on my flight with thos plane. I recorded it as Combat-Agent-6 on UA-cam

Viper 90mm is easier to fly than The 70mm. Just needs bigger space. You will love it!
If you've mastered the 70, the 90 will be a much easier jet to fly.
Thanks for the shout out Jon!!! ;) Very good jet - no doubt!
Any time!
6:38 just noticed your insane side slip to bleed energy while maintaining direction and control 🔥
Great video! Awesome that you show your sticks while flying. It makes it easier for some of us to understand exactly what you’re doing.

Those slip landings were🔥🔥🔥
Very nice teaching video Jon! Love the investment into RC pilots!!!
One of my favorite 70mm EDF's. Nice vid man! Very useful for folks getting into EDF's.
Great flying lesson Jon. Love it!❤. Landings are half the fun of flying!
They really are!
Nice PNP - love the thumb view, but better be carefull...there may be a FO for that - LOL LOL LOL LOL ;)

I have more access to FMS, so which JET you recommend in FMS. Thanks

Great video! Can't wait for some better weather to get my new Viper out and go through 4 packs doing T&G.
It's a ton of fun, like honing a knife to perfection.
Great instructional video 👍

Would you recommend this or a futura 80mm after learning on the Habu SS

Nice vid. Trying to minimize my usage of SAFE and AS3X. Any advice on how to utilize the sticks?
Why would you avoid using the tools you have available to you?
@ I want to improve and lessen my dependence on SAFE and AS3X. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jon maybe I'll dump the reverse Thrust I added Avian 100 amp in my FMS Anniversary model. That will leave me a channel to fine tune on a dial.
Is this model ? The best on market, as a. EDF Trainer ?
That's why we recommend it.

You can ignore that wire. It should be for thrust reverse, but you've likely got a Spektrum ESC so you don't need the physical wire to enable it.
Hi Jon , yes i have a ar631 receiver and a Nx8 Transmitter. Thankyou so much for helping me with that issue couldn't find the answer anywhere. 😊
would you recommend the rc cirrus for a begainer
Nope. There's other models in the E-flite lineup that are more suitable.
yes I have right now the fms sky trainer 182 any tips@@TwoBrosRC
Are you guys interested in the foam turbine jets? Would be nice to see some reviews!
Yup, but it'll be a while before we can afford to buy them.
my favorite is the circus I wish I had it
Cirrus, you mean?
yes lol

Nice work, man! You just need to focus more on landings and you'll nail them every time. Happy to see we helped out a little!
Cant youtell me the prices viper
