    A little info for you in case you need it. It is categorized as a 'moderate' Trek by most Trek Organisations including Indiahikes. The First and second days are slightly challenging days of this trek. The next most challenging day would be the day we go to phalut top as it is a long trek day. But it all becomes simple and doable if you enjoy hiking in the mountains and most importantly if you have prepared yourself well enough before the trek. If you have gone to other Himalayan Treks, you definitely know the feeling. :)
    Can you go if you are a First Timer ? - Yes definitely. Prepare yourself at least 2-3 weeks in advance if you feel. Small day hikes with a loaded backpack around your city will be good too.
    Is it worth going ? If you are a trek lover, and love to see 8000 m peaks, then go without a second thought.
    ( any other questions ? you may ask me)
    Also, this route was a Indiahikes planned route. I have heard that some other organizations take trekkers from another route. I am personally not sure about it.

      @theridgelinestories  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, Good to know :)
      It depends on which season you are planning to trek. For winters, carry one pair of all trek clothes such as trek pants, thermals (for campsite only), quick dry t-shirts, fleece/sweater, down/padded jacket, quick dry socks, good pair of trek shoes, trek poles if you want to, head torch(helps at campsites), suncap and woollen cap, neck gaiters (for wind incase), gloves, sunglasses, water bottle and flask. This might look like a lot but you will be wearing them so your backpack will not be full of items. Will recommend filling your backpack with only the necessary things to ease your trek. Your minimal toiletries needed. Sunscreen too.
      if you go with indiahikes they will ask you to also carry a metal tiffin box, cup and spoon.

    Between Sandakphu and Har ki dun, which trek would you suggest in mid April?

    • @theridgelinestories
      @theridgelinestories  5 місяців тому

      I haven't been to Har ki dun but I know people who have been to these two. Har ki dun will most probably be lush green with patches of white here and there in April (unless winter lasts long as it snowed late this year almost everywhere). It has a valley landscape in many parts and that is actually a great feeling to hike through. Sandakphu has views of some of the Highest Peaks in the world on a clear day. Also, Rhododendrons will be colourful on the way in some parts. So maybe you can decide based on this.

    How was your experience with India hikes?? Thinking to do the same Trek with them in February

    • @theridgelinestories
      @theridgelinestories  7 місяців тому

      Hi. It was a fair experience. The only thing I do not like is the excessive number of people per group (20-25 minimum). If you are okay with that then everything else is good which includes food, process, safety, Trek Leaders, campsites, the trail they choose, etc.

    • @niloybiswas7810
      @niloybiswas7810 7 місяців тому +1

      @@theridgelinestories can you please elaborate..i mean to say how did the excessive number of people effect your experience?? Was the stay became overcrowded or using the toilet was a problem? Actually this will be my Trek and i am both confused and nervous

    • @theridgelinestories
      @theridgelinestories  7 місяців тому

      So more number of people in a group may not affect everyone. Some people are completely okay with it so I believe it is a personal or subjective thing. But this is what I usually do not like in a Big group whether its with Indiahikes or any other commercial trekking organization:
      1) Everyone has a different pace of hiking, so most of the time we stop a lot or go at a pace that is not comfortable, which means some are always trying to catch up and some are always asked to slow down. Eventually, we reach the campsite later than expected sometimes.
      2) There is usually a lot of noise and sometimes takes away the peace of the wilderness. It is great to connect and talk to others but sometimes some people come in mini groups and make a lot of noise.
      3) 3 people in a tent along with the backpacks may feel a bit suffocating especially if they are not a 3-person tent.
      4) As you mentioned about using the toilet, this was not a big issue for me as I was used to it but, I will suggest you to wake up early before most people for this.
      Everything else is great and amazing including meeting a few nice new friends. Will suggest you to go for it because regardless of any situation you will definitely have an overall memorable and good experience for sure.
