Since this was my first Final Fantasy, this song is the first Final Fantasy song I ever heard. It has been an incredible journey and this will always remain one of my favorites.
You should check out Nobuo Uematsu's band - "The Black Mages". While not piano, it's his metal/rock versions of his songs, and his version of "The Skies Above" is not to be missed. Also, "Dancing Mad" (Final Fantasy 6; Kefka battle) is not to be missed, either...
Nailed it! Superb top notch performance on this track, Kara! The timing for the notes and pitch are spot on. Thank you for uploading this cover many years back!
Oof, hits you right in the feels. You have this natural knack to squeeze out every drop of emotion in your playing. I am so glad I decided to click on one of your videos all those weeks ago, since it opened my ears to beautiful music and my heart to a new community of wonderful people!
This is literally the only song that makes me cry every, single, time. The piece conveys the sadeness of what Yuna must shortly do, yet the hope she brings and the determination of her will that carries not only herself, but her guardians as well. Nobuo captured the moment absolutely perfectly in song to the point where no dialogue is even needed and it shows by how little there is in the Zanarkand scene.
I just was looking back to what led me to find you and it was this video because i was listening to every version of this song when i was in the mood to just cry, then it led me to all your other music and being part of this amazing community like I am today. This video will always be very special to me 💯♥️
This one hit's me hard, back then i convinced my brother to play. We were living in different cities, he used to pass by so i could help him with the sphere grid. Next month will be 11 years since he passed away and this song bring a lot of fond memories.
Absolutely the best interpretation I’ve ever heard, perfect tempo and loudness to catch the emotion. I just started learning piano 6 months ago. this really showed how dramatic the difference is with expert vs beginner. I’ve spent 200+ hours just practicing this piece and I can play it pretty good but nowhere near as smooth as you.
Now here's a game that I've poured DAYS of my life into. The sweet narrative between Tidus and Yuna that grows over time is a masterpiece of story telling. Your playing really sells the tragic sadness that goes along with this song. Well played ma'am, very moving.
Aw thank you for this! I have had a few people comment that it brought tears, so it must truly be a sad story. I wish I knew it better myself. Maybe at some point I'll get a chance to play the game! Thank you again, you're so kind!!
Only days? This game posessed my life at one point... replayed it and finished dozens of times and it still captivates me everytime I replay it.. everytime I hear this, I get chillz
@@KaraComparetto How did you manage to play this theme so perfectly in tune with the spirit of the game without having played it?! That is seriously impressive!
"This arrangement is very pretty, although my personal opinion is that there could be more to it." Sometimes less is more. The pauses and quietness really help to convey the emotions of the scene. You did it justice.
So many times Nobuo Uematsu plays with the quiet amongst the flurry. This is what makes his songs stand the test of time. Yes, you could blast through with powerful cords time and again, but when you pause to feel the emotion you really feel what is going on and feel the power of a well-built song.
I love the way you go into the main bit at 1:07 without a pause. So many renditions put a little break there as if to try and show emotion but all they end up doing is losing the momentum from the arpeggio. It's so satisfying to hear you drop straight into it without stopping.
How do I like this again? Expertly played. Most people play this in a an ethereal way, but the song is meant to be a crescendo of hopelessness. The perfect song to encapsulate someone struggling with finding a way to save the person they love.
Awesome version of this track! It's one of my favorites from Final Fantasy X, and any Final Fantasy. Listened to this just now during the middle of a lightning storm. The flashes and thunder really added to the emotional depth of the piece.
This is such a beautiful piece and you play it so well. I recently found this channel and I am in awe of your talent. This song though... it just hits differently! I had never played this game until about a year ago and it just resonated with me, like a comforting song I knew from the past. It hits even harder once you as the player in the game come full circle back to Zanarkand. You do it such justice. Thank you for what you give us all with your amazing gifts!
@@KaraComparetto I've always been a self-taught metal drummer and I'm teaching myself guitar, bass, and (eventually) piano. Excellent rendition. Thank you for sharing. The quiet and simplicity of much of the piece is what makes the stronger portions so powerful, imo. And simple isn't necessarily worse. Beethoven's "Tempest" and other compositions of its ilk are infinitely more difficult to play, but they can be an amorphous orgy of notes without soul or melody--a technical exhibition, nothing more.

Una gran canción con una gran pianista. Vas a llegar muy lejos. Muchas Felicidades y no te detengas; solo el que se detiene en el camino es el que nunca más se levanta para volver a sonreir.

I love having your piano renditions. Especially for some that are hard to find actual piano playing (many uploaded are digitally created). I would love to hear you go all out with your own interpretation of this piece. :)
