- Britain's Strongest Man, the first big strongman competition of 2024 has come and gone. We crowned the same champion for the third time, but unfortunately the show wasn't perfect due to the fact of the livestream server problems. We talk about it all in this video.

@@LalasBrothersIt would be nice if you did a little more research sometimes or were more careful if you don't know something. Not a big deal here but I have noticed this sort of thing a few times. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
Sorry to hear that people had issues with the livestream. I didn't have any issues at all (apart from a sync issue of a split second between audio/video from around event three) and thought it was a great show.
It's interesting that some people had no issues and some couldn't get stream going at all.

Facebook stopped doing paid live streams altogether, that's why Giants Live live streams moved to OSG website ,I do agree its a lil bit karenish to say I'm unsubscribing eff you fix your crap etc because it is true with any community or UA-cam channel positive feedback helps them grow and improve. Colin Bryce was in Laurence Shahleih's livestream apologizing to everyone for the bad stream and promising to improve so Europes will be fine to watch hopefully
It's a shame that Facebook stopped doing paid live streaming.
I missed the deadlift but saw the rest. I was pissed at the moment but I agree with the general sentiment that this is ultimately a good sign for strongman as a sport. I just wish the OS site stream had rewind/fast foward like facebook!
I wish GL had rewind/fast forward too! Shaw Classic uses ADL and they allow rewinding... wish GL would figure that out
@@justinstuart9109 Easier said than done. Giants use Vimeo and they just straight up dont have the option to rewind sadly
Good show. Obviously had the technical issues, but agree, find and fix it before the bigger shows. Massive props to Gav on his showing. He is just constantly improving.
I would really like to see Gavin winning atleast one Britain's Strongest Man title.

Was very frustrated trying to get to logged in to the live stream but finally managed missing the first half of the deadlift.
The lighter bar option helped split a few people which was good.
The only event that needs tweaking is the medley, it was certainly to light, but it's a new event and props to GL for bringing in something new and entertaining.

I think you put it perfectly that Luke’s hamstring injury was tough to watch, while you can’t really see much it’s heartbreaking to see
Luke is so unlucky with his injuries and at this point i don't even know what he can do to avoid it.
I had no idea there were any server issues at all. I logged into the website on my PC 30 mins before the show started and watched the whole thing without any buffering or dropouts. Got lucky, I guess.
It's because so many people tried to log on all at the same time. Then when it didn't work they all hit refresh at the same time too
I got on the live feed after a lot of trying got on just in time to see the end of the dead lift. The show was great it was close for a while for who was going to get the 3rd position. Glad to see Luke. Ack on form
I agree, the show was really good.
Tom has a big task ahead. The 4 biggest shows are the Worlds Strongest Man, Shaw Classic, Arnold Classic, Rogue, hes been on the podium at all of them. Except the Arnold Classic.
Also the strangest thing is Luke has a podium place at the Arnold Classic but not at the other shows.
Tom does have a big task ahead of him and hopefully he will accomplish it 😊
Top 3 is very different to Shaw classic at number 4
you mean events wise? Because Brian pays really well, which is what usually determines the desire for participation and most Strongmen consider the Shaw classic the most grueling show, with 8 super heavy events.@@user-tx5sw4hq1h

I found the event to be a great watch here in USA and think Giants Live will improve to keep growing the sport.
The sandbag event was great to watch because finally these two lads (Flowers and Bishop) brought athleticism to the event and created a new standard.
Keep growing the Brand and looking forward to hearing from you throughout the Season. Arnold’s up next x2. The World Deadlift event in Vegas should be a great event. Rauno will pull 505.
They will keep failing the 505 KG, it will likely be Hafthor who lifts it once and for all
I think someone like Jesus Olivares will pull the 505kg.
I had to refresh a fair bit, but got into the livestream, I just stay subscribed to official strongman the whole time. it feels like a good way to support strongman since it gives me so much free entertainment
I really enjoyed the comp. I got disconnected a few times but was able to reconnect within a minute each time. As the sport grows, funds will grow which can be invested into better infrastructure. No need to unsub so quick.
I got in after about 45 mins of trying to sign up again. Once the stream was going on my phone it was pretty much flawless. A good problem to have that so many people wanted to join that it took the site down, and now that's happened the tech guys will surely upgrade the available servers to support demand going forward.
I bought a subscription to watch Biby a few months back and I couldn't get through to that show either. I'm glad to hear Mateusz is looking good. He hasn't had much content the last few weeks.
Hopefully there will be no "hiccups" in the next stream 🤞
On a positive note, strongman is clearly growing beyond the capabilities of the current server setup. The demand is higher. That's good for everyone in the long run. Hopefully they'll stay on top of it from now on.

I am in montana USA and I have always watched after the shows are over the night of. That way I can pause and rewind if needed. Just have to stay off social media that day😂
Every event was great, but I agree the medley could have been heavier. I like when they try something new and it actually works.
It is nice to see new strongman events, that's one of reasons why i competed in this sport.
I actually just spammed F5 until I got into the stream. And when I first got in the stream was flawless
It was frustrating but I found once I'd refreshed enough times I could get on. Still empathise for how frustrating it must have been for those who couldn't access it
I didn't watch it live but the video still struggled. I think the comp on the whole was pretty decent although I agree the arm over arm was too light and the way the athletes were basically launching the implements around on the mini loading race prior to the arm over arm showed they could have been a bit heavier too. Still I appreciated the effort to do something new cos Lord knows I can't be dealing with watching another front hold event!

A great show to watch, I managed to get online just as the first events started so was one of the lucky ones, Tom Stoltman did what he needed to do, Adam Bishop lifting the 360 after 5 reps of 400 I feel took everything out of him. Tom played some mind tricks made an attempt to lift the 360 very quickly which made Bishop do the same. I don’t believe Tom had any intentions of trying to lift it, but he managed to get into Bishops head and took out one of his competitors. There was still another gear for Tom, his stone run was relatively slow at 23 seconds, but he didn’t need to do anymore. Had the points been closer, then we would have seen him do a sub 20 second run. Gav Bilton deserved his second place, he looked the most focused I have ever seen him and scoring well. Everyone had written Luke off but he has a new coach, some different training styles and the difference was huge. The stone run between him and Shane Flowers he just dominated knowing to beat him would put him on the podium. All in all the 3 best athletes on the night finished on the podium. However Tom is another level above and he used this as a training event for the Arnold’s. With Thor and Licis coming back the Arnold’s is going to be a very interesting competition, everyone will need to be on their A game to win👍🇬🇧
I got in after a few error pages, about 10 mins feckin about, I was getting a bit twitchy though, I watch on Desktop PC, does anyone else find the feed constantly goes to a shite setting and you have to keep bumping it up to 1080?
Missed the first two but exciting events. No point of rewinding if you know the result already
Everytime i watch giants live...i always keep telling them to upgrade their services. So many times the streams crap out or lag out. Really need to step it up

This is Tom stoltman year he’s just getting into his best shape so long as he cleans through all of the upcoming events without mishap he will be unstoppable .
I'm in the USA and the stream worked great for me all the way through. It was a great contest.

Very well said the Vytatus, The carrying hoist event has the same issues that the bag toss event had, implements not heavy enough.... that giant anchor has been used by world's strongest man since 1994, or longer... it's been around forever and I recall it weighing about 100 kilos not challenging at all to these athletes... the organizers of Giants Live, have to challenge these athletes more... the fact that one day shows feature five events in a short time period is certainly challenging for these athletes... however, you need to create separation. they need to use heavier weights, not every athlete should be able to complete every event.
100% agree. That’s why people are saying it’s no longer about being the strongest, rather the fittest strongman wins. Brian Shaw talks s about the importance of separation and heavy weights, something WSM and Giants Live needs to amend to make the comps more interesting and testing
I couldn’t watch it at all- emailed giants live and they said I’d have to Watch it once it was over. I figured there was so much traffic to the site that the servers crashed. guess I was right. It sucks it happens but it’s good that giants live and strongman are becoming popular.

Saying that it didn’t really matter as Tom was going to win, I would think that Luke and Gavin would be upset at this comment as they fought hard to get on the podium, when, maybe, they wouldn’t have been expected to.
the stream nearly never stopped i would say it was overall under 2mins that were skipped thats not a lot idk why but i could watch it and not missing any performance
It's weird right, because some people couldn't watch at all.
The bag toss event in Britain's strongest man was not heavy enough, The event needs to be challenging enough that not everybody can finish all the bags and it shouldn't come down to milliseconds to determine placing. that was the same problem with the truck pulley last year's world's strongest man final... The truck pull event should be long enough distance wise, or heavy enough, that not all the competitors finish... events that create separation in the placings really showcase the athlete's strength and talent.

I've stopped my membership last year it constantly kicked me out, lagged and error messages for all comps I tried to stream. It was way better when they allowed the one of stream on FB when I put a post on the FB page I got all sorts of abuse lol
I gave up hitting refresh after about 45 mins, hope GL sort it for the next one
It hasn’t been just one though, there does be buffering and errors every stream. It’s just a case of an upgrade needed. I’ll keep my membership anyway wouldn’t over react, hopefully they learn and move on
Yeah that was odd, cause it didn’t work when I used normal Wi-Fi but using 4g it worked the whole time

Anyone raging about the stream and saying they’ll never order again needs to get over themselves. I get it, it’s frustrating, but it’s not a big deal. GL always has the highest quality streams. This was a rare hiccup. Also you can just watch the show after the stream is done without any stream issues. That’s what I did because I was late for the start. It’s better anyway because you can skip through the lulls between events lol. People need to find something real to complain about haha
One thing about the official strongman website that's cool is you can cancel at anytime.

Agree with V. People overreact. This is good for the sport as a whole. More people watching, crashing their servers. The sport is growing. At least it was a crash at BSM instead of the new Vegas show

I didn't watch. It was a great podium. Thor was at 191.5 his last video when he deadlift 1000lbs. Arnold's is gonna be awesome.

It took me to the third event to get on. 500 error kept coming up. Have watched the first two now. The show was brilliant . Best ever Britains. Hope Europe’s goes better. I will stick with Giants Live. Worth the £.

I didn't watch it, I don't pay giants live. I'd be annoyed too if I couldn't get into the stream. Its like buying a ticket for a gig and being turned away at the door because of over-crowding.
Some modern strongman fan's seem to be a bit 'special', one little faliure and they come out huffing and puffing. Look at Rogues and the same attitude when a strongman doesn't live up to their expectation etc
The arm over arm was an odd one. The finish marker for the strongman was black tape around the rope at the bottom. When the strongmen saw that black marker pass the metal frame it was their signal to stop. This was to stop the strongmen pulling the weight right up to the pulley and damaging the equipment.
I had no problems with the stream .but some people did they did need to sort it out.
I was really pulling for Luke Richardson, he is so talented, it's a shame he's so injury prone.
