If you just loading files like images or things that just need to load once, you are right. If you store a bunch of games or editing a lot of video the SD card will be significantly slower. Personally I would just get an SD too for my usage. The higher capacity tablets usually come with more RAM to handle the files faster, so there is that too.
Great information. I'll definitely pass on this information to my art students and their parents that ask me about going digital. Always look forward to you videos Brad, keep up the great work!
The main reason I went for the galaxy tab s8 plus instead of the tab 7 plus was because the input lag on the s pen is way faster. Galaxy tab s8 are getting cheaper and have a way more powerful processor than the tab 9 fe. Also has 120 hz vs 90
I've had the fe for about a week now. The S pen just feels a little more responsive than the last generation, and the button doesn't trigger as easily. Personally, I think the slim keyboard and a mouse is the best set up to use with these tablets(for productivity).
Do you have the Slim Keyboard ? I'm hesitating between the two. I love the form factor of the slim but being stuck with only one viewing angle is why I'm leaning more towards the bigger one.
Actually I'm pretty sure every generation samsung reduces the latency of the S-pen more and more! Its at a point where it is 95% close to a real pencil I think.
Love the Samsung tablets, and the FE line are great products! Yes, the iPad Pro (also own that) has more software availability, but I generally find myself using Clip Studio for illustration work anyway. So, if CS is your primary art app (or Autodesk Sketchbook), I would definitely go with a Samsung over iPad for cost and features-for-price. I can also easily transfer files between the FE tablet and my Fold 5 phone (which also uses S pen and CS). As an added bonus, just about all the the Samsung tablets work great with Windows laptops as a stripped-down Wacom tablet or additional display, just like Sidecar for Mac/iPad.
I was really on the fence between ipad and samsung but seeing your comment and this video really made me decide. I use alot of PS, CSP and adobe apps and being able to use a tablet for art aswell as a display for my pc made it an easy choice. Only one question, is the S8 better or the s9 FE? S8 is considerably more expensive
@relentless4843 I can't say for sure, but the FE versions are simpler versions of the "regular" more featured tablets. I'd say you'll be happy with the S8 or 9FE, whatever your budget allows. When the pandemic started, I broke my 12" 2018 iPad and bought a Samsung Tab S6 lite. It was the first Samsung tablet I used Clip Studio on. So, I think you'll be good whatever your choice.
I am fashion degining student and want to start digital art and digital illustration but i have only budget for around 50k Which should I choose between this two?
Thanks a million for your excellent content. I'm new to digital arts, as a 28 year old it feels like something has been missing my whole adult life - that is creative art!! After watching this I am convinced to get the S9 FE. Can't wait to get started and officially become an artist!! 🙏🏼✨️
I took the plunge and treated myself to this gem...it arrived yesterday. I ordered directly from Samsung in the UK and got a big discount. I also bought the keyboard case. I have a 2018 iPad and a 2022 iPad Pro. I bought this Samsung to replace my older iPad. I think it's a great tablet. The S pen and keyboard takes this one to another level. The S pen is far more intuitive than my expensive Apple Pencil. It actually feels like I'm writing on paper. 10/10!!!
You covered everything (and more) i wanted to know, in this video. Great job! I really wanted to know if i would feel more comfortable drawing on a larger screen and you covered that. I will go with the smaller screen, seeing that you don't miss the ultra screen when you draw on the Fe screen. Thank youuuu! 💚💚💚
I just bought mine with the 8gb +256gb version to replace my broken MobileStudio Pro, works really great with clip studio paint as a portable draw-in-the-cafe device, my only complaint was the nib which felt inconsistent with the plastic + gel tip, but after simply replacing it with plastic ones bought online it works amazingly. Super happy with my purchase, and much more affordable than any ipad air or pro once you factor in the apple pencil.
Hey there friend! I've been eyeing the same version you got, but the only thing getting in my way is wanting more information about how it runs with Clip Studio! Do you ever have any lag or chokes with the application? can it handle a lot of layers with a decent resolution, or does it struggle if you go past a few layers?

@@vsimp2956 I imported one of my commission files that is about 100mb in size, has 3300x2600 canvas size that contains about 200 layers, it does stutter a bit when dragging and pinching around, but to be fair my desktop isnt perfect either. Its perfectly responsive but instead or buttery 90hz smooth its more like 30, with some stutters when zooming in or out a lot. The app does warm me about memory usage but no crashes have happened yet. For peace of mind i got the 8gb version of the tab rather than 6. 8gb was also what i had in my mobile studio pro, and both devices survived my decently large files which can be up to 200mb big. For a torture test i tried mesh warping a big folder of about 70 layers which is about 2000pixels across, it chokes hard BUT after 20-30 seconds of waiting it does update, even when android says clip isnt responding, its actually still running. However i did find a bug where it kept saying its not responding even after its recovered, though an app restart fixed that. For brushes i notice even 500px brushes still work smoothly for typical brushtrokes, but does start to lag if you scribble quickly. Of course if your brush is a more normal size like 100px or less then you can never make it lag. (yes, unlike the pinching and zooming, the brushtrokes are indeed buttery 90hz smooth) Overall i do not notice any compromise between drawing clip on the tab and on my desktop, however the same cannot be said for my previous mobile studio pro, where it does lag a lot 😂😅 hope this helps!
@@Havok2202 i bought it online from lazada, which is basically my local equivalent of amazon, the exact shop that's available to you would be very different depending on where you live
I’ve had my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE for about a year and a half now, and it’s starting to show its age in general. Fortunately, Samsung is having an Early Black Friday deal, and I decided to take the plunge and trade in my current tablet for the base version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. I can get a $300 USD discount for trading in my older tablet. And with an additional $50 USD discount, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE for only $100 USD plus tax. I’m a budget-conscious digital artist, and I don’t really need any fancy stuff like an OLED screen or even a fast processor to do my work.
I'm still rocking the Tab s4 10" and it does great in my opinion. It's not as high resolution as the newer tablets, but it is plenty for most projects. That said, this may be the best contender for an upgrade Samsung has put out in a while, as I'm on a budget.
I agree. I got a good deal on my Tab S4 as it was pre-owned and has a dead camera ISP (both cameras don't work at all), but other than that, it's the highest-end configuration which is 256 GB of internal storage plus mobile network support. The non-functional camera ISP is not a problem for me as I don't really need a camera on a tablet except for document scanning and video conferencing which I can do on my phone. Another downside with the Tab S4 is that its official keyboard case doesn't have a trackpad (Samsung only added that with the Tab S6), but the case design does allow for ease of use while sitting in a public bus seat and I can get by with using the pen to tap stuff on screen when I'm sitting at a desk.
I was torn between this and the s9 fe plus for a new tablet that is primarily going to be used for artwork and this video sold me on it! I already use clip studio paint on my home pc and knowing it not only runs great but also has a streamlined simple interface mode is just great! Thank you for this vid!
Hey Brad, sorry for the second and late comment, but I wonder if you could do a comparison between S9FE and S9 to see how well the 2 tablets handle large artworks, like time to open/save files, how many layers before the program starts lagging, etc.
Just got this before watching any review and started to question my decision. Good to know I made the right choice. The processor isn't an issue since my father will only be using it for light office tasks.
Thank you so much for this review! I have a late 2022 ipad pro and pencil 2 and my daughter has been wanting to get into digital art like I do. I have been looking around for a more affordable option for a tablet for her birthday and have been curious about this tablet and how it performs for creative purposes. I love your reviews and I'm sure she's gonna love her new tablet and art lessons!
I dont know about this exact tablet, but I had an older samsung tab and as a beginner, drawing on it was frustrating due to not being able to press undo while the pencil is within 1-2cm of the tablet, as touchscreen gets automatically disabled. Since I make a lot of mistakes I basically want to have 1 hand on the undo button and the other hand using the pencil. This is the main reason why i switched to an ipad which supports touch+pencil at the same time. To undo on the galaxy id basically have to move the pencil a good distance from the screen, then press undo, and then go back to drawing. It felt very disruptive. As for the pencil precision, I think they were similar quality, maybe pressure and tilt are a bit better on the ipad in my opinion Worth checking if this is the case for this samsung, and if there is a setting to disable it maybe, for my galaxy tab s6 there was no way to change it at the time.
Ive been waiting for your review on S9 FE , because this is something that seems "worth it" not too expensive but gives a near flagship experience it is latest , I'll be getting in med school in a few months and im up for getting a new tab for notetakimg and drawing by next year ,its a double thumbs up!
I am on my second year of medical school and I am waiting for this tablet's delivery. Good luck in your medical school, hope you will enjoy it and won't burn out💖💖💖
The S9 FE is a fantastic product from Samsung for that price range. However the S9 Ultra experience "can not" be comparable to S9 Fe. Many folks shout about how expensive that tab is,however to me,that's not really a depreciating asset. Rather,it's a tool i can use to get many of my jobs faster, easier and an overall seamless experience. I only use that tab 10% for entertainment reasons. The beat usecases for gigantic S9 ultra 1. High end video rendering for content creaters 2. Multimonitor experience, where i can watch lectures and take notes at the same time. I can write code and see simulations at the same time. The AI experience in UI is also awesome,it lets you drag icons, make diagrams for ppt seamlessly. 3. I can use the MS teams for conference and at the same time use MS whiteboards for efficient presentations 4. Watching Netflix in this device is a whole next level experience. TV and Laptop became obsolete for me,when it comes to Watching OTTs There are many more but i guess you all get the point. If you know the right use cases then that Tab is an investment, rather than waste of money. Otherwise if you just want to consume entertainment then yeah,it's a waste of money.
Absolutely agreed. Samsung is good at cutting features for the FE line up. I use the S20FE and it is the best value for money phone Samsung has ever made. I'm looking for a tablet and S9FE looks good. That LCD panel doesn't look bad at all.
I got a tab S8, a case, a 512gig SDXC uhs1 card, titanium metal nib replacements, and a paper like screen protector for less than 580usd I very much love it
I was on the fence between this and the tab 8+ for $550. I ended up going with the tab s8+ because of the specs + screen + network connectivity. I do think the tab s9 FE is an amazing option too. If I had the money, I would have gotten both and compared before making a final decision but money is tight so I could only get one.
@@ennamyo5037 it was a carrier's deal I was able to take advantage of. They were doing 50% with a new tablet line and I already wanted a larger tablet with cellular so I jumped on it. I paused for about 4 or 5 days to check out the S9 FE and see if I should just get that one instead but ended up choosing the S8+. Still a bit salty they only had a USB C cable lol. Like we have to make them fix this only a cable is not ok.
Really enjoy this video I've been trying to figure out if I'm going to get this for school it'll be my first time owning a tablet. And that's what I predominantly I'm going to be using it for.
would you mind covering the Lenovo Tab Extreme? Ive been interested in this tablet based on the specs and performance but i wanted your opinion on it. I think the display out option is really useful too. love your videos and art, thank you for covering an artist's perspective for tablets. hardly ever see it in reviews anymore, i really appreciate it
I love the Samsung tablets. I was unsure on getting one for a long time since I was just a beginner, but I can definitely say they are very high quality and way more affordable compared to anything apple has to offer. Thank you for reviewing this!❤
A lot of reviews i saw says xiaomi pad 6 is of much better value but unfortunately it doesn't come with the pen included in the box n that's kind of a deal breaker for me.
thanks so much for the review! i heard they also released S Pen Creator Edition as well would love to see comparison video between that 3rd party apple pencil, spen and more!
@@elm4gician All Galaxy devices that support the S Pen use Wacom technology, so yes, a Wacom pen will work. Also, if you consider the Creator Edition Pen, be cautious as I hear the quality is kinda cheap and the tips are very fragile. There is also no replacement tips you can buy for it, at least not officially.
i didn't even know there was a FE version until I stumbled across a listing online. I primarily use my tablet to read but I want to get into digital sketching on the side. If I had the money, I'd go all out with one of the S9 tabs but I'm on a tighter budget so this is a great alternative. I've been rocking a Tab E for almost 10 years and I want an upgrade that will last me just as long.
Thank yiu fir mentioning the S6 Lite, got it for 200 bucks on sale a couple years ago. To this day its keeping me from wanting another tablet, especially dince fir heavy workload theres laptops so as long as wide screen, good battery, good screen, good speakers and good pen? Absolutely no problem
Ive been using the S6 lite for years now, and i honestly got to say im still happy as it is now, and cant see the S9 FE as worth it for me. Samsung messed up when they made the S6 lite so good.
The Microsoft Slim Pen 2 does indeed work with the Surface Pro 3. But... (I'm posting this here, merely because it is your most recent video. But I thought you would like to know this because your first review was of the Surface Pro 3.) It's not perfect, but it works much better than the older, round Surface Pens. (And I've tried two models of the older pens.) With the older pens, the diagonal line wobble is quite pronounced , and the "wavelength" of the wobbles is about 3/8 of an inch. With the Slim Pen 2, there is almost no wobble, but there is a bit of jitter that is about 15% of the amplitude of the wobble on the older pens. And the wavelength of said jitter is only a couple of pixels. With the older pens, using stabilization was not as effective as one would like because the wavelength of the wobble was so long that you had to turn up the stabilization in your apps pretty high to get rid of the wobble. Some dynamic stabilization methods reduce the stabilization when you are drawing slowly, but this is exactly when the wobble on the older pens is the worst. Either way, this made it so that it was hard to draw details accurately. But with the Slim Pen 2, the jitter is slight enough that you can have stabilization turned way down, and just use standard stabilization (instead of the aforementioned dynamic methods). That way you can almost eliminate the jitter while still being able to draw details. And the pressure sensitivity is a little bit smoother with the Slim Pen 2. However, even though the Slim Pen 2 does have tilt capabilities, the Surface Pro 3 does not detect that, as determined by patrickhlauke.github.io/touch/pen-tracker/ (this is a web page that reads and displays the data that your laptop is sensing about the stylus). However, it is still better than nothing. Overall, I'm not quite sure if it was really worth the $178 (US) I just paid for both the Slim Pen 2 and the Charger. But, I guess I'm keeping it (rather than returning it) because it moves me just barely over that imaginary line from not really feeling like using my Surface Pro 3 for "real" drawing/sketching, to it being at least good enough for me to start practicing for the few years it will take for me to decide I need something much better.
I like the feel of the s-pen too, but have you ever used the same s-pen for longer periods of time? Because the tips breaks very easily and Samsung does not sell replacements. Instead they advice you to buy a whole new s-pen. To give you an idea: I use it for note-taking in grad school (i.e. daily use, but nothing weird or unconventional) and have gone through 2 in 3 months. This is a complaint many users have, so no recommendations there.
@@Wüstenfuchs12209 there are, but not by samsung, they're notting like the original ones (hard plastic as opposed to the typical sofft tip) and they usually lack accuracy. I've tried the s-pen pro and the s-pen pro 2 (creator edition) as a replacement. I personally did not like the pro and am using the pro 2 now. They both come with replacement tips but the tips of the pro have the same problem: they break. It's also less accurate, not magnetic and I had a hard time finding the button. The pro 2 is more like an Pencil: it has a hard plastic tip, and does seem less breakable. It also comes with replacements, and it is magnetic, although less convenient than standard s-pen as it is bigger, and therefore does not fit inside any of the original cases and attaches less smoothly. Overall I do think this is the better option, but it is quite pricy
@@MedievalMeredith Thats a bummer - but if the pencil breaks only after a few weeks wouldnt that fall under warranty? Either way, I am thinking of getting a samsung tablet at some point. I already got a Ipad Air 4 but I must say I am not perfectly happy with it. When I bought it like 2 years ago I had to decide between that one and the tab s7 and i might have made the wrong decision - anyway, you have a samsung tablet right? Do you use it in conjunction with a laptop/ PC?
@@Wüstenfuchs12209 No. This problem is as old as the s-pen. Their solution is to buy another s-pen, and since their asking at least 50 for a new one, of which the tip will break again, the better solution is to not buy another s-pen. (Again, the s-pen pro 2 seems sound, but is pricey. There's cheaper replacements available, like the wacom ones).
@@MedievalMeredith questionalbe business model thats for sure. Still, if the design a product which has to last for months (thats what the customer expects) if not years and it doesnt then they are oblidged to replace it. Theyve got the money and the lawyers but still, where I live custumers rights are very strict and if it comes down to it theyd most likely lose that lawsuit.
I got mine - Samsung S9 FE Plus - this week. Unfortunately my display has yellow tint. I am trying to get a replacement but service store is not agreeing.
Just bought mine yesterday. work so greats i love it. this is my first android tablet, i love the enviroment of samsung gadget . And also i got the bundle discount and free microsoft office 360 6 month & youtube premium 4 month😂. So worth it with the price ❤
If you want to have a brand new affordable tablet for drawing and basic media stuff, it probably is not a bad choice, but thinking about my Tab S8, which is barely 2 years old now, performs like at day 1 and will still get updates (lately it got an update to Android 14) for a few years down the road, it would be definitely the way better deal to buy a used Tab S8 for around the same price. You will get better specs (faster processor and 120 Hz display) and although it is already two years old, it still will provide you more future-proofness because of the specs.
I want one just to watch movies or videos, and to draw or edit photos. I game on my consoles or PC most of the time and mobile games if any I play on my s24 ultra. Seems good enough for what I want a tablet for.
I'm using my S5e since 4 years, and I'm not sure to upgrade to the s9 fe. It has amoled Display, 4 speakers, fingerprint reader, but maybe for the Spen and for the new os, 90 hz display I could make the upgrade.
If it's for art / drawing etc then look no further than that the Pixel uses a different pen technology that makes it worthless for art. If you just want a note taker / dumb pencil then yeah but Brad's channel focuses on what is useful for artists/ illustrators.
would the s9 fe+ be a good option for drawing and animating on clip studio paint ex? knowing the process of animating does the exynos chip handle all the layers with no lag?
The Exynos driver team has actually been doing an incredible job on the graphics side of things, so if you get the 8GB version, this tablet will last a lot longer than many people think when it comes to animation, mobile gaming, and of all things, AI tablet tasks. I know, I know, if you are playing with local AI aps then you probably shouldn't be opting for a $399.99-$500 tablet...but you can. Yes, stepping up to the $800 area will go a long way, and irl, hopping to the $1200 area would be optimal, but if this is what you have to work with then the 8GB of memory is a big deal when compared to the numerous other 4GB options out there. Will the Exynos ever match the new Snapdragon? No, of course not. Different design and 3 silicon generations older make that a non-starter. It does allow Samsung to keep a giant margin while not charging a ridiculous price though; $2K/wafer compared to $19.7K per silicon wafer is a big fricken deal. So, is it as good a value as a Kindle Fire 11? Well no, but it is a far better choice than the Scribe at $300-$400? Obviously. My only real complaint with this product is the 6GB of RAM on the base model. Again, far better than 4GB you find on most budget tablets, but at $360+tax this isn't exactly a budget tablet. Add the fact that memory is at an all time low when it comes to pricing and skimping out on that last 2GB of memory which probably costs Samsung, the world leader in both Random Access Memory and Storage seems more than a little silly. It seems more like an upsell tbh, as with Samsung owning it's own silicon foundries and making it's own RAM and Flash memory, the cost is probably around $1/GB of the slower GDDR6 while the NVMe storage can't cost more than $10 for them to double up to the higher end $450 version. Still, unless you are heavy into mobile gaming or want to use it for more specialized desktop replacement tasks, this product _should_ do the job for quite some time, though going with the 8GB model could add a coupl of years to it's lifespan, literally being more important than the Exynos processor *_in most cases._* When you run out of RAM, it does not matter how fast your CPU or Graphics processing is capable of going. Without the RAM, things stop.
Do you think that it is really worth paying a little more for the 8gb version? I just bough the s9 fe+ (8gb) but I am still in doubt if I should keep it or cancel and get the s9 fe (6gb) instead.. since I'll use it just for studying and sometimes drawing I don't think I need a lot of ram but I choosed this one hoping it will have a bigger durabillity
I would really really like to buy this s9 fe (not the plus) but again we have Xiaomi Pad 6 but considering the sudden 'going dead' feature of xiaomi phones I have seen, I am scared to go for anything Xiaomi. Therefore for simple video edits and watching videos, I guess s9 FE would ve a good choice... Thanks for the video which focussed on the S pen which I really wanted to know.
What would you recommend between this tablet and the xiaomi pad 6? Very curious about your recommendation as im looking to get a tablet for art+ other college activities and ive been following yohr channel for a while!
Will definitely consider the FE line.Thank you for a stellar review ✨️ Apologies for asking incase I missed it but what application are you using to draw?
Its interesting. Tab s9 Fe+ is surprisingly weaker than its only known competition, the Xiaomi pad 6 max. They even downgraded the chip to a questionable point. But that included case + sPen at no additional cost is really tempting, and they got a trade in, its basically $399 for me.. Edit: ah the local site shows the fe+ to be €799, that's a shame
I am eyeing this bad boy, but i'd REALLY need to hear something more in-depth about performance, specifically on clip studio paint. How does it handle the app? how many layers can it handle at a decently high resolution? haven't seen anyone talk about that so far and that's really what would matter the most to me
Its crazy the different sales you find for the s9 plus though... its different all across samsung, amazon, verizon, best buy etc. Some never have sales. Amazon does and even by color which is crazy
Great review. Is there any particular screen protector you would recommend for Samsung tabs?? I've tried some in the past but they seemed to leave in printed 'lines' where I had been drawing, which became quite messy after a while.
I just recently got a matte screen protector for my galaxy tab s9 fe off of Amazon and it's honestly so great! I had one on my old drawing tablet (surface pro 4) that lasted me the 8 years i had it for and wanted to get the same paper-like feel and I found one pretty similar to if off of there.
Honestly, 1 thing that erks me is the a54 processor they went with. That thing won't last 4 years. Considering Galaxy, a series of phones start to struggle 2 years later, tablets are even less optimized, I see lags on tab s7 series, not that it's not usable but definelty feels aged while phones like the galaxy s10 series besides 60hz still runs great and I don't see it lag, honestly they could've cut ip rating because for tablets that isn't as important they could've kept ip rating exclusive to tab s9/s9+ and s9 ultra in favor of giving us a slightly better processor at the worst SD 778 or 7+ gen 2 and they could've given us wired dex, I understand excluding wireless but there is no reason why it could have it. They tablet is just about good value but they screwed up with processor in fact it's even a downgrade from the predecessor wifi model tab s7 fe which has the SD 778 processor and exynos 1380 is behind SD 778 or 855 even, I feel like going with ip68 rating was a weird decision for this price point and something they could've cut out, I'd much rather have a more decent performing tablet which is more future proof over ip rating because let's be realistic how often do we carry around tablets outdoor.
I got my maxed out S7 FE wifi 18 months ago for only $550 (8GB RAM + 256GB), so cheaper than the current S9 FE+, strange that prices haven't gone down further
Excellent reviews🏅and fun to watch. I am looking for the right device for drawing in Live digital Caricature events. I would appreciate your recommendation: is it possible to settle for the Tab S9FE or better purchase with similar price a 22" or 24" Xp-Pen drawing tablet* (recommended model?), which allows more comfortable space for drawing and has a presence at the event, but requires moving around with a computer? *Since this is portrait painting, the question of whether it is possible to draw vertically with the XP-Pen is important?
Hey I really love watching your reviews. May I ask if you encountered any lags, especially when you have too many layers in a drawing application? I also want to ask if maybe you tried animating in this tablet? Thank you
Hi Brad, great review. The only thing I was missing is, how does this compares to a S8? Here in The Netherlands, the S9 FE is slightly cheaper than the S8 but the S8 still has a better processor
Until Samsung runs out of stock, the S8 is the better choice. Better processor/screen. But I would act fast because they will probably be sold out in the next few weeks
The only issue i heard for this is the lack of capability to display itself on monitor via usb c(samsung dex), please let us know if theres any work around for this since thats the only thing stopping me from buying. Thank you!
I'm okay with that disadvantage, since I don't really need an external monitor to use Samsung DeX. I only need a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo, and that's it.
Thanks for this. I was considering getting this exact tablet to get back into sketching, and you told me exactly what I wanted to know. It sounds like it's gonna hit the mark on exactly what I need for now to reintroduce myself into the field.
Makes zero sense to me to ever buy the more expensive one with more storage when its way cheaper just adding your own memory card
Memory card read/write speeds like to go SLLLOOOOOW BABY!!!
@@StonerSquirrelIt's a tablet, the read/write speeds are fast enough

@nickbryant6970 so you'd recommend the s8 vs the s9 fe?
"There's a fingerprint sensor on the button instead of the screen" I honestly view that as a bonus. The placement seems better to me.

@@relentless4843 S8 is definitely better than S9Fe, which as more value depends on the exact price
I am fashion degining student and want to start digital art and digital illustration but i have only budget for around 50k
Which should I choose between this two?
Thanks a million for your excellent content. I'm new to digital arts, as a 28 year old it feels like something has been missing my whole adult life - that is creative art!! After watching this I am convinced to get the S9 FE. Can't wait to get started and officially become an artist!! 🙏🏼✨️
It's never too late to start in the world of digital art ❤ I'm also 28, started at 24. Wishing you the best!
Did you get it?
If so, how is it?
Finally. Thank you for the review i've been waiting for this.

(yes, unlike the pinching and zooming, the brushtrokes are indeed buttery 90hz smooth)
Overall i do not notice any compromise between drawing clip on the tab and on my desktop, however the same cannot be said for my previous mobile studio pro, where it does lag a lot 😂😅 hope this helps!
Hi can you give some information on where you got the plastic tips please?

I’ve had my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE for about a year and a half now, and it’s starting to show its age in general. Fortunately, Samsung is having an Early Black Friday deal, and I decided to take the plunge and trade in my current tablet for the base version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. I can get a $300 USD discount for trading in my older tablet. And with an additional $50 USD discount, I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE for only $100 USD plus tax. I’m a budget-conscious digital artist, and I don’t really need any fancy stuff like an OLED screen or even a fast processor to do my work.
ive had my tab s7+ for 2 years before upgrading to the s9+ and can say it had no slow downs
@@Pedro145a😮
I'm still rocking the Tab s4 10" and it does great in my opinion.
The s pen creator edition has released, I'm excited to see if you review it!

Hey Brad, sorry for the second and late comment, but I wonder if you could do a comparison between S9FE and S9 to see how well the 2 tablets handle large artworks, like time to open/save files, how many layers before the program starts lagging, etc.
I'm guessing there would be a huge difference since my older s7 fe always crashed once I opened more than 10-15 layers.
Oh wow a S9 FE is released!! This is so cool 😮
As for the pencil precision, I think they were similar quality, maybe pressure and tilt are a bit better on the ipad in my opinion
Worth checking if this is the case for this samsung, and if there is a setting to disable it maybe, for my galaxy tab s6 there was no way to change it at the time.

The beat usecases for gigantic S9 ultra
1. High end video rendering for content creaters
2. Multimonitor experience, where i can watch lectures and take notes at the same time. I can write code and see simulations at the same time. The AI experience in UI is also awesome,it lets you drag icons, make diagrams for ppt seamlessly.
3. I can use the MS teams for conference and at the same time use MS whiteboards for efficient presentations
4. Watching Netflix in this device is a whole next level experience. TV and Laptop became obsolete for me,when it comes to Watching OTTs
There are many more but i guess you all get the point.

The Microsoft Slim Pen 2 does indeed work with the Surface Pro 3. But...
(I'm posting this here, merely because it is your most recent video. But I thought you would like to know this because your first review was of the Surface Pro 3.)
It's not perfect, but it works much better than the older, round Surface Pens.
Thank you man... This video helped me for choosing a device... As I am a student... Looking forward to buy this device...
I agree! His reviews are very detailed and he explains everything very well. I’m glad he was able to help you! ❤
Are there replacement tips sold by 3rd parties?

Still, if the design a product which has to last for months (thats what the customer expects) if not years and it doesnt then they are oblidged to replace it. Okay, okay. After watching this I've made up my mind - will 100% be getting a S9 FE in a couple of months. Thanks Brad!
I'm currently using that Tab and I'm thinking of trading it 😅
I gave me s5e to my step daughter and upgraded to the s9 fe. Missed the amoled display at first but after some time i didn’t notice it
I would like to see a comparison between this tablet and the pixel tablet since it seems they have similar specs and price!
If it's for art / drawing etc then look no further than that the Pixel uses a different pen technology that makes it worthless for art.
If you just want a note taker / dumb pencil then yeah but Brad's channel focuses on what is useful for artists/ illustrators.
Monday 23 oct was my birthday. I saw the date on your tablet. Btw im watching this on my new s9 fe
your the only one I trust with these things bro, Love your content!
would the s9 fe+ be a good option for drawing and animating on clip studio paint ex? knowing the process of animating does the exynos chip handle all the layers with no lag?

Its interesting. Tab s9 Fe+ is surprisingly weaker than its only known competition, the Xiaomi pad 6 max.

They tablet is just about good value but they screwed up with processor in fact it's even a downgrade from the predecessor wifi model tab s7 fe which has the SD 778 processor and exynos 1380 is behind SD 778 or 855 even, I feel like going with ip68 rating was a weird decision for this price point and something they could've cut out, I'd much rather have a more decent performing tablet which is more future proof over ip rating because let's be realistic how often do we carry around tablets outdoor.
such a concise & helpful review! thank you :]
How do you feel about this for note taking? Do you suggest any textured screen protector for note taking?
The real S6 Lite 2022 successor.
S7 FE is still as expensive as S9 FE+ Wifi. 🤯
I got my maxed out S7 FE wifi 18 months ago for only $550 (8GB RAM + 256GB), so cheaper than the current S9 FE+, strange that prices haven't gone down further
Yolo i bought it... My first tablet ever for drawing
Great review, Brad! I was just wondering if the FE edition offers DEX.
I had an S7 FE that had Dex mode.
Yes, this tablet can run DEX, but not on external monitors, just on the tablet.
@@mihaiionascu6001 I don't use Samsung DEX with an external monitor anyway.
This vid saves my bucks when choosing btwn s9 fe+ and s9+. Feels like exynos will go slower in 3 or 4 years and will need for an upgrade
I've got this tab with the spigen rugged airmer case and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo
Which one is better the Xiaomi Pad 6 or the Samsung Tab S9 FE?
Hey I really love watching your reviews. May I ask if you encountered any lags, especially when you have too many layers in a drawing application? I also want to ask if maybe you tried animating in this tablet? Thank you
EXELENTE VIDEO .. SIEMPRE MIRO TUS VIDOES.. SOS GRANDE BRAD. SIEMRPE HONESTO SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA. !!!
Hello does anybody know if it is possible to repair the display from the s9 fe
I just wish we had the ultra size on the fe price.
Hi Brad, great review. The only thing I was missing is, how does this compares to a S8? Here in The Netherlands, the S9 FE is slightly cheaper than the S8 but the S8 still has a better processor
Same in india
Until Samsung runs out of stock, the S8 is the better choice. Better processor/screen. But I would act fast because they will probably be sold out in the next few weeks
Ik heb een aantal weken geleden een tab s8+ gekocht en ik ben er super blij mee! Denk echt dat het een betere keus is dan de S9 FE, nu het nog kan.
it finally ran out of stock right as I added it to my basket lol, guess I'll get the s9fe
Thank you for the detailed review!
They should have made a tab s8/9 ultra FE with the big dislay
The only issue i heard for this is the lack of capability to display itself on monitor via usb c(samsung dex), please let us know if theres any work around for this since thats the only thing stopping me from buying. Thank you!
I'm okay with that disadvantage, since I don't really need an external monitor to use Samsung DeX. I only need a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo, and that's it.
You can use a hub
Is this tablet ok with animation with layers? Also is it worth it buying S9 instead? Or is the difference nit that big of a deal?
what application do you use to draw?
Thanks for this. I was considering getting this exact tablet to get back into sketching, and you told me exactly what I wanted to know. It sounds like it's gonna hit the mark on exactly what I need for now to reintroduce myself into the field.
