Where I grew up we had around 25 prefabs with 64 living units each (2+1 and 3+1 - in each 3 people lived in average) in 1km square area. They were build around community center with all the services, doctors, shops, groceries and even elementary school basically adjacent to it. The bus picked up people in that community center too. One bus linr to city center where administration and malls lies. Second bus line towards transport systems for longer distances like trains and big buses. Third line went to north industrial cluster. These prefab blocks are basically towns within the town built specifically to feed industrial cluster with workers. Oh! And atomic bunker under all of this to facilitate over 1000 people.
Majco but back then they had jeans, walkmans, leather shoes, and coca cola.. we didnt :( well we had, but only in tuzex shops where you had to pay with valutes(foreign currencies) mostly dollars and german marks

It's for the future when electricity will be nuclear and cheap. Meanwhile diesel is the power. I started diesel rails everywhere and now it will be very costly and fiddly to replace them with electric ones. especially in heavy build towns. Because I need to demolish some buildings and structures and then its hard to fit them back.
To be really authentic in the old CCCP, you have to have one factory where they make only men's size 11 boots for the LEFT foot, and then another where they only make size 11 for the RIGHT foot. Also, be sure these two factories are at least 300 miles apart !
That was not the right way, you need that them only make one of the three strips 1000 kilometers apart, and have them right in the middle of the heart of a town.

Keralis stop saying it looks bad. It looks like every socialist city , the ralwoads, the prefab residents , the way theyre build one next to other, the factories with the pollution - perfecly realistic .
When I saw the first video I didn't like this game at all, my initial reactions were negative, However the more I watch the more I see its highly detailed and complex! I'ts growing on me.

I have been looking forward to seeing this game for some time! It looks great and promising. But the way it is played (i.e. constructing "central-command" economy in a totally random way) is painful!
Sometimes I like to watch other ppl playing my favourite games. I like how much you enjoy this game and IT shows how good you are at planning those structures. Its like something between factorio and city skylines and in eastern europe countries. This is game I was waiting for so mamy years. They should add nuclear facilities, power plants, and toxic waste menagment too. And IT could be nice to have random accidents like reactor melting or something. I wish that building factory or power plants could be more on your own. You could plan where to put generator turbines or reactors , or put Brown coal mining excavator , those ginat machines and see how IT changes enviroment thru the time.

But you're in the red because you're using more money then you're spending. So in other words they have to wait a long, long time before any money is available for materials etc. You're risking a situation where your trains run out of fuel, your gas stations ends up empty, your stores out of food, etc.

Living fairly close to downtown st louis, I can say that even if your utilizing rivers for all your transport needs sometimes industrial regions are a huge mess of crosscrossing belts roads tracks and other fun :P
BTW comrades.. There is small country that actually exists between Ukraine and Moldova called Transnistria and it's still kind of Soviet.. There are like billboards, monuments, statues and ornaments everywhere like from USSR times and also buildings and the way people live and work is actually very Soviet..
OMG! I live in Hungary in a block of flat like these. I know in US there isnt any building like these, so I think maybe i should by this game, and build my own microdistrict. :)
There are problems with pipes and conveyors, if you connect more than one to the same building, it just runs one. Probably will be fixed in the future. Pipes could get deleted in sections like roads instead of whole. Also there are mess with education (I think they fixed this one), Navigation of transport, workers. Then glitches with buildings, you cannot build in same place if anything is in your way, no matter if you just demolished that building and want to build same. trains get messy if you run more than one train on the same track, semaphores get confused trains too. Some vehicles get unlocked before the date. Surface forming could be more technical and efficient. At the moment it just useless. I use roads to level big areas. Much quicker than flattening. Bus stops are just too big. They are more like bus stations. It should be only bus stop stand and placeable on ready build road, something like semaphore on rails. I do not use buses/Passenger trains at all, because it makes people wait on platform for no reason. Its better to build houses and shops around factories instead, so people can walk. This way you get 99% work efficiency. Autosaving had big problems, i lost many saves. So now do only manual save. By the way if someone does it manually too, check save files because it does not override, it creates new save. I just deleted 25GB of save files! It is still in beta, so developers working on it. Hopefully future versions will be flawless.

Here's something you won't "unhear" The soundtrack to this game is like a theme park version of communist music. As in I imagine 6 flags, Alton Towers or whatever your local roller coaster provider is would have this music playing in a communist themed area if they ever did that.

This game is way harder than Cities Skylines, because you need massive groups of planning councils to make sure everything works.
