Thanks for the fabulous memories. These two books represent some of the best of Jack's in my opinion. Although the strained relationship prevailed during this time, both Jack and Stan were capable of producing some wonderous comics. Thanks for your efforts on this video - it was great!
That cover for King Kirby-Size Special # 7 is primo Jack action! Order your posters now, boys. If only. And he was firing on all pistons with those panels featuring Galactus. I don't think I ever read that one, but that's definitely something I'm going to fix. Thanks for carrying his 'torch' for another Fantastic video, Fred. Excelsior!
I so loved that story in FF. To this day I cannot understand why I didn't continue buying Thor comics, after the title change from J.I.M. to Thor. I bought a few, but I missed so much great stuff. My loss. Thanks Fred!
All your videos are great Fred, but the choice of music and the wonderful text you wrote for this presentation was topped off with that iconic picture of Jack at the end and your closing thought. I don't know why, but when I read the part with the mention about the drugstores, I teared up and was instantly transported back in my mind to where I bought the majority of my comics as a boy and young teen! Thanks for that Fred!
Yep, enjoyed all these comix, including the FF Annual that turned out to be a reprint of a couple early FF stories. (was the cover a reprint, or was that original Kirby art?) I know that portions of that Galactus origin were reprinted in that Super Villain Classics one-shot from 1983. I agree that Kirby's art still popped and was spectacular to look at, but as you have already mentioned, the storytelling by this point was very cliched and derivative. However, they were still treasures to behold.
Nobody beats the ' King ' baby ❤😂

Much appreciated, Jay!

Hated to see the annuals lose new Kirby inside pages, Tony, but we know now there was a purpose.

You're welcome, Doug.

Wow! Getting that kind of reaction from you, BW, makes all my efforts worthwhile.
Great stuff! I always enjoy your videos!
Thanks, V63.
