Ben's writing has gotten better throughout the years but I think his vocal progression is just as impressive. This is soulfull and has range. Compared to sick pup this is a completely different artist. Love to see it Ben
With each new release, it feels like Benjamin is pulling up a sleeve and showing you another scar, and the lyrics have you lean in close to see the startling truth that the hurt still throbs underneath, a grim realization that the reaping of the wound sometimes takes a lifetime. The tenderness and pain of the experience is brutally shared with the listener, and you find in that experience a truth that we are stronger than we think, that life's twists and turns and the harm it allows us to do to ourselves and those we love can somehow, in a trembling and imperfect way, eventually be used to mine strength for ourselves and hope for those willing to care enough to hear the tragic story. I cannot say thanks enough for the honesty and beauty that wraps the pain that is contained in these songs. May only good be yours as you live truth.

Ben has always had a pretty arresting voice because if its brash, unflinching honesty. You always believe what he's singing because you believe he means it. Often he sings every line at the top of his lungs, as if he needs to force the words from out between his teeth before they try to retreat. That being said, this is one of his best vocal performances I've seen. There's a gentleness to it that he doesn't normally carry. The dynamics of the softly played guitar and an almost breathy vocal performance sends this over the top.
The Truth, with however many chords it takes... SOoo good. This is what music from the heart is all about. Keep on writing Benjamin Tod, I'll keep listening!

Your arrow ain't sharp but age may deadly your aim
If I'll kill and get killed my dear, would you love me the same
And as I get older, I realize that time has a way
And the patience you've build in your youth will discern how you age

this is incredible songwriting.
Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. You make me want to be a better husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
protect this young man at all cost.
Ben’s music just hits different. Hope I get to see you live one day!
Sounds exactly the same. Which live music usually isn't. Travel to see him. Well worth it.
@@ericbaesler7204 I genuinely was going to try in may to go to Kentucky but it’s too close to another pre planned trip to Montana to see my little brother. Next tour for sure
I only listen to live cuts of country music
I love seeing a notification for a new Benjamin Tod video! 🤙
Friggin goosebumps Ben .
Thanks again .
so glad than ben sings this song the way he does it makes each person feel its about themselves
I love how tender ge carries the song with his fingerpicking
What an amazing collaboration between 2 amazing songwriters. Ben, you never cease to amaze me.
Artists like this got me back into writing and had me realize I don't need a big flashy band to make something I can feel proud of.
Riding the EBD peavine listening to this song is amazing I love listening to Ben and riding freight trains!!!
There’s never a miss from Benjamin Tod.
Timeless song bud. Really enjoy listening to your stuff brother, keep it up! Wish you would do a tour across Canada 🇨🇦
Fuckin rights man! I second this. Benn, Colter, and The Dead South would bring out the Canadians like a birch bark cone brings out the moose
Good on you keeping the songs alive
The Truth, with however many chords it takes... SOoo good. This is what music from the heart is all about. Keep on writing Benjamin Tod, I'll keep listening!
Long time fan. Dude is legit. 💕
This dude writes the most beautiful music. Absolutely painful gold. Thank you.
Benjamin Tod never disappoints. One of the greatest, realest artists that ever existed
