The amazon best seller list updates all the time, so these 5 mics might not be in the top 5 when you check it right now. However, these are 5 extremely popular budget usb microphones so it was really fun to put them side by side. I don't want to influence your opinion on what's the best microphone so that's why I didn't rank them.

My takeaway from this is that a $20 mic arm does more for sound quality than adding another $100 to the mic itself

Would be nice to hear how they sound when using a keyboard and mouse. But overall, great comparison. I'm really impressed with the fifine one. I'm slightly disappointed with the expensive Razer and Blue Yeti X because the cheaper versions sound better
Honestlyyy the razer one was really disappointing... I love them but I genuinely think their products are hyped up too much; so many cheaper alternatives that do better.
My Tonor doesn’t pickup keyboard sound and I have a pretty loud keyboard.
I’m not too sure why he doesn’t like the Tonor as he doesn’t state, but it’s honestly a solid microphone
just a heads up the actual test starts at 06:46
Thx
Thank you 😊
I use a Fifine T669 and it's perfect 99% of the time, it does pick up a lot of background sounds (so people talking or typing on their keyboards), but in turn is also very powerful, the input volume is always set to the lowest it can go and can still pick up my voice with ease
Do you have the Microphone on your desk or on an microphone arm?

@nameyname1447 Yeah, I actually purchased the razer mini and had to return it. I'm not sure how to describe what was wrong exactly, but way too much intake of sound on the mic, and it constantly cut off for me. Might have been a bad luck of the draw. Maybe the wire was shot. I'm not an audiophile guy, so I didn't feel like messing with settings that, and it was broken out of the box. This is typical with razer. You either get a good one, and it lasts forever or a dead on arrival.

The hyper x and fifine ampligame were so close in quality that I stopped looking at my screen ( having youtube in pop out mode) that I did not realize the mic change. Amazing replica.
Honestly the quad cast was the best but not worth double imo over the seirin or the fifine. I was really happy with the fifine sound.
The hyper x solocast sounds great for being on the low price point.

I followed your advice and bought the HyperX Solocast Mic, and wow 😮
I also got it 20% off and it sounds amazing. Out of the box I was told my voice sounds crisp and clear and with discord's 'Krisp' settings enabled, the mic won't pick up any background noise, bumping of the microphone, or keyboard typing! Thank you so much for your great recommendations. Definitely picking up the boom arm soon.❤
The Fifine Ampligame is actually good enough for professional recordings. Very good bang for your buck.
I use the fifine for work and my coworkers had been blown away from not just how good it sounds but also the set up.
bruh I literally got it without looking at reviews and am now blown away that its this good like I was expecting a pretty good but not amazing quality

@@dukebeamer8154what made you choose the fifine?
Solocast has to be one of the best here, it sounds so clean
I recently bought the solocast for UA-cam making and got a cheap enough boom arm, and I have to say, as someone who always used gaming headsets, it's such an increase in quality.
Yo based on this video, I bought the fifine ampligame mic with a mic stand and i absolutely love it! Thank you! I would not have bought something if it hadnt been for this video!
I have the toner tc-777 and I'm super happy with it. It feels, looks, and sounds better than anything I've had before it.
same, great for youtube videos. its a little quiet but some gain and compressor makes it great.
same, but i hate it
If u could make a video explaning how to configure shure sm7b would be awesome. Thanks for all ur videos u are awesome
yup
Fethead and then into your interface... Or if you have an interface with good preamps just plug it in?😂
Edit: dont forget its a dynamic mic so dont use phantom power and let it be close to your mouth
The HyperX solocast sounds so much cleaner than anything else at the price point. Might pick one up
I recently got the hyperx solocast and I am soo happy with how good it is
Your videos never disappoint
that fifine sounded very good imo!
Looks like I'm buying the solocast! Or maybe two. For a guest :) Thanks for all your videos. You have been an excellent help in finding the right mic for my videos. The Fifine Ampligame is incredible but cost sooo much more in my cuontry
As always, great video!
The solo cast sounds great for the price. Thank you so much
seiren mini is awesome mic. Used it for 2 years straight for work. One major problem with it. NO MUTE button so i was disconnecting my mic every time from USB. Switched To Seiren with mute button only for that... For sure Razer knew it when they manufactured MINI that ppl will have problem with it.
What boom arm did you use? I'm only seeing arms of 100 dollars available, links are dead and this is the newest video on the topic lol
Need help pls
If you do rec on obs with a streamdeck you could mute the mic with the touch of a button.
For the voice of The Video Nerd and using the added boom mic stand, it's my opinion that the Razer Seirin Mini @10:49 might be best though the HyperX SoloCast @10:16 is also very close. I hearing a broader frequency range of the Razer Seirin with a full low end a more crisp highs. Great video.
Thank you so much this is a very insightful video it seems in terms of budget the hyper x solocast, fifine ampligame, and razor seirin mini are all dependable options
Thank you so much for doing a mic test with the mics still on their desk stands! I am looking for a mic for my mom so she can have something just a little better than her headset mic, but the mic arm would be way too much for her to handle.
There is a huge price difference between the Razer mics, but I'm not sure there is that much of a difference in the sound.
Ye the big Razer one is really disappointing
@@TheVideoNerd especially as it sounded worse out of the box.... they probably didn't bother to look to much into that because "hi it comes with a software, do it your self!"
Thanks for the video! Im getting the hyper x solocast now!
Hope you enjoy it!
Just got it, awesome mic!!!@@TheVideoNerd
I have the blue yeti microphone, the sound is just incredible for me, I'm not saying that just because I have it, it's just that I think the sound is excellent, in addition with some adjustments, this microphone becomes almost totally perfect!
hi :) i just purchased the yeti, may i ask what were the adjustments that you made to make it sound better? Thank you!

Solocast is actually amazing 😍
I have the solo cast it’s good but if you even hit your desk or the mic you can hear it very loudly
solocast is elite for that cost, will be copping
fifine was also top class, very little difference between these two
This was very helpful. Please make an updated video for 2023.
You probably won’t see this but if you do thanks! ❤️
Fifine Ampligame a8 is a huge mic quality improvement compared to a6. Should be mentioned!
They all are really good
Great video! Very informing and non time wasting! Thank you Video Nerd!
Man that Hyper X Solocast sounds really nice for the price, I'm gonna consider buying one for sure.
11min video on testing microphones for under 50$. First 7 minutes has an ad, microphones over 50$ and no testing. I have no words.
The Fifine mic actually sounds really good to be honest I might need to get it because my current mic is terrible

6:48 blue yeti
Gonna go with the Razer Seiren mini...I'll let you know how it goes, fingers crossed!
@mrtiredeyes How did it go ??
@@x_noy1040 very good! I need to invest in a mic stand, I KNOW he recommended that, but couldn't afford at the time. Sounds really good up close but is easy to sound faint if too far away. Still working on my "youtube voice," I'm starting a new channel as soon as I have a few videos made!
@@mrtiredeyes Okay thanks. Good luck for your youtube channel!

Picked up an open-boxed HyperX QuadCast for $60... Thanks for the video...
The Title: "Under $50"
The Thumbnail: "has the second mic as $114"
Me trying to figure out how 114 is less than 50:
The yeti plus thing was distorting or smth like that
As someone who has the yeti don't buy it if you're room isnt acoustically treated or you live in a big city and have no sound treatment
Thanks alot buddy, ima getting a razer mini :)
Fantastic video, thank you so much
i just love it when u uplode

i wish i could hear a typing test with the mic close to the keyboard and the mic closer to the mouth but i think solocast is for me
Let’s be fair: The Yeti feels as heavy because of the stand, which by itself makes for 3/4 of the weight. It’s a ridiculously heavy stand. The Yeti itself isn’t THAT heavy. I will still say; At that price tag, the Yeti is the microphone to beat, when it comes down to usb microphones and sheer audio quality. But I’m glad I have switched to audio interface + XLR microphone a long time ago.
I have the blue yeti microphone, the sound is just incredible for me, I'm not saying that just because I have it, it's just that I think the sound is excellent, in addition with some adjustments, this microphone becomes almost totally perfect!
I got today a Redragon Quasar GM200 for $26, tested audio and oh boy it's good for it's price, specially coming from a $8 HP headset's mic
Did you speed this up? I can follow the audio but it does seem a rather fast delivery. Better though than the overly slow ones I sometimes come across - there's a lot here packed into a short space.
Other higher tier mics has fuller vocal, but i can hear pop sound. Razer seiren v2 pro no pop sound, very stable and clean.
Nice video! I am currently recording free guitar lessons on my channel and looking for the best mic for the iPhone and am currently using the Shure MV88. What would you recommend for the best mic for recording voice and instrument together?
The tonor one is actually the most natural sounding of all, the other ones sound a bit fake for me, like they add more bass, and make the voice deeper than it actually is.
Idk which to buy… I really need those buttons on the Blue Yeti, but the Seiren is so good and way affordable.
Blue Yeti: 06:45
Seiren Mini: 08:53
I do notice the Blue Yeti has more options and basically more able to access. The Seiren Mini is super close. I heard some bad reviews from the Blue Yeti though. Which one did you end up choosing?
Hyperx brother are really great
Nice video
hyper x solocast by far, the rest have issues, fifine comes close but is slightly tinny & boxy in comparison and you can tell cheaper made
I'm hesitating from which I would buy , 9:53 (bleu yeti) or 10:25 (hyper x quadast)
Sorry for English I’m from the Netherlands
The normal blue yeti also works with blue voice with the logitech ghub update
The razer siren mini was the best bang for your buck
Does it work with Xbox series x
the “old mans cap” he put on that razer mic gave it a tip
I never would have guessed I could get near professional VA quality for less than $100, wow
imo, fifine ampligame if you are on a budget, and if you are willing to spend a bit more buy an elgato wave 1 or 3
i think you should test the CAD Audio u29. It's a really budget microphone. Even though it doesnt have a good stand, it has really nice sounds!
I'm going to give a personal criticism but I'm trying to be calm and polite, it's difficult to transmit tone and attitude by text.
I fi find your thumbnail misleading because I understood you were going to rate the microphones, even do it depends on personal opinion UA-cam compression doesn't let us experience the sound like you do, and I assume most of us watching this don't have a mic so your opinion, because you compared all of them, would be very valuable to us.
Other than that I really like the quality of your content, have a nice day.
Why does the solocast lowkey sound better than the quadast?
Great video! Thx
07:37 Awesome Sound 🔥
Biased against tonor but it sounds great here too.
The Fifine was clearly the winner for the price, the Razor one after was a major downgrade
Pretty helpful video thank you
Quick fact : The Razer Seiren V2 Pro doesn't capture from the front, but from the top, like the SM7B or the MV7. Really liked your video by the way, I have a HyperX Quadcast but i would like a Seiren Elite or a Seiren V2 Pro. Love your videos!
I don't know if I'm just getting old, but I don't understand all the light up features they keep putting on things nowadays.
Why would I want my microphone to flash colours at me? They could leave out the silly lights and put that extra money towards making the mic work better.
Social media shows very colorful rgb or very clean single-color light setups. They look amazing with the correct lighting and photo edits, so people want it at home as well. Sadly, it never looks even close to the pictures in real life. But people like to have it, especially when coming on camera for streams or videos. It looks nice then! Cheers :)
@@TheVideoNerd I guess, but... it's a microphone, ideally it shouldn't draw attention if appearing in shot, and the rest of the time it won't even be seen at all (and for a lot of people they won't even be filming themselves if they're using it to record voiceover for their animation or gaming or something)
Quick question: I'm mainly recording training videos for my work and would like upgraded sound quality. However, I have kids and work from home + I have a loud air conditioner in my office. Should I even consider a condenser microphone or go with a dynamic mic to help with background noise suppression?
great info thank you
