I've been a live sound engineer for 33 yrs. I've toured with a fair amount of aging groups. Good performers reach a point where they understand that their abilities are changing. I see it a lot in both singers and drummers. It may take them a couple years to accept that change, but eventually they find economic ways to work their craft, save energy, and finese things a little differently. Vince seems to have found a better way to use his falsetto voice to hit the higher stuff, and he transitions back and forth to his regular voice fairly seamlessly. Its not perfect, but its a whole lot better than what he was doing.
Totally agree. To be honest rock bands are not meant to be album perfect live. For too long people have gone to gigs expecting a replicated version of what’s was on the album.
