Because I think they're geared more toward youth and youth are impressed by Hollywood and famous people. It's sad but true. And they are finding famous and semi-famous people who follow Jesus to do these in case you hadn't noticed, so that kids can see that there are people who are successful even by the world's standards, who follow Jesus, too, and not just their grandmas...
@MrBeautifulba1 In God's sight no one is unattractive. Each and every one of His creations is beautiful. And articulation is something that only God can give when someone gives their testimonies. People share the stories of their lives only by God's grace, not by their own strength.

If you want to tell someone how God changed your life, I think you just....say it =) (even really shy people). All of us can speak about anything we really believe...(that's just what I think =)
