Jerry G. Bishop was a charming and gracious man. I knew him very briefly and and sorry I didn't make more our acquaintance. RIP Mr. Bishop!

The Sven I knew is Rich but he does a great job paying homage to Jerry, that along with all of his work let’s his legacy live on. Thank you Jerry for creating something that bonds my family and a piece of our heart in Chicago.

Boy does watching this bring back memories of watching WFLD back in the sixties and seventies on Friday night, where has the time gone, in a blink, because I remember both of his shows, not to mention BJs Cartoon Town, I am seriously dating myself

I remember a morning movie station where Jerry would spin a wheel and Folks would be called to answer a question, and win a prize.
We must always make time for scary things, like monsters, ghosts and vampire wings. Jerry will never really be gone. We know this quite truly, he lives on in UA-cam … Just type in SVENGOOLIE

I'm quite sure Svengoolie was modeled on the character Ghoulardi, played by Cleveland TV broadcaster Ernie Anderson in the early '60s; it first aired about the time Jerry G. started working at KYW. Here is an interview with Ghoulardi:

You're right. Bishop got permission from Anderson to create a Ghoulardi - like Horror host.
