Configuring The TCA Officer Pack for General Aviation | Microsoft Flight Simulator Tutorial

- Today's video covers how I configured the TCA Officer Pack by Thrustmaster for usage in General Aviation airplanes like the Cessna 152. There are a few things that need to be changed on both the stick & throttle to make it operate optimally for prop & turbo prop based planes.

Love your channel and content. Baffled why you dont have more views.
Sehr gut. Hat wunderbar funktioniert. Vielen Dank
Thanks bro
This is excellent I like the logical way you have laid out the controls. I am stuck with the dual bindings such as Increase autopilot altitude which has both Joystick Buttons 14 and 5 assigned. How do I bind both buttons to this function in MSFS? Do I put one button in the left box and one in the right box? Thanks in advance.
The left and right boxes are there if you want to assign the same function to two different keys. To achieve the combo press, you press on the first key, hold it down, then press the second key.
@@FlightSimSchool Thank you so much
I really appreciate all of this. But, I wish you showed how you combined 2 keys to one function. As well as which button you mean when you say something like, "middle button". Do you mean the Xbox button? It started getting a little foggy when that would happen. I've tried it over and over and it doesn't work. Still, this was a great start to things. I, of course, can configure things as I see fit. Thank you for your help!
The way it works is it’s a sequence of presses, let’s say we have Button 1, and Button 2. I’d assign one function to button 2, and then another function to Button 1+Button 2. So when I wanted the second function assigned to Button 2, I’d press button 1 first, followed by button 2. Since I recorded this, I’ve kinda gone the opposite way and don’t really use button mappings for much other than the main control surfaces, and just interact with the cockpit via the mouse. I realize on Xbox that assigning more functions can be very useful though. Anyway, hope that helps!
I'm about to try this setup. However, before I do; would you say that this video is still relevant, or has anything changed to where you'd consider this setup out of date? Thank you sir.
Hi Derek, I still use this setup today with a few minor tweaks to how I use the buttons, i found after a while that it was easier to just look around the cockpit to find what I’m looking for rather than overloading the buttons with dual functions.
@@FlightSimSchool Okay, thank you sir!
Any idea on how we can map the mixture axis to the throttle quadrant? Getting all types of wonky results. Throttle works fine, but mixture is not working
There are two different axis that you can try, one of them says something like mixture 0-100, and the other just says mixture axis. I believe I used the 0-100
I still don’t get the part where you have external view and you press which modify button?? And how do you bind two functions into one?
It’s a combo press, so the button is used to reset the view and if I hit another button plus that same button it’ll do a different function
Could I ask does the tca captain pack work for the default cessna 172 in xplane 11
I don’t have xplane, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t
How do you manage to trim teh plane if you have to take your hand off the stick as in your config?
I forgot to mention that I use it in the first-officer configuration, so right hand on stick, making it easy to reach the trim with my left hand. You'd want to flip it for captain/left hand usage.
how to set pivot in external view to look around like you do in 6:23 not only to get preset views ? It would be nice to know :(
I mapped the external look left and look right to keys on my controller so that I can look around easily.
when i try to fly with captains pack all my electrical systems go off do you know how to fix
Thanks
The first thing I would check is if something got accidently assigned to one of the bindings, and try it with the default bindings that come with the controller
hey hopefully you already figured this out but in case you didn't, that happened because the conflict with the engine on/off switch. go to your settings and only assign engine master switch 1 for button 3 (left switch) and engine master switch 2 for button 4 (right switch) then you should be good.
hey, what are your joystick sensitivity settings?
I'm using default sensitivities for almost every plane that I fly.
@@FlightSimSchool thanks
Compatible with Xbox?
Sadly not :(
there is new edition that support xbox, just released
